Scyeth was, as he very frequently did, gliding around the school on his beloved skateboard. Banish was no where to be found, so the blond was free to do as he will. Skateboarding, not homework, was always the Aussie's top priority. It was more than an obsession, it was an addiction, one Scyeth had no desire to quit. He was forced to leave his surfboard and dirtboard at home; he wasn't about to cut the only remaining board out of his life. There was time for homework when it was dark, or if he was feeling sneaky, he'd attempt to do it during class. (Wouldn't that go over well.)

And so, as Scyeth pondered these possibilities, he forgot to pay attention to where he was going. You'd think he'd learn, having bumped in to students and fallen down more than one flight of stairs. He was lucky he'd avoided the teachers so far, though there was no doubt the universe one day intended him to hit one of them too. For the time being, he'd have to face another problem. He rounded a corner entirely too fast, thoughts disrupted as he readjusted his balance.

Suddenly, Scyeth found himself slamming into something, or rather, someone. "Damnit!" he cursed, bracing to hit the ground.

Having just left his dorm for a stroll (and possibly snacks in the mall). the blond-haired young man had the least idea of what was in store for him as approached the corner of the dorm building upon exiting. If he had paid attention, the flying object that suddenly had appeared at the turn of the corner could have been easily avoided. However, this was not the case. Before More would even gape at Scyeth's rather wild encounter, he was slammed down to the ground without defense, his head almost hitting the hard concrete floor. The young man let out a shout of surprise only after he had landed, obviously not alarm enough to be in the mindset of defending himself from accidents like this. He was quick enough, however, to bounce back up after he had realized what had happened in order to get a clear look. More blinked at the other boy, baffled, but nontheless trying to be friendly.

"I'm sorry, are you alright?"

Scyeth was grumbling and groaning as he rolled to his back. Having landed in a tangle of limbs, it occurred to him he really needed to stop having these encounters, or he really was going to need his roommate to doctor him up. Ug. He pushed himself up, rubbing the back of his head as he glanced up to see who exactly he had hit. The blond frowned. He hadn't met this fellow, and why was he apologizing? Scyeth adjusted his hat and got to his feet, brushing his pants off. Well, since the other guy had already taken the blame, Scy wasn't going to fight him for it.

"What are you, blind?" he scowled. "Or just dumb?" Honestly, how many people would just walk into a skateboard struggling to regain his balance.

He rubbed the back of his head again, narrowing his eyes to get a better look at the other student. But damn, his head hurt. "Freakin' corners," he mumbled under his breath. This had happened how many times? No. This never happened at home. He wouldn't be crashing into people if he could actually see them. "I hit you hard?" he asked, watching the stranger suspiciously. He had hit him at full speed. Didn't that hurt?

More watched Sythe, slightly amused by the youth's energetic demeanor. The boy certainly wasn't what he'd consider "nice" (as wild as his actions, More figured this wasn't anything out of ordinary) from the way he spoke. The young man felt a slight sense of embarrassment when Scythe scowled. He refrained from showing it and gave no response. It wasn't until later when the boy shifted his attention from him just briefly did More realize that the boy was perhaps not looking for an answer. He couldn't help but to chuckle at the idea, and slowly got up from the ground, shaking his head while smiling.

"No, what about you? Doing a sport like this here---in this area---is quite dangerous."

More wasn't going to lie. The force that the boy had exerted would likely to hurt under normal circumstances, but for him, it felt much less. Physically, the young man was well fit. He was also conscious of Scyeth's height compared to himself. The young man was suddenly conscious of the fact that he was not around the same age group as many of the students here, even though he still seemed young compared to the teachers (with the exception of Lorioth, who had the demeanor of a little girl at times).

Scyeth wasn't sure he liked this fellow. He shook his head again, giving the pain its last attention. He needed to focus on this weirdo. Not that Scyeth should talk, but at least he didn't stick out like a sore thumb. "Yes I got hit hard," Scyeth hissed, mushing the words together. Of course it hurt! He just hit the floor, the concrete floor, with his face! Faces were not meant to be wiped across concrete floors, thank you very much! At that thought, Scyeth touched his face gingerly. It wasn't bleeding. Good. It seemed, in the twists and turns of his fall, the back of his head managed to take the brunt of fall. As long as he didn't get a lump, he didn't particularly care. A concussion, he could live with. A lump, no way.

"Yes, it's dangerous," Scyeth finally replied. Why else would he do it? "But there aren't many other places to board here, y'know." Not like his home, that was for sure. He gave More another appraising look. "Can you skateboard?" he asked, snorting. Yeah, right. He hadn't met a single boy here who could (which, in reality, was really rather sad). And even if he could, that wasn't really the question the blond was asking. What he really meant was 'can you skate better than me?'

"Ah...I'm sorry." The young man was a little surprised at Scyeth's answer. His smile didn't fade, however, as his single eye remained on the boy gently, trying as best as he could to appear friendly and harmless. That didn't remain very long, much to More's disappointment. The boy in front of him was surely full of surprises! More wasn't sure if he liked it, but a challenge, that was a bit fast. It was obvious that Scyeth loved the sport even though it was dangerous. But More saw something deeper, a love for excitement...

The young man shook his head and gave a chuckle. "Hm, not quite. " For someone who didn't know anything about his past, More wasn't sure if he had known how to skateboard. "I'd love to learn if you are willing to show me though."

Scyeth sighed. Anyone who was willing to learn couldn't be all bad. "Yeah, sure, I guess," Scy replied, aggression slowly fading away. He wasn't half bad when he wasn't feeling indignant and what not. "Do you know anything at all?" he asked, backtracking a few steps to find his skateboard. She had rolled away while he was chatting it up with the older blond. Ah ha! He trotted a few feet behind the corner and snatched the black-and-white checkered skateboard. He stepped on and rolled back over to the stranger.

"I'm Scyeth, by the way."

He got off the board, resting just a foot on it. He wasn't entirely sure if he wanted someone else on his precious board. What if he slipped and snapped his board in half? Or what if he was a pretender much like himself and stole his board? (Not to say Scy is a thief.) Well, if he tried that, he'd just have to beat the kid up. Yeah. Initiate some sort of scuffle. Scyeth grinned to himself. He hadn't had a nice scuffle for quite a while.

More eyed the skateboard. It was...a board, with small wheels.

"I'm afraid not..." The young man shook his head and smiled apologetically. He stood here he was, carefully watching the way Scyeth handled the skateboard so he'd have some idea. It was good to see the boy willing to open up and teach More...which meant he was not as bad as More had thought.

"Scyeth, nice to meet you. I am More."

The young man lend out a hand as an invitation to shake with Scyeth. Perhaps...this could be the first step to becoming used to this school.

Scyeth eyed More's offered hand like he just grew a third arm. Oh. Right. He took the blond's hand and gave a quick shake. Alright, now that that was out of the way, they could get down to business. He stepped all the way off his board and gave her one last, apologizing look before toeing her over to More. She'd have to do a lot of teaching. Scyeth was still convinced he needed to teach his bookwormy little roommate how to board as well. At least More didn't seem quite as hopeless as little RuiZhi. (Though, much to Scyeth's surprise, RuiZhi did prove to be very exciting when the need arose.)

"Alright. Well, why don't you just try stepping on her for now. Put one foot on each side, it's a lot easier to balance than if both your feet are together and in the middle."

They could try moving once Scyeth was sure More could balance. He didn't need to be responsible for anymore crashes today.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 08, 2007 11:41 am

Now that was quick. It wasn't as surprising, but nonetheless, More was amused by speed in which things are happening. He didn't say anything else (and it doesn't look like Scyeth was interested in talking), and followed Scyeth's instructions. Placing one foot on the skateboard, More had a chance to examine the "her" underneath him more clearly. It must have been something that the boy treasured dearly.

As More shifted to place his other foot, he was startled at the fact that the board moved from where it was due to the force exerted by his other foot. Trying to regain balance, the young man forced a smile on his face as if he was challenged to a competition. This didn't look as easy as it seemed.

Carefully, making sure not to exert too much force this time, More eventually brought himself onto the skateboard. His feet were stuck on the surface firmly, trying to keep control so the board doesn't slide by itself again. The young man felt a little awkward as he was suddenly a few inches taller, considering that he was already taller without the board underneath. Instinctively he bend down a little, trying to retain his orginal height.

Scyeth chuckled a little, actually smiling for the first time since this morning. At least More was trying. And he did get it on the second try, so he wasn't entirely hopeless. But balancing on a skateboard that wasn't moving wasn't that much of a challenge. "Time to balance while your moving," Scyeth said, not giving More much of a chance. He stepped forward, inspecting the situation. Well, More probably couldn't push himself just yet. "I'm gonna give you a push."

Scyeth's smile turned wicked. "You can stay crouched if you want. Being lower usually helps with the center of gravity. Got that? Good. Ready? Here you go!" And with that, Scyeth gave More a good shove right in the center of his back. "Don't fall off!" he hollered.

More didn't have the time to give Scyeth a decent smile before suddenly finding himself, or rather, his feet, moving forward along with the skateboard under the boy's force.

"What---" More almost yelped as he lost balance and fell backwards. A bit more prepared this time, the young man was not about to let himself fall onto the ground again. Swiftly he turned, pushing down against the skateboard while his other foot reached out to touch the ground. While landing safely with one foot, he was a bit disoriented by the motion surged from the other foot, which forced him to let go and stumble. More felt a brief sensation of pain as his other foot was jerked along by the momentum, which under normal stances could give him an injured ankle.

"What was that for?" Panting in surprise, More shifted his attention to Scyeth. His voice wasn't angry, but there was a hint of demand to it.

Scyeth frowned as soon as he realized More was going to bail. Hey! Hey! He asked to learn! Why the hell would he bail if he wanted to learn!? It wasn't like he had even pushed More hard, and he was barely rolling faster than a walk. Or something. It didn't occur to the blond that maybe his version of easy was a little different from someone who hadn't ever been on a skateboard before. Scyeth disapproved, no matter the cause or the reasoning. And here he was thinking More might not be so bad after all.

"Sissy," Scyeth hissed, trotting after his runaway board. "That was easier than making you push yourself.

Once she was retrieved, Scy came rolling back. That was weird. More didn't seem like he was in pain. At all. He could have sworn the other blond had twisted his ankle in some unhealthy manner. He frowned. Well, maybe he had seen wrong. He shrugged, looking More again. "So, you gonna try again, or would you just bail?"

The young man felt a slight heat radiating up to his cheeks. He shook his head and sighed. "You did it without a warning, I wasn't prepared, that's all." More wasn't about to argue with Scyeth, for he had a feeling that it would not be the best thing to do. This did not mean, however, that he was willing to admit what the other boy thought of him. So instead, he gave Scyeth a smirk.

"Of course I'll try again. I'm not that easily defeated."

Scyeth rolled his eyes. He warned More! He just wasn't paying attention, or something. Or perhaps it was that language disconnection thing, though Scy highly doubted that. Wherever the other blond was from, he seemed to have a pretty good grasp of the English language. But as soon as More smirked, the challenge was back on.

"You gonna freak out when I push you this time?"
