Her vacation to the ocean front had done wonders. Her deep sky blue pelt still had the faint scent of the salty waves. Even if she would never see what a wonderful sight it really was, the scents and the time spent there in the company of another lion like herself was well worth the trip.
Umasikini'mzaliwa prowled deep in her mind. She could feel the hackles of the other presence lifted and a steady growl. For once, Monifa'nkiruka was determined to have her vicious half be put to rest for good. To be free to do whatever she could, what a dream.
She walked onwards feeling the sun shine down upon her back. She swung her gray tail behind her as if it was a toy for her to play. Today was going to be an interesting battle.

The adolescent male yawned and uncurled from his rock. He sleepily looked about for his partner in crime but it seemed Siyo had gone off on his own for the day. "Pro'ly teh brood." He smirked.
He stood and started to slink through the lands, tail flicking back and forth to keep the nasty, black flies off of him. His mind was half no Nadra and half on the other females he'd met around this area. He almost didn't want to leave, but he would soon anyways. He was ready to get on with his journey. He was thinking about asking Nadra to come along... but he hadn't been able to ask Siyo yet.
His pale eyes flickered slightly to the left when something blue caught his gaze and a slow grin flowed over his maw. A new lady to meet! "Oy, 'ey there." He called, his voice friendly and up beat.

She turned her face in the general direction the voice had come from and in that brief instant her face looked like a horrible snarl would issue forth. "I do have a name," she replied coldly. Her features smoothed, almost appearing like a completely different lioness. "What's your name?"
She had slipped. So occupied with her mind, she had let go of her grasps on Uma for one split second. She couldn't even recall what the other's reply had been. Was her darker side starting to block her off too?

He winced at her initial lashing and looked rather confused. Well he didn't know her name, now did he? He thought it best to keep his mouth shut about that little fact though. He felt a little on edge around this lady and he wasn't sure why he automatically felt like that. The initial snapping? Maybe.
"M'name is Sawa... an' wha' can I call the pretty lioness?" He said with a grin.

There was a low growl as she said, "pretty?" The permanent snarl had come back on her features and there was a vicious glint in her eye. "Umasikini'mzaliwa. Learn to fear that name," she hissed.
Her face smoothed out and the lioness was dazzled wondering what had happened. It was just a blank space. "Monifa'nkiruka. Pleasure to meet you Sawa," she smiled brightly, her eyes looking out beyond him.

Sawa hesitated and his ears pinned back in a defensive, almost hostile way. Though many thought Sawa very unintelligent this was not the case, he was just lazy. And often he thought more with his er... heart than his head. Any smart male would clearly see something was very wrong with this lioness, flip-flopping between sweet and fearless and calling herself two different names! Sawa saw this as a challenge.
But now which name was he supposed to address her by? Actually he'd rather be calling her the name he wasn't supposed to fear. Though the battle of how she was act strained his face his voice was still pleasant and cheerful. "Monifa'nkiruka, a mouth full. But a lovely mouthful!" He chuckled. "Min' if I call yeh Moni?" He'd call her the full name if that was what she wished, but he'd rather something shorter and cuter!
"Do yeh live aroun' these parts?" He looked around slowly and whistled low. "I do no' think I've e'er actually been 'ere... which be a shock cause I 'ave been a lot o' places."

She could feel her grip on the cell that contained Uma slipping even further. This frightened her more than anything. Peace, she had finally experienced peace and it was shattering around her. She didn't respond to him immediately, battling against her darker half. "Don't you call her..." it was cut off and the snarling voice was trapped inside her mind for now.
"No, I don't live around here. I don't have a home." Her ears seemed to actually visibly droop with that news. How she wished to be rid of this darker half and live peacefully in one spot.

He winced and then relaxed. Oh, was she fighting her mean side? Sawa pondered over this, wondering what exactly was wrong with her. It would probably be too rude to ask though, wouldn't it?
His head tilted as she seemed to look upset that she had no home. "Yeh dislike travelin' then?" He slowly asked, frowning himself. Actually there weren't many who knew who could travel their whole lives. He could though, he could.

She spoke in her light-hearted tone, sounding very breathless and a bit spacey. "I think I'm getting too old to travel around so much," she said with a full hearted chuckle. She had to scramble quickly to keep a firm grip in her mind, her emotions were making her lose control. "I take it you enjoy the freedom it gives you?"

He liked her breathlessness, her spaceyness. Regardless of why she was acting that way!
"Too old?" He said, brows climbing high. "Yeh' do no' look so old to me." He purred out with a laugh. He shifted and nodded at her question.
"Aye, nothin' like bein' this free." He grinned, nothing would change that opinion of being a rogue. Others told him it was nice to settle down and keep a family... but why couldn't he travel between several families or bring his families with him? That sort of thing. "I been travelin' since I was a cub so i's pre'y natural fer me."

She couldn't see him to be able to tell what age he was. Her sense of smell only seemed just as jumbled up as her natural scent was from all the traveling. He was obviously telling the truth that he was indeed a rouge much like herself. "Thank you," she said with a smile, stepping closer to him.
A little flirting wouldn't hurt. Perhaps it would calm Uma down if she started using her talents more? "Sounds like a path very similar to mine. I've been on my own since a few months after birth. The open spaces are the only home I know. But I am rather old," she said with a wink of her sightless eye. Freedom would indeed be wonderful.

He just chuckled and shook his head. "Aye aye, bu' yeh don' look it." He repeated quietly, feeling quite warm and happy. He enjoyed when the females flirted back, it always made it much more worth while.
She smelt lovely, as most females did to him and he couldn't wait to brag to Siyo about all the lovely females he ran into. Better yet was the fact that her mood swings had seemed to calm down! "Bu' I do know o' some pre'y nice spo's teh settle in if yeh truly woul' like a home." He grinned, shifting and sitting slowly so he was still just as close to her.
"No' far from 'ere are the pridelands, very lovely there. An' south be the Kusini lands, i'sa bi' cooler in those par's though I 'ear the main pride be full o' family." He wrinkled his nose. Yeah, Siyo's family... and his father. It was odd to run into the adult there... "Bu' wha' kinda place do yeh be lookin' for swee'eart?"

She moved in closer to him, circling around him and letting her tail brush across his chest. She turned her head back to him, still staring passed him but gave a sweet smile. "I'm not too picky on where I stay. Brooding, plotting, and traveling aren't my cup of tea."
She let her blue and white paws touch the grassy ground a few more times and pretended to look out to the wilderness. She couldn't see the sight that was before her, only darkness, but gave a very heavy sigh.

He just chuckled and nodded. "Then yeh wou' be 'appy teh sit in this spot fore'er eh?" He teased playfully.
He finally was realizing that she could not see, sometimes Sawa was a bit slow. He worked out how he felt about it and decided it was very charming that she could see nothing, it meant that she was strong and determined. Being blind was a weakness, but she didn't let it detir her. "'ow long 'ave yeh no' been able teh see?" He asked.

She gave a start, not realizing that he had managed to figure out that was indeed blind. She forced her eyes to blink a few times trying to figure out when he had made that guess. "Since I was a cub. I wasn't born blind, the plague took it." A simple, easy statement. It didn't speak merely of her handicap, but also of her age.
