When getting to know a person, how much does it matter that they are fond of the cure, or atleast NOT hateful towards them?

well I think it really depends on my interests towards them. If its somehow romantic, then i think as long as they dont hate them and lets me listen to them when ever i want without any fight we're good. other wise interests it doesnt really matter just dont pick on the glorious Robert Smith in front of me. biggrin

Yeah, if your bf is bashing Robert Smith/The Cure in front of you, that's isn't so good. My bf hasn't been pleased with The Cure as of late, because they kicked Roger out of the band. Other than that, he's a fan.
But it kinda does matter what he thinks of The Cure. If he's on a stance of "not a fan, but tolerates your interest in them," then it's all good.

They should AT LEAST be able to tolerate them. But I talk about music in general so much...that I really can't imagine dating someone that doesn't have similar musical tastes. (Like for instance, maybe not being head over heels for The Cure, but really into Joy Division or Specimen, etc.).

As long as they don't bash them in front or around me and not mind me putting it on then I'm okay.

Usually, I don't relate with people who love rap/hip-hop, and absolutely can't stand the Cure or any of my bands, since most of the time all I talk about is music/drawing.

Doesn't matter to me, since most of my friends don't like the same music as me. Some of my friends even absolutely hate my tastes (particularly, one of 'em, who's into k-pop and anything with a hot chick in it, heh). Wish I could find more people who liked 'em with me though, heh.

That's silly. Of course not.
Unless they hate them... For no reason. DX

It doesn't really matter how they feel about it, as long as they don't constantly try to force their opinions on me or make me "see how much they really suck".
It's like how I have friends who hate My Chemical Romance. I love My Chemical Romance. We are still friends, our opinions just differ
