Eusi lay on a rock somewhat near the pride rock. She was a little dissatisfied with her choice of spot, because it was so close to where most lions hung out, but she had a lot of thinking to do and didn't want to run into too many she knew. Er... well, the pawful of who she's been interacting with lately.

Her tail flicked and her ruby eyes watched as a dull breeze stirred some leaves and a few dried grass blades swirled up and then fell back to the earth. Should she really be plotting to start a family? Things could get messy... she still wasn't sure what she felt for Inari. The cocky, arrogant b*****d. He wasn't really any of these things, but Eusi was none too pleased that he had grown stronger and faster than her. Not that it mattered, they'd met once as younglings.

She just chuckled to herself, sighing deeply. Maybe she should go on a hunt.. then she would not have to think!

The small form of the young pridelander female slunk slowly through the grasses, her golden-brown fur blending in fairly well with the shoulder high blades. She made little noise, although she could hear some cub giggling in the distance. The thought of having to get closer to it made her nose wrinkle up, and her deep blue eyes shifted around to try and find the brat with more than a little bit of distaste obvious on her features. She disliked a lot of lions in general, but she typically seemed to hate any cub that happened into her attention. She thought they were all too loud and too messy. Of course, here she was wishing she could express her heart to a male that actual had one of the things. Had she completely lost her mind?

“Stupid Kubwa,” she said with more than a little irritation, though some hidden affection seemed to linger in her tone. The split emotion was certainly not the least of her worries. In her mind, she couldn’t make herself come to be irritated with him, even after he was making her emotions skyrocket. All she really wanted to do was see him again, and worst of all, she was even entertaining the idea of putting up with his cub. She probably really was going crazy.

She came through a little break in the grasses, her eyes lost in thought until she noticed the dark form of the female before her. Well, she certainly hadn’t seen her before, although she was quite the rare color for the pridelands. Perhaps a little shared female bonding would get Kubwa out of her mind? “Hello,” she said, slowly sitting her rump down a bit of a way from the rock.

Eusi frowned thoughtfully and shifted, now laying on her side. If only she could feel that she was being rational about these thoughts. Rational would be... not to think about it at all, ever again! But alas, she could not. It kept popping into her head.

Her ears flicked and subconsciously she heard the other female before she said hello. How ever it was the hello that stirred her from her thoughts. She sat slowly up, eyes flickering and landing on the lioness. She was not exactly gold... something about her struck Eusi as rusty, but she wasn't quite sure that was right either. "Hi." She said, almost stiffly. She then offered a slow, awkward smile.

She frowned softly as she glanced out at the horizons, her eyes squinting against the sun that shone so brightly down upon the lands. She couldn’t see his white form out there anywhere, but why was she even looking for him? She knew where he was, she knew how to find him, and if she wanted to see him so badly, she could just go. Of course, that meant having to admit to herself (and to him, of course) that she actually did want to see him that badly. She wasn’t prepared to do that by any means.

“I suppose I’m not the only one out here thinking today then, hm?” she asked finally, switching her attention back onto the dark lioness. She thought she would have seen the female before, considering she stuck out so much from the rest of the pride. Of course, Kiasi always tried to avoid places where other lions were, and that would explain a lot. The only reason she was here at the moment was her subconscious hope that Kubwa would have been around so that she could ‘bump into’ him again.

She smirked lightly and nodded once. "Yes, seems a popular hobby these days. Though sometimes I wish I was as brainless as half the females in these pride.." She said slowly, eyes flashing and then she coughed. "Er that is.." She said awkwardly, not sure how to fix that. After all, the other was a female in the pride... but Eusi wouldn't have made that comment if she thought the pretty young thing stupid.

"I'm Eusi." She said instead.

She smirked as she heard the other’s words, knowing full and well exactly what she meant. Of course, the cough was a good way to try and cover it up, which was the difference between Kiasi and Eusi. Kiasi would have just left the comment at that, whether it offended or not. The new dark lioness did make her smile, though. “I know exactly what you mean,” she said with a soft chuckle, “the happy females who start looking for mates as soon as they learn to bat their eyelashes.”

“I’m Kiasi,” she said with a small nod, lowering her body down to stretch out across the crushed grass blades beneath her feet – at least she didn’t have to lay down on dirt this time. “It’s a pleasure to meet someone who finally has half a brain.”

Eusi chuckled. Now this was a female she could get along with! Though she did feel a little guilty about the mating comment.. Shut up, you're not boy crazy and that wasn't the first thing you did while growing into adolescence. "It's one thing to have the instinct of keeping your genes going in this world... but those whelps who throw themselves at any male the first chance they get.." She made a disgusted face and smirked.

"And I'm in complete agreement. It is nice to meet someone more on my own level." She chuckled.

She chuckled softly to herself, though she idly thought over the comment the other had said. She had never really thought about carrying her genes on, but she supposed that if Kubwa wanted more cubs, then she could – no. She frowned immediately after stopping the thought that was playing over in her head, confused that she had even allowed herself to get carried away so far. She thought of Kubwa as a friend, a friend. “I’ve never even been bothered with the idea of carrying on my genes,” she said with a little shrug, though she had conveniently put that smirk back on her face, “I think cubs are utterly annoying.”

“Yes, a higher level indeed,” she said with a little smirk, glancing out towards the horizon with her deep blue eyes once more and trying in vain to pretend that she wasn’t looking for a white male among the land. “So, what has you out here thinking today, if you don’t mind my asking?” Good, she’d just force her mind away from the subject.

Eusi just nodded. "Annoying... actually I quite agree with that." Why had she ever wanted cubs? Regardless of how strong she could make them, how formidable! When they were little.. "Sometimes that can be fixed though. Enough of this cub talk though.." She smirked.

"Out here? Ah... I didn't really.. want to run into those I'm usually running into." She muttered. What, within the past few days? "I needed to think and those boys wouldn't have helped." It was true, she mostly knew those of the male gender. She liked them better she realized, they were easier to get on with. Kiasi might prove that thought wrong though, she could see herself being friends with the other girl.

She chuckled softly as the other lioness ordered the cub talk to cease and was perfectly fine with changing the subject. She disliked cubs and had nothing to do with them, and the less she thought about them, the better. Besides, thinking about cubs made her think about Kubwa, and then she kept entertaining these silly ideas about having a family with him. It was sickening, actually.

“Boys, hm?” she said with a little chuckle, her head shaking softly. “I’ve got a whole horde of them for brothers, and they typically don’t do anything but cause a lot of trouble.” She smirked at the thought and then shook her head, “of course, I can’t say much, because my older brother always spoiled me. I get along with them, I suppose, although I’ve not seen much of them lately.” She shook her head with a wry little smirk, “they’re probably out chasing females.”

"I've never really paid much attention to my family. I was much more a lone soldier." She laughed at this and shrugged. "Though recently I've been in contact with my brother... but a lot of good that's done me." She grunted. "Planting crazy ideas in my head and all." She couldn't make herself say it, even though she wanted to have someone to talk to about it.

"So yes. They cause a lot of trouble!"
PostPosted: Wed Sep 26, 2007 4:17 pm

“Well, that’s quite a bit different from me, I must say,” which was the honest truth, “because I’ve spent almost every day with my family. Of course, being the only female does typically make you the center of attention.” She shrugged it off as if it barely mattered even though it had been the deciding factor in how she had turned out in life. Loved and spoiled, she expected others to do things for her and typically didn’t do anything on her own if she could help it. It had probably helped her develop that attitude as well.

“Your brother’s been planting crazy ideas in your head?” she said with a little quirk of her brow. Her brothers had never really been able to influence her into anything. If anything, it had been quite the other way around.

"I hardly doubt if anyone even noticed I was gone." She grinned, but her voice was a little bitter. It obviously didn't matter that much to her though because after a moment she laughed.

"Yes, Issy hasn't seen me in ages and the second time I grace him with my presence he has me thinking about cubs so I'd never be lonely, even when I'm being antisocial." She hissed slightly. Ah, about time she could vent! "Then I started thinking about strong gene pools.. and it is probably the most horrible time for that twit Inari to be hanging around me.." She growled out. He, like she, had spent most of his days improving. Improving himself or his attitude. His skills, his habits. He had gotten strong and fast and he had every right to call himself a warrior. Just like Eusi had every right to call herself a huntress. Except she'd probably go with 'expert huntress'.

But she was proud to be able to do that, that's what she'd devoted her life to!

“I’m sure they did, lions have the oddest way of realizing things you wouldn’t expect them to,” she said with a little shrug – but it was true. She’d been surprised by things that Kubwa had remembered from their first talk, although she had remembered quite a few things that she usually wouldn’t have. They remembered what struck them, and a sister or daughter being gone would certainly had done that.

She had been listening calmly with a little smirk plastered to her mug. She supposed that was a good way to cure lonesomeness, although she never would have done that herself. Well, perhaps if she was extremely desperate, but not before. Still, that wasn’t what captured her attention so quickly. As the lioness mentioned a prospective mate for said strong cubs, the named resounded in her head like a toll. “Inari?,” she said with a little quirk of the eyebrow, “well, I suppose my brother is a good choice. He has to have some of my genes somewhere.” She simply chuckled, shaking her head. She was going to have to stay away from him if he was having cubs soon. She still hated cubs.

Eusi's mouth worked but she did not know what to say. Finally a single "Oh.." Escaped her mouth. Inari was her brother? Ah... Eusi didn't know how she felt about admitting something like that to someone who was related to Inari. After a minute she relaxed though and rolled her eyes. "I didn't know you two were related. Nothing like each other.." She smirked this time. "Inari is mostly muscle and not a lot of brains." Well that wasn't true, she was sure he was smart. He just wanted to show off his brawny side though.

But still, it was just a silly... fleeting... thought. So why did her mind keep coming back to it?
