Assilimation into the packlife had not been easy. For some reason or the other Gerda did not fully make it back into her own lands and to the safety of her beloved home. One could not say whether this was by her own doing, or by Ziva's, whose care she was thrusted upon. No, blame would befall no one and the past memories would lie dormant in forgotten times. The fact still remained was that her family pack was far far away and she was now sucked into the world of Gomorrah.
Ziva had taught her well, and for these few moons things went by without a hitch. Tabansi, brute that he was, often stared at her from a distance. Gerda was no fool. She knew exactly what was going on inside that twisted head of his. Anyone with a fourth of a brain could figure that out. And if they didn't, well his irritating whining and drooling as he looked upon her would be a tell tale sign. But, Ziva kept him away as she promised the young adult, and Gerda was ever thankful to that.
The monster could look, but he could not touch.
But, Gerda was growing restless. Ziva kept such a close eye on her that the femme swore she slept with one eye open. She wanted to be alone. She had long since given up hope that she would ever find her pack again, but all the same she wanted to stretch her legs. Solitude was a great vice when you surrounded by so many all day long. As soon as she would find an opportunity she swore that she would escape the madlands. Not to find the pack. But, perhaps just to clear her head.
And soon, yes very soon she got her chance.

Tabansi was a patient wolf. He was old and growing older as each moon drifted past the clouds to give rise to a new day. He knew the value of waiting until the right time presented itself. Thus was the case with Gerda. Oh how the blue and white okapi striped male longed for her. He often dreamt of what it would like to be with her. His mind was plagued with this sickness and he could not get rid of it for want of loosing this feeling inside of himself. Inside his flesh and very bones. It was more then a want. More then lust. It was a need. Something that made his heart pound tightly against his ribs every time he looked upon her. And was it because she was a youth? The females he always seemed to crave?
Perhaps not....
It was true that Gerda was the youngest in the pack now, but she was was too far away from being an adult. Tabansi couldn't help but wonder, as he often did when strange notions entered his mind, what would happen when she DID grow up. Would this feeling go away as it did so often with the young ones?
He wasn't sure.
It had been easy with the others. Before he could have his fill, whether by mutual feelings or by force, but now...now he could not as easily forget Gerda when she grew. Maybe this was because she was unattainable. He did not get a chance to experience her fully. So maybe it was his normal desires added in with this feelings of wanting to catch her like any other prey. Or maybe it ran deeper then that. Tabansi WAS getting older and he probably the oldest in the pack. Maybe he felt the need, like most wolves did, to procreate before he met his form in dust. Either way he knew that Gerda would not leave his mind, not anytime soon....
Before he could fully realize the cope of these questions however, a glimmer of white against the darkness caught his eyes.

She waited patiently as she heard Ziva move off from their usual resting place and slink off to answer the call of their alpha, Lilith. There were times when Gerda followed and waited outside the alpha den, and there were other times when the young femme stayed behind. Either way she had always felt safe under the general's stead. Ziva was a wolf to be admired. She trained hard and knew what she was doing. Tabansi wouldn't stand a chance if he was ever dumb enough to make her mad a second time. He knew it, she knew it, everyone knew it. She had even instilled certain self defense techniques within the mute one and Gerda was learning more each and everyday. But, there was a problem on this blessed beautiful night.
Gerda was growing restless.
She was save here, but she no longer wanted to be 'here'. For just tonight, for just the moment couldn't she afford to be just a little reckless. Perhaps, no not perhaps...it most certainly was a stupid and immature ideal, but Gerda no longer cared. What was the point in being protected if all she ever did was...nothing. A protected life was no life at all! So tonight she wanted to let loose a little.
Once Ziva was out of sight the little white female slowly slinked away. She was almost an adult now, and surely the general would trust her to look at her own. Besides Tabansi would be stupid to ever try to lay a paw on her.
At least she hoped he wouldn't be that foolish.

He was that foolish.
It took Tabansi a few seconds to realize what the glimmer was. But, soon he knew that only one in the pack had a pelt that white. He stiffened, his blades rolling and his head keeping position to stare straight ahead. As if the sight of her was so intoxicating that he was growing drunk off of it. Finally the stupor wore off and he turned his great head to and fro, only one ear pricking forward while he felt phantom movement where his other ear should have been. The cost was clear.
Ziva was nowhere in sight.
He knew that Gerda was growing up. And he knew that soon she would be an adult. Ziva was training her in the ways of war and soon she would be much stronger then he could handle.
Yes, soon she would be out of his league.
It was now or never. But, how was he supposed to go about doing the act. What could he possibly do to approach her without her running or causing a commotion. He was growing old. He could not bear all of her as easily as he could when he was younger. Perhaps he could just come upon her like a civil person. All pleasantries. Like an old friend...and if she ran to her precious general, well then...
then Tabansi did not know. But he would cross that bridge as he came upon it.

As soon as she saw the great beast walking towards her, Gerda twitched and broke out into a fighter's stance. Her voice had been ripped from her at birth so instead of a deep throated growl the only thing that could escape her maw was a strange ghost of a hiss. Her teeth too were bared and it was very clear what she wanted with maddness in her eyes.
She wanted him to leave.
Her tail stood straight on end. Paws dug into the earth so hard that some of it was squishing beneath her toes, dampening the pure white fur and making it look like she was wearing socks of some sort. Ziva had taught her well. The first part of the attact was the LOOK. You must face your opponent and let them know that there were no games to be played here. This was the thick of the high, right in the midst of it all....and there was no turning back.
No calling it off, or saying 'okay I relent'. Perhaps this was easier for Gerda because such a thing would never be spoken from her regardless. It did not matter. Nothing did. Just this.
Only this.
She just wished she had a better opponent other then this four legged sorry excuse for a wolf.

Tabansi backed up slightly.
He was not expecting this! It was not clear what he WAS expecting, truth be known he was just going to wing it. But, he had at least expected her to act civil with him. Maybe he really SHOULD have been expecting this. After all, wasn't his sole purpose those many moons ago to lead her into a situation exactly like this? Take advantage of her poor and terrible disability? Yes.
But, he also wasn't expecting her to fight back!
"I'm not going to hurt you," He stammered quicky.
Though just be sure Tabansi too went into a fighter's stance. Though the great big wolf, whose blue okapi colored pelt might look like that of a warrior, was a lover and not a fighter. Again he felt phantom movement where his missing ear should have been. He did not want to fight Gerda, and he knew that to do so would be a grave mistake.
But, he would do what he most to get what he wanted.

Gerda held her ground.
She was no fool and though she may be mute that did not mean she was dumb or blind. If this idiot wanted to have his way with her, well then he was going to have to EARN it.
And by the looks of it....
No way in hell.
She continued to hiss/snarl, her eyes round and fiery like two great lit orbs in the darkness. Even the heavens above seemed to dictate to her fury as rolling clouds passed by, blocking the great moon from tearing down too hard upon the landscape below. The night seemed to grow darkest still and it illuminated Gerda's coat making her look like a ghost among the woods.
The mute one dared to step closer, putting on paw in front of the other and then dipping her head lower, legs bending to follow suit.
This would be a good stance to lunge up and rip Tabansi's throat out if he dared to make a move.
She hoped that he would.

Now this was unfortunate. It was then that Tabansi knew that there was no other way to do this, but by brutal force. He could just turn around and leave, but somehow that didn't seem like an approriate goal. Why should he play the part of the low omega when he was not. Tabansi was a gamma in the pack, and one of the oldest to boot. By his rightful place, he SHOULD be the one who held his ground and told Gerda that she WOULD do exactly what he wanted, when he wanted it, and how he wanted it.
No matter if she was his to claim or not.
There was still the problem with Ziva, but she was nowhere in sight. Time was of the essence though. He knew that feminist general would be waltzing back here to keep the 'big bad wolf' away.
He must act now.
Or he must forget about this quest for evermore.
His golden orbs fell across Gerda and the way she was standing. Ah, the typical throat lunge. Yes, Tabansi remembered the one well. He almost befell the move so long ago. But, no his throat had not been split. Instead, he ducked down right when the lunge was made, but the move was foolish.
He had a missing ear to prove it.
This time he knew exactly how to counter to the attack. He first feigned forward, moving his body so that Gerda would react and lunge upward to take his throat within her jaws. But, at the last second Tabansi pivoted and dove to the side before jumping behind the white femme.

Gerda was waiting, her body tense from the lack of movement she was forcing upon herself to ready for an future attack. Her jaw felt hot and heavy as if her own breath was wafting out and hitting herself full square on the snout. But, oh how she was aching. Just ACHING to get a bite in. Her eyes kept watch on his great form as if daring him to step forward. And then it happened. Tabansi made a full of himself and stepped towards her. Oh glorious day!
She lunged upward her jaws spread wide as her teeth glistened in the semi darkness. The points sharp and ready for the kill blow.
But, that did not happen.
Instead Gerda clamped her maw down on....air? Her mind barely hit the realization just as her paws hit the ground in a landing. Briefly, through her perphial vision, she saw the hint of light blue before she landed completely. Her tail curled in a quizative motion as she stood there, shaking off the newness of an air 'bite' instead of the intended blow.
She only stood in position for mere seconds before she realize her folly.
But, it was seconds too late.
Tabansi, the devil that he was, he jumped to the side of her instead of up like she was expecting. Which mean...
it was too late to understand the cusp of this folly. Too far late.
she felt a sharp pain in her back leg.

The warm coppery taste of blood flowed out from the sides of Tabansi's maw and the first thing he could think of was 'well that was a shame'. He did not want it to be like this, but here they were. If Gerda had played nice he would have treated her well.
It really didn't have to be like this.
He kept his jaws clamped around the back of her leg, his eyes squeezed shut and a series of low throaty growls escaping out from around the flesh. He wished this didn't have to happen, but Tabansi reacted only. He was caught up in the moment and thus Gerda would experience the world of pain.
If she had been a good girl, this didn't have to happen.
He knew that she could not issue a cry of pain so he only listened to her breathing to know that she was hurting. He did not clamp down too hard. It was enough to break the skin and make her bleed, but it was not enough to break the bones.
He was not that foolish, nor did he want to hurt her that severly.
He only meant to teach her a lesson.

Gerda was breathing hard. And in her mantra of pain the only think she could really register was that Tabansi had not yet let go. She stiffened, the feeling of coppery blood flowing freely from the wound on her back leg was enough to drive her insane. But, sanity stayed and she tried hard not to move, or do something rash. Blinking she slowly tried to take a step forward as she felt his jaws relax and then release completely. The step was completed and then she tested her injured leg by placing it on the ground.
The smallest ghost of a hiss escaped her maw as the pain stung through her body, but centered around the wound.
Hurt, but not broken.
She glared daggers at Tabansi then. But her expression was......softening.
What was this?
He had just HURT her! He had sunk his wretched jaws into her and caused her to bleed! This whole time Tabansi only wanted to take her as his own, and that was the extent of it. But somehow, because of this nefarious act...the fact that he had one upped her.....that he did not pity her or feel like she should be watched like a pup too stupid to look after itself....that he had actually treated her as viciously as anyone else did....
no she could never grow to love or admire him!
But perhaps...
she could find an ounce of respect for the beast.

It was funny how things had changed. How the wants and desires for a thing, something as simple as a young female could twist and turn. The want for just any nameless faceless female began to shift and mold together until they formed a name...a face....a persona. Had he grown to love Gerda? There was no doubt that he had. Still, he couldn't help but wonder if he simply loved the thought of being with her. The unattainable thing now caught, bagged, and tagged. But, what if this wasn't the case? What if this desire that drove him was no longer attributed to the concept of being with someone so much younger then himself. What if it went BEYOND that and settled on HER?
He supposed he would just have to see.
And see he did. The moonlight fell into her orbs of glass and reflected off of them, making her appear more ghostlike and elegant. He shifted his weight. The dry blood, her blood, on his maw was already caking with the wind and some of the dust like quality blew away with it. Weren't they a strange sight to behold. Her wounded with the accussing marks on his own snout.
The angel and the devil.
He stepped foward, eyes boring into her own and then he dipped his head down when he got close enough to touch. It was an act meant to nuzzle the side of his face, but it was stupid and rash. Exposing his complete ear directly to her sharp teeth.
He would hope she would know not to bite.

Gerda did not bite.
It was not because she somehow felt inferior to this monstrosity nor did she feel like she owed him something. No. None of those applied here. She did not move as he ran his disgusting head along the side of her shoulder, exposing his ear to her. She did not move when he looked back into her eyes and stayed there for what seemed like eternity. Gerda knew, like many wolves knew, that there was an unwritten rule to those who dominated and those who were dominated. There was no love here. There would never be love. She would as soon love him as she would willing turn her body to ash from death.
No, there was only the prize and the hunter.
She knew what had happened. It was the law of the woods. The law of all things, the natural order if you will. He had won her and that was that. Gerda did not know if he would stick around afterwards, nor did she really care. She only knew that she had lost. She had played a game that she thought she could easily win....
and she lost.
Ziva would be back soon. That much she knew. But, she was no fool though she had acted like one. Tabansi only needed a few minutes to tick by before he would have his fill and be done with her. She stayed still, ever still before she squeezed her eyes shut.
The sooner this was over with the better.

He got lost in her scent, finding it quite intoxicating. The smell, it allured him so and he forgot that she didn't want him to do this in first place. He forgot that Ziva would be back any moment now and either scare him away or kill him for disobeying her.
Tabansi had no doubt the latter would be the thing that happened.
But soon, so very soon, his brain stopped lagging by the very smell of her and he finished his nuzzles and nips. He had one this prey. He wanted to enjoy it as well!
But, time was of the essence.
So he took a step back, looking at Gerda one last time before he moved away and instead walked around behind her. Occassionally nipping or nuzzling the side of her body as he moved down. Down and down. He stopped at her back leg and inhaled sharply. The blood scent stung his nostrils and excited him all at once. He would greatly enjoy this. Whether she did or not....he certainly would. He finally made it to her backside and climbed up before wrapping his paws around middle.
Oh yes, he would enjoy this.

********PASSING OF TIME*************
When it was all over Gerda did not know what to do or think. Throughout it all she merely stared straight ahead. Looking at a spot in the tree as she seemingly took her mind away. Of course she knew what Tabansi was doing, but if she concentrated on this one spot bad enough she could pretend that wasn't even there at all. That she was somewhere else. Back at home, with her brother, her family...
and then it was over.
She blinked as Tabansi moved away from her. When before he could not keep his eyes off of her now he looked as though she had sucked all the life from him. But, it was not the act that had done it. It couldn't have been. He was old, but he wasn't THAT old. But, Gerda felt no care or cause to care. She turned away. Not being able to speak, she was used to the silence.
But, the silence was deafening.
Soon the quiet stillness was broken by something. A rustle of leaves from nearby movement. She looked over at TAbansi and knew exactly what that meant. Her savior.
Come far too late.
