History: Vanessa used to be a very kind-hearted person. Growing up in the scenic town of Vienna, Austria, she had several good friends by the names of Freya and Aira. The trio were inseparable, traveling everywhere together, attending the same boarding school, and constantly spending time at their favorite arcade. Though when Vanessa's mother announced that her husband-Vanessa's father-had left them, her once nurturing heart sort of shriveled into a tiny, black stone in her chest. Her father had been a kind, loving person, who really showed no signs of unhappiness. But apparently, their family's quaint, cozy style of life wasn't enough for him. Hoping for Vanessa to keep her mind off of the touchy subject, she sent her away from their hometown in Austria and off to the States by herself. Losing her mother and her friends hurt terribly, possibly even more than her father's absence. Vanessa bought a small lodging in the middle of nowhere and then lived there for a while, taking up a job in a local library.
