The only thing you have to think about is copyright. Bear in mind if you design anything too specific probably wont be allowed. This is why I wont be entering my Timelord outfit.

No, you have to do what Gaia does--get very clever and come up with something close but not the same, and don't name it the "Doctor Who" whatever or "Dalek" whatever, etc. I've already entered one item to try & get a long ponytail at last. I'll think on Who items.

Sonic/Laser screwdriver, anyone? biggrin Or other sonic toys. Maybe Jack's blaster. Even a banana would be nice.

BTW, Blondegoth, you could probably enter your Timelord hat as something like generic like "regal headdress." (I think that the thing Queen Amidala wears in Star Wars looks like it could be of Timelord origin. ^^)

Cheers, If i were to enter it (or any part of it) i would re-do it as an item (probably with multiple uses). Btw the timelord piece isn't actually a head dress its a shoulder mounted piece which extends behind the head (in case someone else wishes to do it.)

I have a friend who made a full Time Lord regalia just like that--red and all--plus adding golden gloves, jewelry & stuff. She made the gear from foam so it'd be lightweight, but because she's in the SCA & into authentic costuming the whole thing had layers of undergowns & such and it was all swelteringly hot to wear at cons, the huge collar holding the heat in very effectively. She called it the Big Red Oven. The costume looked awesome, but it practically cooked her. She wore it on camera once when the Durham SIDRAT was answering phones during Doctor Who for a PBS pledge drive back in the early '90's. I got it on VCR tape. smile
Edit: Here's a picture I took in '91 at the MOMI exhibition--they had a lot of the real costumes on display, including a Time Lord costume. It looked sadly cheap and tacky...my friend's version was way cooler. You can get a better view of that mad collar in this shot. Don't know why they stuffed a dark ascot into the neck, as I never remember seeing any Time Lord wear one. Probably trying to hide the mannequin or something.

Those sound awesome. And the ascot is surreal, Doctor who is however nothing but surreal. blaugh Unfortunately the Beeb never had much of a budget and im afraid most of the costumes look cheep and tacky up close crying But I am impressed by you friends costume skills and only have one question. How much and where can i get one? Ok technically two questions, but I did mention surreal earlier did i not... stare sweatdrop

Don't know if she would make another one--she has two little kids now to take care of. I'll ask her how much it cost to make. If I ever find a picture of her in the Big Red Oven, I'll post it for you to see. I remember taking one that she looked hot & unhappy in. smile
BTW--Isn't this the last day for item submissions? Everybody get cracking!
