I lay here on the floor calmly carving my name into the frame of my bed. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to carve in Greek on a bed frame. Umbra won't care she'll just accept it as another part of my artistic expression and let it pass, which is of course best. I've been here a few days now ever since ladyumbra stopped by the mansion to arrange a talk with the butler. She spotted squire attempting to pummel me for having cut his hair and written visit for a bad lay on his bedroom door in pink pastel.

So far I fin the people and things here interesting. As artistic subjects they will all have a good deal to offer. Dare and I seem to be steeping around each other on eggshells neither of us wanting the start the first inevitable fight. Him because he fears being called jealous. Me because it will upset the flow of energy in the house and the energy of on edge tension helps me create such nice master pieces.

With one ear pressed to the floor I can hear umbra talking-to her friend Nephrenia about taking me shopping tomorrow and getting me registered for school since I expressed an interest in socialising with those of my physical; age. Letting my gaze wander from the knife in my hands I focus on the pan of wax bubbling on the heater. It's time to seal the energy of the room.

Decsuna the slipper pup is missing and thus my plans to seal the room were disrupted. Concerned about the well being of the innocent creature and knowing the that household would be causing a racket to fine her I put my plans aside. I know they will find the mutt eventually and thus have started construction of a dog house for her when she returns. It's obviosu that Izari has made her feel threatened and that she needs her own place.

However the shopping trip went on as planned with Umbra placing lost dogs signs every we went. Nephrenia and umbra dragged me everywhere in sear of clothes. Well in sear of pants mostly. I still refuse to wear shirts even to school. Fortunately umbra was rather persuasive with the principle about letting me express my..creativity and clothing preferences.

In the end we settle on a a rather interesting pair of pants Here.a couple pairs of jeans than I could draw on and a pair of dark pink sneakers.

While we were out I also managed to procure a small sample of dragons blood, some ebony chaos incense and a rather interesting vial of aquamarine ink. This should make for a rather unique set up of my…studio as umbra has granted me an entire room aside from the one I sleep in to create things in. it too will need warding and a special blessing to help conjure creative energy.

Things have changed a lot around the house lately. Dares hoem a lot less often, Miss Umbra is running around panic talking about moving. I hope she reconsiders, I've finally placed the energies in my rooms the way I want them.

School starts soon and I will be joining the masses in order to learn. I am starting to think it was a bad idea to want to study people for art in that situation. Miss umbra and I have already had three fights about it. First on the food I will take as a lunch second on my lack of permission to leave school property no matter what I see and third on the rights of the other students to remain unharassed. Personally I think she's overreacting.

I suppose school will be more interesting than hoem life though.
Dares rarely ever around except for his lessons theses days. Most of his time is dedicated to whatever current play he's in working to buy a car a managing keep up being home schooled. Decs and M'hall appear to have stolen the backyard for things only they understand. Izari well even I don’t know what Izari does simply that she leaves early in the morning appears for lunch then disappears again not to be seen until late at night.

My own days are usually spent research gin and creating. Currently I'm working on a painting of Dare on stage in his princess dress. It was a rather amusing sight and I have to admit the boy is getting rather good at his chosen art. He's also managed to learn a good deal about people like he originally intended to. Personally drama is far to social an art for me my energies can't be forced to mix with others so much not matter what is crated.

" Tybalt have you showered yet" miss umbra voice filted through my door.

I look down at my hands, which are now coated, in a creamy pastel. When I turn my head I can see bits of died clay falling off my hair. " No I'll do it tomorrow" I reply, I'm busy I need to start braiding the hair I harvested before it gets unusable

" Shower now kid you have ten minutes" she called back and I heard her footsteps slowly walk away. She wasn’t lying I wasn’t in the shower in ten minutes she'd come in and forcibly put me there, it wasn't a pleasant thought, grumbling to myself I stood and grabbed my towel off the dresser I'd spent hours to create the look I had no not on purpose but still, well ok the way my eyes and lisp stood out were on purpose.

I sit on the bus and stare blankly at the teacher. Here monotone voice drones on and on as she informs us of proper etiquette at the orange hills pumpkin patch and orchard. We all know the rules though, smile for the owners. Say please and thanks you, don’t touch anything expensive and pretend to be interested in how pumpkins grow.

Once Mrs. O' riley was through her speech we got off the bus and took in our surroundings. Some of the girls squealed pointing to the not even remotely menacing looking corn maze guarded b two mediocre scarecrows. Most of the boys eyed the pumpkin patch and I could see them sizing up the gleaming orange and white gourds even from a distance.

I shrugged and merely followed Mrs. o'riley to the petting zoo part of the farm there were a couple of goats some old looking sheep and lama. As farmer whatever began in on how the animal manure helped made good fertiliser for the pumpkins and apples I began to envision my masterpiece. I would need a white pumpkin of course one that was relatively uniform in shape and want too big so as to have its curvature destroy the depth necessary to make the carving look correct. Unfortunately my vision doesn't last as long as it takes for each kids to place there soft city hands on one of the many flea ridden animals here for our enjoyment. The only really entertaining part was when Maryanne a literal dumb blond thought on of the goats was giving another a piggyback. I think perhaps parents need to educate their children a bit better.

Next we move onto the corn maze we are paired up and sent in into 30 second intervals to make our way through the many twists and turns of dried corn stalks. I'm the odd kid out in the class which is just fine . I wind my way through the path occasionally a yellowed husk brushing against my bare chest., ahead of me I can here a group of voic3es arguing about which way to go and why. Lost already? Admittedly the maze will take a few minutes to navigate and the farmer did good job keeping us from getting a look at the tops of the corn to see the pattern but still. I sigh and proceed forewarn passing the arguing group of girls one of whom is crying .

For reasons I can't explain I grab her hand and lead her away from the group, she doesn't protest but she doesn't stop sniffling either. Justine I think her name is. She's a pretty little brunette with the most photogenic freckles in the world, she'll be very attractive when she grows up. We make our way through the maze passing most of the rest of the class who are stopping to fool around in barrels made for us to go through or leaving and the maze and running through eh corn itself. For a moment Justine looks curios as if she's thinking of doing it herself

' some of the husks are still ripe enough to cut you to ribbons" I say calmly still leading her.

she nods and follows wordlessly. We are the first out of the maze which in no way surprises our teacher because she knew I wasn't going to fool around in there. To me a maze just isn’t art it's a solvable problem.

Justine and I make our way to the craft table where the farmer's plump smiling wife shows us how to make miniature scarecrows. Justine's turns out someone cute looking and lien could feasible hang a small bird if it landed on the arms hard enough. I do believe Mrs. O' riley is going to call lady umbra tonight not that I care I'm a free spirit.

Once we'd all made it through the maze and made scarecrows we got to drink a cup or war or cold apple cider each. I chose the warm it burnt my tongue but tasted amazing and was somewhat invigorating. Finally it was on to the big event picking out pumpkins. We all raced into the field and began inspecting them for size shape colour and every other nitpicky detail kids possibly could. Amazingly I was the first done either because I had a clear idea of what I wanted or because fate let me trip over the perfect pumpkin.

On the ride home I pondered many things. Why did I help Justine, would umbra let me set up my scarecrow and was there a height limit to the flames of a local bonfire in our area.
