With Kileyo all grown up and on his own, Fortune found herself feeling...nostalgic. Being a mother had filled up her life for a good time and though Killy had been the bane of her existence at the time and she often had left Safi in charge of the young alicorn while she wandered off to fill her wanderlust she found herself missing the fact she had something to come home to every night.
The dark mare was currently laying beside a tiny stream that flowed through the lands and had her head pressed against a nearby tree, eyes crossed to look at a bug that had landed on her nose. It tickled, but it was amusing and thus she forced herself to remain as still as she possibly could so it didn't fly away. Most would be shooing it off. But Fortune wasn't most!
Brain went around in circles as she thought about things - but with Fortune nothing could stay serious for long and so when the bug inched a bit in the wrong direction a giant sneeze was given, sending her head forward then backwards to slam into the bark.
Which drew out a long, unhappy yowl. "BAD TREE!"
Yes. Only Fortune would scold a tree.

It had recently just dawned on Marius that all his latest companions had been of the female gender. He didn't mind the estrogen-filled conversations, as he was sure that they were only looking for someone to talk too and possbly a friend. Whether or not their feelings were beyond that were not taken notice of, as though Marius was quite wise, he was also quite oblivious.
Musing over his current companions, a painful yowl pierced through the silence. He paused in step alongside the stream, his ears perking forward against their will. He could not make out the words, but he could tell who they came from. Up ahead he could see another of his kind glowering at a tree. A mare, at that. He mentally sighed and picked up his pace. it was best to see hwt was wrong and continue on his way. Sometimes he just wasn't quite in the mood to tarry with others.
A few feet away from the dark hued mare with the green markings, he side noted that she was much like him in clor scheme. Offering a polite look of concern (and he quite was; nobody else was nearby, so she could've been talking to herself), and inclined his ehad forward as he spoke. "Miss? Something happen here?"

The voice made Fortune go still. The tree was talking? Oh god, the tree was talking. It was some shaman who had been turned to a tree that she was yelling at and now she was going to have the wrath of the Gods flail down and knock her in her head with some kind of dark magic or thunderbolt or croaky frogs that would give her warts! Screeching in fear, the black mare scooted back immediately, "Sorry! Sorry! Good tree, GOOD tree! I didn't mean it, I swear! Please don't kill me!" Huff, huff, pant, pant. Panic had set in. That is, until she backed up and into Marius. Oh. OH.
Breathe, Fortune. Breathe. The tree didn't talk to you. You weren't going to gets warts. Good. Good. Head tilted backward and sea-green eyes looked up at the stallion, "It's just you, then. I thought I was going to die! Hi!"
Man, this female had more mood swings than a pregnant woman on steroids.

Marius stood dumbstruck at the mare's screaming. The tree? What was with that tree? It dawned all too slowly on the stallion that she thought that his voice was the tree's, and she was frightened. He took a few steps back, but she kept backing up. With a glance behind him, he recognized that letting her walk right into him would keep her from walking backwards. Quite dangerous to do so... And yet, this mare probably didn't know what was what by the sound of it.
At the contact, he stood strong and let her calm down. He kept his face stoic, though confusion was inevitably seen in his eyes. Mrius had no clue what to think of her! She thought th tree was talking... And then she spoke to him like she had just been saved. Was she alright in the head?
That was rude, he grumbled internally.
He took a step back to allow the mare space, offering her a very unsure but polite smile. It didn't reach his eyes, as he was quite uncertain if she would all of a sudden freak and dart at him. No no... Don't doubt her. She may have just woken up.
"Die? A little excessive, no?" He chuckled nervously, bowing his head politely. "May I ask what exactly the tree did to frighten you so?"

Fortune? Right in the head? Well, that could be debated. She wasn't actually insane...She was just a little eccentric, that was all! Didn't like to keep serious for long and looked at life like a game. Much like the fellow parent of her little son who was not-so-little anymore. She was perfectly fine now that she didn't think the tree was going to smite her or something, though!
The dark mare slowly pushed herself to her feet and shook to remove grass and dust from her coat, "Mm, not excessive, no. Not when it's nearing the time of the snow two leggers again. They come alive, you know." firm nod. Had it really been a year since she met Safi? Christ. "But that's beside the point! The tree hit me in the back of the head and then you started talking and I thought it was some shaman who had gotten turned into a tree. Because really, why would a tree hit me and then start talking when I yelled at it? But it wasn't, because it was you talking." a firm nod of her head again and she offered him a warm smile. "I'm Fortune! It's nice to meet you. Especially since you're not going to give me warts."
Not exactly the most frightening thing on four legs, was Fortune. Just a little odd.

Marius gave her a funny look, unsure of whether or not to play along. She thought trees could attack people? He swallowed hard, wondering if he should play along. He bet it would make this mare happy... But it would certainly give him a headache! He offered a kind smil, deciding to correct ehr.. But in a playful manner? He hoped it would work. He had never encountered a nutcase before... He frowned at his thoughts. that was horribly rude of him to think!
Just as he opened his mouth, she had introduced herself and brought up warts. Against his will, he stiffled a light chuckle. Despite being rather weird, she was... Funny? And awkward.
"Well Fortune, I sppose I'm fortunate to meet you, no?" He said, smiling at the pun though uncertain that she would get it. He bowed his head politely and continued, "I'm Marius, Fortune... And I'm sorry, but trees are plants. I'm fairly sure they do not attack others." He said with a light, playful tone that was not usual for him.
