I know there's a lot of spam-ish repeat threads going on right now, so I thought I might do something a little different. This thread is also based out of my own curiosity. So tell me: how long have you been listening to Dir en Grey?

blaugh Since the summer for me, even before they started the tour (which I couldn't go to buy the way cry ) but people always think I've listened to them longer! It feels like I've been a fan forever, too confused

I started this thread because it seemed to me like most of the fans here (as in the ones who post in 304 anymore) are newer (like, from the time they started touring overseas to present date). Seems like so far I'm pretty right. I've been listening to them for almost 4 years now (will be 4 years this December). I mean not that I'm claiming to have been there since the beginning, but still. I think I might have come in right around the time Drain Away was new (not sure because at the time I looked more at fan sites than the official).

11 months for me. And just what exactly is this "any Jrocker not Asian is a n00b" thing?
(I'm sorry I'm not posting very often but I have so much schoolwork to do I barely have time to do anythign else. But I check every day to be honest.)

The only reason why I remember the exact date, is cause it was a day before The Marrow of a Bone was released...
I found out about them through a JRock fanvid...which had Utada Hikaru's "Passion" playing...ehem...

Prejudiced, oui. I wouldn't say ANY non-Asian Jrock fan is a noob, but quite a few are... we're pretty lucky in this forum to not have a lot (or really any at all) super-noobs.

Although I'm sure people have seen on many other forums (ahem, FVT), YouTube, or at conventions, that there are LOTS of noobs out there.

My guesstimated ratio is 5:1, noob to non XD

Anyway: the point of this thread. Eh... on my own, I've been listening for about 7 years...

My exact date was May 24, 2000.

Myaku had just come out and the teasers for [KR]Cube and Taiyou no Ao had recently been released. My sister had always listened to them, but the first time I heard Myaku was that day, and I was like " eek Why haven't you ever made me listen to these guys!?!?"
