The colorful stallion walked across the tall grass wearily. The yellow sun lay directly over his head and promised to leave red on his partly white coat. Today had been extremely hot even though it was almost fall. As much as Spotty liked the summer and all its heat, he started to grow tired of it. He longed to crunch brightly colored leaves with his hooves and to run around in the white snow. This, however, seemed unlikely so Spotty decided to head for the river.
Trying to shake the heat the stallion ran towards his destination. This let a cool breeze flow past him and bring a little relief from the warm air. Reaching the river, Spotty could see that the place was mostly empty. This was a bit of a disappointment but the stallion shrugged it off and got a drink of the cold water.

Wind rushed through the Orange mares mane as she came thundering down the hill, hooves blazing. Arome was in a bit of a foul mood earlier from the heat but running had lightened her up. Though she now was drenched and foaming in sweat the breeze that rushed by cooled her down some.
Up the hill she went again, not to far from the river. She had not noticed the brightly colored stallion yet but wasnt really looking for others at the moment, just more concentrated on running up and down that big hill.
Down the hill she rushed again, tossing her head an drearing as well as bucking a bit. Fit and energetic the younge mare seemed to almost dance up and down the hill. Unlike her sisters and brother she was feminine but still seemed to hasve alot of spunk. Teirce was manly in her way though her and arome seemed to be alot alike other then teirce was a bit Niave and not as energized. Her brother was lazy, and her other sister.. well she didnt know much about her.
But as soon as she came out of her thoughts she had hit the river and felt the cool water on her pelt. Sighing she closed her eyes, panting heavily as she lowers her sweat drenched head. Her long mane, weighed down by the heat and sweat droped over her white face. With black eye lids closed she relaxed as the cool water his her legs and a bit of stem rose from it. Flicking her curly tail she just stood there enjoying the cool on her legs.

The stallion continued to take a long drink. The cool water rushed down his throat and was an immediate relief from the heat. Spotty didn't think it was possible but it seemed to get hotter as the day went on.
This peaceful drinking was quickly over as Spotty realized that he was no longer alone. From a nearby hill came the sound of pounding hooves, followed by a loud splashing. Droplets of water hit Spotty's colorful body and were quite welcomed. Looking up, the stallion could see that a mare had just dashed into the river. The mare's actions seemed weird at first, but Spotty found that he was now craving to run and play. The recent heat wave had left him tired and Spotty knew that resting would only make him even more tired. Plus, a game like water tag sounded like a lot of fun...
Spotty, being far from shy, began to make his way to where the mare stood. He wasn't about to let his chance to play keep on walking. Hopefully she wouldn't mind some company.

Hearing the beating and splashing of nearby hooves the orange mares whit face popped up, banges drenched and hanging over her white face her chocolate eyes peered out to the spotted stallion. Offering a kind smile she turned to fac him, curious about his coloring but more about his intentions.
He seemed to have a goal and far be it for the mare to stand in his way, her curly tail merly tickled the waters surface as her long mane hung deep down over the small pebbles and rocks. Her voice came out from her, perhaps not what one expetced, strong and not tired at all her voice called out, still smiling as she was;
" Hello Stranger, IS there somethign i can help you with?"

Spotty stopped walking a stood a few feet away from the mare, letting his hooves cool as the water ran passed them. Colorful ears gave a slight twitch when she spoke. Despite her tired appearance, the mare's voice was quite firm but was friendly at the same time. Having a polite side, the stallion decide to give a proper greeting.
"Hello, I'm Spotty Paws or Spotty for short," he said with a smile, "I noticed you were running and realized that I could go for a run too, or even a game. That is, if you would like to join me. "
Spotty didn't like to stall and usually got straight to the point when he had something to say. Legs now itching to run, Spotty hoped the mare would accept his invitation.

" Arome"
She smiled and paced a bit on the spot. Even tough She had jsut ran she was still very much egar to go as well. Listening closely she splashed in the water a bit and responded soon after.
" Hmm well i suppose, i am after all very much energized, just let me have a quick drink.."
gently lowering her neck she drank long and deep. Though after a while she had stopped and started to lower herself. Now Arome was proceeding to roll in the water, which may of looked odd to others but since it was so hot out she didnt care. Getting up quickly after rolling over successfully two time she shook herself a bit, and now her hair moved from infront of her face though it stuck close to her body. Trotting a bit she went itno a lope out of the water and smiled as she looked back to him.

After the greeting were given, Spotty's heart began to race. It felt like it had been ages since he last played a game. Now he just had to wait until she Arome was ready. The few moments of drinking seemed to last a lifetime. Spotty let out a small laugh when the mare rolled in the water. "She seems like a lot of fun..." the stallion thought as he watched her.
Spotty followed behind Arome as she walked. Flicking his brightly colored tail, he sent a small splash that hit the mare's orange coat. "What game would you like to play?" he questioned, "Or we could just run around."
