its happened multiple times in the past with different series. an anime is over hyped over merchandised and overplayed to the point where the anime begins to lose fans and eventualy the series has been completely killed.
in the past it was dragonballz, pokemon, and digimon.
today inuyasha, bleach, and especialy naruto may face the same fate.
the animes that are over hyped to a point that they are the only animes people talk about anymore and as a result many other anime fans find themselves completely turned off to the shows.

Don't even get me STARTED on Digimon. Pokemon still has apretty good thing with younger kids though. Cause Ash has NEVER left YTV.... xp He's so old nowadays tehy think he's new ^.^

Yup... I actually caught an episode of pokemon not too long ago... makes me wonder what I ever saw in it...
Question - Did anyone ever used to watch Yu-Gi-Oh??

I used to. And I agree, animes like Naruto and DBZ have been overplayed. Other shows like FMA or Gundam are still popular, but not to the point where they are over popularized.
Gundam doesn't get another credit in the US. It dissapoints me.. and it doesn't help when they only show "new school" shows like SEED over and over again while older ones like Wing and G get 1 airing. stare

what really bugs me is the fact that alot of fans have seem to forgotten that there are a lot more animes than naruto and bleach. many of which are much better at that

I hate it when I say I'm an anime fan and automaticaly they say "Oh, so you watch that 'Naruto' show", as if that's the only anime on earth. stare
And I think liking Yu-Gi-Oh is okay. I just stopped watching it after they released GX. I never got into that....

I liked it... talk about blast from the past, does anyone remember Zoids?? We just started talking about it in art class one day and a surprising amount of people my age had watched it eek

I love Naruto, and I love Bleach, but I can see where you guys are coming from. I love those shows for their storylines and character developments, I'm just hooked.
But on other shows, such as Peacemaker Kurogane, Samurai X, RahXephon, among others, they just don't get the recognition they deserve. Why? Because the animes that are just a hint too popular get all the credit. If we just toned down the advertisements for those 2 animes and let everything get their equal share, the anime world would be tons better. Of course, we all know that isn't how things work, to be brutally honest.

I understand where everyone's coming from. It seems that everyone is a Naruto fan or a Bleach fan. I like Bleach, but it didn't keep me hooked on it, and Naruto's great, but I kinda lost track of everything ^^;;;
I will say this though... Hellsing is going to become one of those overrated animes... it was starting to for me...*groans* Too many people talking about it in one place... @.@
They need to show the older stuff again. That stuff was actually awsome. Like Zoids, Rurouni Kenshin/ Samurai X, Gudam Wing, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc.

Oh how I've missed that show..I never really got to see the conclusion of it...But its soo cool. (I only got to see the one with Bit and Leena..I've only seen a couple episodes of the other season I know about..)

I've never seen Zoids. I wasn't into anime until I was about 12, so I've never seen any of those old shows. ninja
