I really like the Gorillaz. Less so their music (though I really like their music) than the concept that drives their existence. I'm in it more for the characters than the music. I haven't done any avatar editing in months, so I worry that this is terrible, but here is the first in a set of Gorillaz-themed avatar edits. Also, did I tell you guys that IGN found my avatar editing tutorial, and decided they wanted it? o_o; I'm not sure whether that's good or not, because I have no idea how they found it and that kind of creeps me out.

Those darker blue pixels on the outline on the pants really stand out to me. I don't know much about the costume design, but i might tweak those to make a more attractive outline.
it's mostly the part just below the crotch.

The Iconoclast I really like the Gorillaz. Less so their music (though I really like their music) than the concept that drives their existence. I'm in it more for the characters than the music. Same here. I've always liked the whole idea of an almost imaginary band.... well I mean since their self-title debuted, but anyways. The gorillaz and jamie hewlett's "tank girl" comic were what initialized my delve into serious art faggotry, I think, because of the really stylish, yet still dynamic and with some dimension of reality, and existance in art. My friend leah and I would always draw the gorillaz and compare (hers' being so much better, it would depress me; yeah way to go me.), and really, they inspired a lot of our own characters.... even "Staple" was from that era, even though he was really "gutter punx" inspired too.... at first. The Iconoclast Also, did I tell you guys that IGN found my avatar editing tutorial, and decided they wanted it? o_o; I'm not sure whether that's good or not, because I have no idea how they found it and that kind of creeps me out. Did they email you or something? Anyways, make them pay you ;] I need to start editing my avatar again... :l It's actually pretty good, I don't know if I can say one of my favorites by you, but it's still up there, especially considering your absense from avatar editing.

:D They want your tutorial?
That's kinda cool.
But, how would that work? .__.
Would they buy it from you? Or give you credit?
:O That's odd how they got ahold of it.

To me it is taste that seperates the art-fags from regular artists. I am surprised that YOU of all people would do avitar art, and even more surprised that you posted it... here.

Actually, the AFG accepts artists based on skill. I'm more likely to accept a "creative" artist than one who isn't, were I forced to choose, but skill is the primary qualifier. Sorry you don't like it, man. I guess I'll go back to mediocre pencil sketches, capiche?

I guess my comment touched a nerve or somthing, because Icono's spinibifida flared up somthing terrible. Mediocre pencil sketches? Yeh you should :]

Yeh you should :] I'm actually not attacking you, I'm just being honest. I do mediocre pencil sketches. I'm also being honest because skill is the primary qualifier for Art Fags Guildmembers. I'm not sure what your issue is. You can just be honest and spit it out if you've got bigger issues with the guild. We're all mature here.
