Torn and worn. Eyes tired, lids lowered halfway to peer out at the trail in a half hazard sort of mannor. Twilight trudged along the rocky path to their home....a thicket close to the heart of the mainland. Each footfall felt heavy to the stallion, stumbling once or twice on the occasional unseen rock. He was tired, so very tired from the sleepless nights he'd gotten from his worsening condition...the nightmares so vivid and reoccuring it was like he'd been warped back into the same situation over and over again.

Thus, he tried to avoid falling asleep all together.

His foals were growing, he'd seen them once or twice in the past short while. Eponine was a beautiful mare, so full of spunk and life. She'd rarely changed from her filly days at all. Marius, a strong son....polite, a bit reserved, but overall a wonderful son. He'd taken more attachment to Cosette though, which was nice to have someone there to 'take his position' in watching over her. Despite his condition, Twilight if anything worried more about her in his absence.

Yet Zevach......it was hard. The boy embodied all that he'd somewhat wanted to be as a child. Strong, brave, a good fighter....all of it was what he himself wanted at one point. Untill he'd seen the case with the spider and the butterfly. It was at that moment he'd realized the importance of life over all....and what gave him the notion to protect rather than to brawl. To fight for what was right gave the most wonderful feeling imaginable; a greater rush than the most intense battle. Had he been wrong to be so hard on the colt? It was true that their relationship had becomed strained, yet it seemed that his two sons were in the same boat. He knew he had to figure out something fast to try and mend all the broken peices or else his family would fall apart.

....just like his other family had.

Pushing his head through the thicket and into the small clearing which housed their new cave amongst a small cliffside in the woods; sore eyes looked up and around as he saw no one was around. He wondered where Cosette was, but figured she and Marius might have gone out, maybe to check up on Eponine or Zevach. Slowly making his way over and under the moss and vine draped cave enterance, the dark stallion settled down in the back of the cave as he dropped to his belly.

There were a few things on his mind today as he lay with his head resting on the ground near his tummy. Despite his whirlwind of thoughts in the negative perspective....there was one good thing he'd wanted to do today.

He could only hope Cosette would come home soon so he'd be able to see her once more. For each passing moment that they were apart, even though it was sappy beyond belief.....his heart ached and cried for her, even if it was just to see her.

He'd fallen hard for the Mare, the mother of his foals. And each passing day he fell a little harder.

It had been quite a while since Cosette last saw Twilight. Sheknew that his nomadic nature would tell him to wander out and about, so she didn't worry. Well, she worried, but trusted that he would come back. He wouldn't just leave her, she told herself, especially not after having his children. It was still a shock to her how fast their children had grown, and that in the end it was all because of them. It seemed like just yesterday she had been pregnant and thinking over ways to hide it from him. They had been, and stll were, so very young!

But they managed. And they had three beautiful children. Their daughter, Eponine, had concerened Cosette because of her speech, but she grew up so lovely. Cosette was waiting for the day that Eponine would come home with an adoptive foal or a boyfriend. Then there was Zevach. Perhaps a tad smaller than his brother, but his personality was so overpowering. He was strong, and certainly capable of surviving on his own. Cosette was coutning the days where some mare would come along and say she was interested in him, but unsure how to approach!

Then came Marius. She had seen how passing mares looked at the last-to-hatch stallion, their looks more surveying than passing. He seemed oblivious, and it concerned her abit that he may be a heartbreaker. But one thing was for certain. hey all picked up on their parents love for traveling and adventure. Marius was the only one who came home often. Cosette was sure Eponine would be on her way home, but then would ge distracted. As for Zevach...

Like Twilight, she didn't see her other son much.

Walking towards their home from a clearing, she had been eating her fill on apples. However, she had spent most the day under an apple tree, sleeping. Even with all the sleep, her body ached for more, and upon standing up her knees had buckled and it took her too long to orient herself. Now fine in a way, she was leaving her tree to sleep in their cave, not expecting to see her mate there.

So it was a pleasant, if not overwhelming surprise to see him there! Her red eyes adjusted to the darkness of the cave, though she made out his shape instantly. A wide smile pulled at her lips and she put more pep in her step, walking towards him more quickly than she had on her way to their home. She meant to toss her mane, but managed to flick her tail with more ease. At not stmbling, she smiled even wider. She could not hide her preganancy from him, but perhaps she could not worry him with this silly illness?

"I see you're home, huh~?" She teased, lowering her nose to nudge his nose. Her voice was a bit weaker than she intended, but he looked tired. Perhaps he wouldn't notice?

The cave was dark, it was hard to keep his eyes open as he lay amongst the darkness...only the occasional soft breeze from the mouth of the cave stirred him slightly. With blue orbs shutting slowly with each passing moment, Twilight felt at ease....perhaps he'd even be able to sleep without being awoken by the terrifying nightmares?

Yet it seemed like not.

With his ears perking up as sounds of hoofbeats alerted his senses, his eyes drew back open while a sigh escaped his lips. Turning his head slightly he caught sight of a white frame trotting merrily towards him; Cosette. God, how he missed her so. He remained watchful for a few moments, trying not to grin at her attempts to be graceful and divine with her tail flick. Heck, she was, and will always be a goddess in his eyes - any clumsy fault or word would fall on blind eyes and deaf ears.

Simply said, she was perfect.

However, a thought crossed his mind as he closed his eyes once more, feigning being tired in hopes to see what the mare would do. Yet he couldn't help it....his eyes simply wanted to see her too much as they flittered back open when she lowered her nose to his. Even though he was exausted to the point of collapsing...being around one you'd die for in a heartbeat gave a bit of an energy boost. As a warm and loving smile crawled onto his lips, he did manage to catch the slight strain in her voice; a wave of concern washed over him.

None the less, he moved his nose against her and gave it a light, affectionate kiss. "Yeah. I didn't think i'd catch you today, I assumed you'd be off with one of the kids." Well, usually Marius. He'd seen Eponine not too long ago, and Zevach....well, he'd rather just not go there; but assumed she hadn't seen him either. Straining his legs to get up, he managed to get into a canine like seated position; much too lazy to get up fully. Grinning, he used one of his favorite little moves he'd learned from a certian mare and pulled at her medium length ivory locks.

"Come lay with me...." He mused, "You seem tired yourself...from the sounds of you." He added, with the slight hint he'd picked up from her voice.

It was a shock to her system, although a pleasant one, to feel him move his nose against hers affectionately. The contact made their short time apart seem so much longer, and she had craved his presence before and was so incredibly grateful that he was here. Whatever had struck her ill had worn down her strength, physical and emotional. She almost felt like crying, but retained from it. A giggle slipped past her lips as he pulled at her mane, and her voice light.

She tried not to show how thankful she was for his suggestion, and she rolled her eyes in an attempt to hide it. She swallowed a yawn, feigning her awareness, but she slumped down onto her side a little too quickly. She grimaced at the contact between her body and the ground, but was quick to chuckle softly and shook her head. She couldn't look him in the eyes as she lied, "No no, I'm absolutely fine... Maybe a little tired..."

A little was one heck-of-a lie.
She could pass out.

Cosette feared that one day she might fall asleep and not wake up until days later. Perhaps it would be worse - she'd never wake up at all. What if one of her children finally settled down? She'd never see her grandkids... What if Twilight moved on? Moved on in his life... To another mare. She frowned deeply at the thought, and she licked her lips before speaking again.

She glanced at him and snuggled her head as to press her forehad against his nose, "Where've you been? Marius hasn't been around in a while, I fear he may have eloped with one of his female friends," she laughed softly, trying to lighten the situation.

For there was something dark and heavy about the idea of two young adults pushed to their limits, unable to even stay awake.

"Cosette! careful...." Twilight winced as her body hit the ground a little harder than it should have, his own bulk scooting over and wrapping around her lithe frame. His worried and sleep deprived eyes looked her over like a parent caring for their child, yet she was not his child....far better; she was his lover. His soulmate. It seemed if it were not for those pesky fish in the stream that day, he may never had met the enchanting mare.....he may have been doomed to live out his days as a nomad.

Yet at the time....he couldn't have envisioned a better life.

It was funny, looking back without the knowledge of what love could bring out, as well as the unconditional love he had for his foals....who were now blossoming adults. His heart ached with pride and sadness. For now the time of their dependance was coming to a close, and they'd set out on the world like he and Cosette had; destined to find their own fates.

"Then relax....we have no where to be now." It was true, they didn't need to run after the foals to keep them safe....they didn't need to go seek out food since they had moved; which seemed so short, but in actuality was long past. Time sure flew....

Kissing Cosette's forehead as she pressed her head to his nose, it gave him a chance to inhale that sweet yet crisp scent of mountian air....mixed with some of the local springs. It was intoxicating, an addiction he never wanted to be relieved from. However, her words brought him swiftly back to reality, for one....since when did Marius become so popular with the ladies? His exclusive son was opening up? He should have figured....for Zevach was striking it out (even if in the wrong direction) and Eponine was becoming intrested in stallions. Yet....where had he been when this all took place?

Oh. Thats right, he'd been running away from his family.

They just couldn't see him, when his mind cracked more with each passing day, how the blood wouldn't come off his hooves, no matter how vigorously he scrubbed the invisible liquid. How could he tell the love of his life he'd been avoiding her because he was terrified, terrified in his own insecurities that if he'd killed those dogs what was stopping him from other things? From her? "Marius....I would have never thought..." He grinned, certianly he didn't get the woo'ing power from him; for he'd been lucky for that fluke at the stream. Yet he hesitated a moment at her question....what could he say?

Suddenly, as if answering his thoughts, a gust of wind rished by the cave as the hollow sound echoed loudly like the howl of a dog. Twilight's body went as cold and hard as a stone while his eyes shot open in terror....he could see the bloody dogs....coming close....Cosette! She was bleeding, as he stared at her like she'd just been murdered before his very eyes! The stallion's heard pounded so painfully against his chest if she was quiet for a moment he would swear she'd be able to hear it. Backing away from the mare as his back hit roughly against the wall, fear coursed through his veins as he snorted loudly as his body shook in horrible tremors.

"Get a-away!" He screamed, his dark voice echoing across the bare walls of the cave; his body was on the edge....he didn't know how much more he could take of this! Tears poured from his eyes as his head tilted back as if he wished to meld into the wall, away from the howling wind at the cave enterance. "Cosette....cosette....." He nearly hyperventalated out, staring at his mate as if she wasn't even there...but rather if she was upon the ground....if she had been in the place he was during that fateful eve.

Lost in his own mental hell, the stallion could barely choke out the horrified sobs which tore at his chest as he continued to painfully push his body further into the wall.

Once the lively youth, fearless and noble, selfless and wise.....

now nothing but a broken mess of the stallion he used to be.

At his concern, Cosette ignored the pain that had appeared and smiled at him widely. "I can take care of myself," She giggled, though her giggles cceased as the all too familiar warmth of his body warmed hers. It was familiar in the sense that she knew it (and all too well at that), but always caused her to almost shiver at the contact. It was always so silly, how much in love she was with this stallion and that simple touches like that could make her giddy. At his words she wanted to relax, but she felt stiff... Something wasn't right... Maybe she wasn't used to him being back? It had been a while.

She giggled softly at his kiss, a little harder when she heardhim take a sniff at her. Se doubted she smelt any good. She didn't need to take a deep breath to know his; he smelt of sweat and the outdoors, especially like trees. He smelt like what an traveler should smell like, and it was horribly attractive. But... There was also the tiniest hitn of blood in the air... Her eyes narrowed, curious as to if that was what set off her mood.

She nodded at his words, smiling softly, but he had not answered her question. The whisteling wind didn't bother her, as it was quite the norm now that fall was swinging by. She attempted to snuggle closer to him, but... His body had gone cold and he was giving her the oddest look!

It all happened too fast. He was up against the wall, crying, saying her name. Cosette stared up at him from the floor, her mouth agape. Her ears had perked forward, eyes staring wide at him. What... What was he doing?! She could barely catch her breath, trying to understand what had happened. He was talking, and then freaked!

"Twilight?" Her voice was panicked as she stood up, a little faster than her legs had wanted and her front knees buckled a bit as she steadied herself. Dismissing it, she took a few rushed steps towards him, but halted. She studied his face - he looked incredibly pained, terrified! He was crying too! Her own eyees began to water with confusion, and without thinking she took steps back. "Twilight," she cried softly, her legs shaking, "Twilight," she repeated, hoping he would snap out of the sudden trance. "W-W-What's wrong?" Her words failed her as she stuttered, her voice growing meek at the sight of her mate's breakdown.

How had he turned out so....horrible?

These vivid nightmares which plauged his dreams now oozing upon his waking realm? Deep down, the stallion was aware that what he was seeing, his dead mate laying on the ground somehow could not be true. Be it the oh so real feeling ache in his heart or something but he knew it could not be reality; for he'd die if anything like this happened to her. The howling began to subside at the front of the cave...but even as he looked up to take it all in the shelter which they'd been in had vanished and replaced with a blurry snow field. The symptoms of Post traumatic stress disorder had been excruciatingly hard on the ebony stallion, and he often prayed for nothing more than to be rid of all this.

Yet....in the dismal condition he was in, in the illusions he could hear Cosette, something he had yet to experience since he kept it all away from his family.

Twilight.....twilight....

But how? How could she be speaking....she was dead! Her lips did not move as he stared at the ground in horror.....yet his name had been ushered from her lips once more...he was definately not hearing things. Looking about the snow laiden meadow, he stared right at a figure hidden by snow; one which was so very familliar. As he continued to watch those ruby orbs came into view while the world his mind flung him in began to fade. The cave returned, the dogs retreated and the body upon the ground dissipated into the nothing it originated from. Instead, he gazed intently up at the worried and almost frightend expression of his love....

"Cosette...?" He breathed, his eyes not a bit red as they roamed a bit around the cave; reaffirming that he was infact in their home. Dropping his head as a new kind of pained look etched across his features, he knew he'd been wrong to keep something like this from her....but he was afraid. Afriad that she'd see him unfit to be a father, a caregiver for their new family and what haunted him most of all....unfit to be her lover.

"I'm sorry.....i'm sorry Cosette....I should have told you." He bit his lip, closing his eyes as he pushed away the tears which threatened to once more spill from his sky hued orbs. "This has been happening....ever since that day." He knew that she'd figure out which one, as his forehead slowly moved down to rest against the floor of the cave. "I don't know what's wrong with me...but I can't have a dreamless sleep; and thus I don't sleep at all. I see things....horrible things. I feel like i'm losing my mind." He admitted, before he felt a constricted feeling overwhelm his chest.

"I've been gone because I was afraid, Cosette. Afraid if you or our children found out.....you'd all see what a failure I am." Pulling his head up, he looked her square in the eyes....for once; bearing his soul without any hints of constraint. "I'm damaged, Cosette."

This all had to be the doing of his long outtings, how he never came home. He was constantly venturing around... Did he get into some kind of fight? An accident? Why was he acting in such a terrifying manner? Cosette's breath was labored as she tried to think, watching her mate slowly coming out his his fit (or so she hoped). She never had thought of the day they went up the mountain as some event traumatizing enough to do this to him. Twilight was a rock against the storm; her rock against the storm. The event had been traumatizing of course, but not to this point. Not to the point of being delirious.

She couldn't even approach him, afraid he'd buck out at her. Her knees were weak as she breathed out her name. The arctic mare exhaled deeply, relief washing over her like a flood as he finally said her name without saying it with fear as if she were well, dead. She took a few hesitant steps towards the dark stallion, watching him carefully with her red eyes. She didn't even hear him at first, apologizing.

"Sorry?" Her voice was meek, a tremble in it as she stopped when she was a foot away from him. Though she wanted to be ready if he had another fit, she knew her reflexives would fail her and she'd tumble down if he did. She lowered her head slightly, wanting to nudge his cheek to make sure, to affrm he was there. She stopped when he brought up 'that day', and her jaw clnched.

"Twilight," she groaned, almost wnating to sob. It was her fault in the first place they went up there that day! All her bloody fault! And now look at him. She shook her head furiously, white locksflaling about. Her lower lip trembeld as she spoke, "F-Failure? No, not you. You did what you had to do. We wouldn't be here if you let those dogs live..." Her voice trailed off, understanding what exactly had been bugging him to this extent.

She dropped her head to his chin and nduged it lightly and hesitantly, fearing he'd notice how light she was doing so. Though she was glad he had faded back to normal, she was quite thoroughly mad at him... Not telling her that this bothered him so! What as the point of his love if he could not trust her to understand? She shuddered a bit at the though, a tear sliding down her cheek as she pulled away from him once more.

She could only stare back at him, at a loss for words for a while.
"Damaged," she repeated it quietly, before offering a very awkward smile, her lips twitching, "You're not the only one."

The floor of the cave was so cold....so lonely now that Cosette had left the space beside him. He couldn't blame her though after that episode; he was amazed that she'd even remained this close to him. It was strange to Twilight; to be bearing his soul to this mare....something he'd never done to anyone before. Be it his dissapearence but he never felt fully open with his family or even friends, but to Cosette he felt worse to keep it all inside now than it was to just let the truth spill.

She'd deserved to know what was going on, after the hell he'd put her through.

He hadn't been there for his children....He barely knew Marius...He couldn't keep track of Eponine since she wandered off so much....and he couldn't even look Zevach in the eye for nearly seriously harming him. He'd dissapear without a word to Cosette...his friend, lover and mother to his foals. She must had been worried, and so lonely.

Yet no matter what; he couldn't stop watching her...the tremble in her voice and lip nearly broke his heart. She looked as if she was going to cry; and he knew damn well he'd follow suit if she did.

"But...." He trailed, knowing what Cosette said was the truth; yet there was always that little voice in the back of his head telling him otherwise that he had to share with her. "...Who am I to play god? To determine who lives and who dies? I'm just a stallion; of course I want to be selfish and I want only the best of you and I, and our children. If I had the choice...i'd do it again a million times....but I can't help but feel as if i've done such a horrible wrong."

Closing his eyes with a sigh at her touch, it was short lived when she pulled back and the warmth was taken from his cheek. Looking back up to the ivory and blue mare, his mouth gaped a little when he took notice of the tear sliding down her cheek. "No..." He meant to continue before she spoke up, her words sinking in and momentarily confusing the ebony male.

"Damaged....No.....how?...Why?"

Pushing his body forcefully onto his hooves, he moved slowly to keep the tension in the cave limited whilst his head dropped to nuzzle against her neck. "I suppose we both had secret burdens....how are we such fools, Cosette? Are we really this way to not even tell the one we....well, I love more than anything?" Twilight corrected, he couldn't quite speak on her behalf anyways; although he could only hope she'd felt the same.

"What's wrong....?" He asked, his attention focused and alert....how had he been so dumb and selfish not to even see that something was wrong with Cosette all this time?
PostPosted: Sun Nov 25, 2007 7:56 am

"I understand what you mean, Twilight... You are only a stallion, and a very sensitive one at that. Those dogs were merely dogs, simply put. You weren't playing God... Survival of the fittest, right?" She said quietly, her eyes locked on his as she spoke. "I'm not upset that you did that, so don't let it huant you!" She reveled at his touch of her neck, and she leaned into it, glad for the contact.

She almost laughed at the word 'fools' used for the both of them. Were they really such fools? Maybe they were. She huffed a bit when he corrected himself, and she flicked her tail, "Well, now that the one I love most is here, I could placate you with what's been wrong with me..." Cosette paused, glancing at him for a breif moment before looking away, "The kids are grown, you're back from not being around much... I think may have been despressed. I was always hoping that if I stayed right here, one of the kids or you'd come home," she let out a shakey breath, and nuzzled his neck lightly, "And I was right! You came home at least..."

She pulled away momentarily, pressing her nose against his, "But my damages aren't as severe as yours. our presence can cure what's wrong with me... But as for yours, I don't know what I can do to help," She spoke carefully, trying to think. She felt so much better now that he wasn't hallucenating, and that he was here within reach.

But what about him?

Survival of the fittest...perhaps playing god wasn't the case at all. He did had to make a difficult choice, Cosette's and his lives compared to those of the dogs owned by the two leggers. It seemed logical what anyone would have done in his situation, self preservation and protecting the one you love. His own eyes met hers, and it felt like a weight had been lifted off his back when she spoke of being fine with what he did. She wasn't disgusted? Secretly resenting him of what he'd done? No....he should have known that she loved him more than that, to look past what he did for them, for what soon after would be their future kids.

He couldn't even imagine life without his family now.

His face fell slightly as Cosette confessed to what ailed her, a depression from being alone? Crap. He was partially to blame for that, was it not his job as her mate to be by her side and help her and be her support? He'd surely failed in so many aspects, at least he'd been resonable enough to move his family down to his homelands so they'd be alright without him. Yet no...even if they were fine, Cosette...and he needed their kids; even if they didn't need them anymore. They needed to be a family, one that could rely on one another!

"You're always right. I'm sorry I haven't been here, Cosette. I let my own problems blind me from yours; from those of our family. Time will heal my mental wounds, and I will always be here from now on to make sure yours will not re-surface." Rubbing his nose away from hers, across her cheek before draping his neck over her own in a hug. "I'm going to bring our kids back, so we can be a family again.....so they know we'll always be here, both of us." Twilight breathed softly, nuzzling his cheek down her spine before pulling back and looking back into those ruby orbs he'd come to love so much.

It was then that something triggered his memory as he smiled, pulling back from her. "Excuse me a moment..." Turning and moving back into the cave where he proceeded to push two rocks aside. Blowing at the dirt to create a little cloud, he grabbed the object and turned back to Cosette...holding a glittering silver bracelet in his teeth. "When we were back in the mountians and I was working with the two leggers...I noticed that some of them presented shiney gifts to one another to symbolize that they'd be together forever. I worked and got one too....and well....I wanted to know if you would be mine forever...for I couldn't imagine life without you anymore; it just wouldn't be worth it. I love you....Cosette. For all time." Grinning from ear to ear in the old Twilight fashion; he gave a little motion of his head hoping, no....praying she would accept.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 29, 2007 7:49 pm

Cosette was almost giddy on the air of relief that was overcoming their home. It felt much better compared to the feeling of depression and lonliness that had plagued their humble cave while he was out. At his neck hug, she returned it full-hertily, relishing the stallion's familiar touch. She giggled lightly against his skin, and shook her head slightly. "Our kids are off on there own, adventuringa nd learning things we can't teach them. You don't have to find them. I'd prefer you right here, to be honest," she tugged at his mane lightly and playfully.

When he pulled away for some reason, confusion flickered across her ruby eyes. She watched him with raised brows, taking very slow steps after him. He was digging around for... Huh? She blinked at the silver bracelete, unsure of what to think of till his explanation. For a moment (or a while), she stared at him with widened eyes.

She walked towards him with a widening grin, and she tossed her mane in the fashion she was known for. Her knees didn't feel as weak as they had been before, and she was happy she didn't buckle over as she did so. "Twilight!" She started, almost laughing as she came within a foot of him, her eyes on the dark stallion compared to the human trinket, "You... I don't need something like this to show that I'll sty with you," she leaned and nuzzled his nose, her own grin almost as wide as his, "But I certainly is nice. But how does it go on, my hoof?" She stepped back and rose one of her white hooves, balancing herself on her other three.

Sh pursed her lips as she watched him, giggling a bit more, "I'll have to find a way to make this up to you. I'm sure my beingw ith you is enough, but knowing me, I've gotta one up you." She winked a bit, and flicked her tail.

They certainly were still young, but growing older everyday. They had been new to adulthood when they had met, and now they were probably just youngish adults. It offended her a bit, but she felt as young as she was the day she met him in the stream.

"I suppose..." Twilight gave a bit of a contemplative sigh as he thought about his kids, sure, they were out living life as capable adults; yet a part of him wished they were still foals. "I know...I know. I'm just feeling a bit selfish...I want to see them again; like old....well, like when they were born." He smiled at the memory; although his muscles gave a bit of a ache. It was hard to remember that in his newly rejuvenated mind frame his body still had some catching up to do before he'd be back to normal. "Well get them all back together, soon." A grin etched across his maw; he was fine with just him and Cosette; after all, they had some catching up to do.

"Perhaps...yet I always thought mares liked shiny things?" He teased, nuzzling her in return before adjusting the bracelet in his mouth before it clicked, the back coming off so the hoop opened quite widely. "The two legged showed me this clasp, you just gotta bite it and it snaps off; although it should stay on when you run and such...it needs force to come undone." Lowering his head down to her uplifted hoof, he gingerly set the trinket over her hoof before closing it; nudging the clasp to the back where it would be unseen before returning upright while admiring the bracelet. "I dare say it looks good on you, yet pales in comparison." The stallion winked with a humorous chuckle.

God. He loved this mare.

"You don't need to make it up to me Cosette; the mere fact you're still here is all I could have ever asked for....not to mention our not so little, little ones. Try all you might though; I believe i'll always be aiming to be one step ahead....like so." A mischievous look overcame his face, as he tugged at her hair to pull the mare down. He may have been growing older; but he still was so much a colt at heart...not that he minded having a youthful outlook on life; not at all! If anything; the more he could laugh and love each day...the better. Not to mention how he landed a mare like Cosette to spend those days beside him was beyond him.

"I may Love ya and all that, but I won't go easy on you."

"It'll just be hard geting Zevach and Marius in the same clearing together without a fight," she chipped in, shaking her head lightly at the rememberance of her sons' antics. She kept her balance well on three hooves, watching as he clasped it around her hoof. He was quite talented, wasn't he? It would've taken her a bit longer to learn where to get one of these and how to put one on. It was good to have Twilight around again. She set her hoof down, admiring the trinket. She rolled her crimson eyes dramatically at his compliment, flushing slightly, "This particular mares likes handsome, black and blue things." She leaned forward to n** at his mane lightly, and though she had wanted t try and be seductive, she ended up in a near fit of giggles.

Her giggles ceased as he spoke, and she bit down on her lower lip. She at first found his wordsendearing, but as soon as he tugged on her mane she understood the mischeif behind the words. She wriggled herself free from his teeth and made a quick gesture to go after his tail, but paused, smiling at his words.

She mirrored his look, her eyes glinting with mischief, happy with the playfulness of their relationship, "And don't think I'll be easy on you, love."
