Even when Light was going somewhere formal in his suit and tie, he should have worn short shorts. Ultimate fashion accessory. 8D

That tennis match was very intense, and yes it did kinda symbolize the long battle between Kira and L. Just like the tennis match, L lost.

Mokusei L did lose the match, though. After seeing episode 25. This was my thoughts, that the tennis match was a sort of symbol, or hint of what was to come, only you wouldn't realise until watching the episode where L dies.
