 Avalokiteshvara threaded her way through the edge of the forest, blue eyes squinting through leaves and branches. Where was he? This wasn't the first time that Hayagriva had run off without telling her but this was the longest she'd gone without finding him. She was torn between keeping up her search and heading back to the glade that was their home to see if he had returned. What if he needed her for something? What if he was hurt?
No, thoughts like those weren't going to do her any good. She needed to keep a clear head and not fret pointlessly. Foals wandered away from their parents all the time. He knew how to find his own food and water. It wasn't like he'd die on his own. Like hopefully her second foal hadn't died on its own...
She shook that memory out of her head even as her eyes began to cloud with the pain of it. She would focus. She would search. If she couldn't find him by nightfall she'd go back to their glade. If he wasn't there, then she'd worry.

A tall stallion slowly wove his way through the trees of the forest, being careful not to catch on anything. Ducking his head, his horn barely skimmed a branch that hung over him.
Sha Gojyo wasn't a big fan of the forest, where anything could leap out at him. He much preferred the open spaces of a meadow, so he can see things, including the lovely sights of grazing mares. Here, he doubted he would ever find someone, let alone a mare. He had to be optimistic, with that, he trekked further through the trees, nickering softly as he did so.

Vara was so intently looking and listening to the forest that when she actually heard something she gave a start and jumped backwards a few paces. It was hoofbeats but sounded too loud to be her colt. She almost turned to skirt around the approaching stranger but instead changed her course towards it. They might have seen Haya somewhere.
"Hello? Someone there?" she called out as she came closer. She knew very well that there was but didn't want to give them any unpleasant surprises, at least.

Hearing rustling not too far from him, his ears perked forward. Cautiously, he ventured onward, keeping on guard. It was when he heard a feminine voice when he smirked, tail flicking lightly.
Still moving forward, he replied to her call. "Hey... sorry if I'm intruding on anything." After some time, he came to where the voice had originated and saw who it came from. His red eyes scanned the mare boldly, taking in all the intricate patterns on her fur, from the clouds on her back to the flowers at her hooves.

Vara didn't even notice the stallion's eyes on her. She was too busy taking in his appearance to see. She hadn't met many soquili who wore clothes like the humans did and this one was more decked out than the others had been. For a moment she was too busy taking in his foreign looks to remember the reason she was out here in the first place.
"You're catching me in the middle of something but not intruding." She shook the forelocks out of her eyes and gave a small aggravated sigh. "I'm looking for a golden colt. Have you seen one?"

Gojyo paid no mind to her eyeing him as well... in fact, he welcomed it. Smirk widening, he walked a bit closer to her, tossing his own mane out of his face.
He was all too happy to hear that he wasn't intruding, but when he heard mention of a foal, the smirk was cleared clean off his face. She has a brat? Pity, that probably means she has a man as well. He thought before shaking his head at her question. "Nah, haven't seen one around. Is your mate searching for him too?"

"I don't have a mate," said Vara succinctly. There was no point in beating around the bush. "So it's just me looking for him. You're welcome to join me if you don't mind going out of your way but if not then I'm afraid I have to keep going." He was leering at her so much that she wondered if he'd be able to help the search at all... but two pairs of eyes and ears were better than one even if they were distracted. Besides, their talking would make noise and maybe Haya would come to investigate the sounds. That was, if the stallion decided to come with at all.

The uni's brow quirked at her admittance of not having a mate, though the smirk didn't return... the thought of foals around didn't really appeal to him. "I'm sorry to hear that." He told her softly, glancing around for a moment. Upon hearing her say something about going out of his way, he added. "Nah... I'm never going out of my way in order to help a lovely mare like yourself out of a situation. Perhaps you can tell me what he looks like better so I can spot him out if I do come across him?" He asked, stepping close and tilting his head inquisitively.

She would leave out the part about him having a kalona tail. A stranger didn't really need to know that and it would bring up too many questions that she'd rather avoid altogether. "He's golden bodied with darker gold stripes. His mane looks a lot like mine, red and gold. He answers to the name Hayagriva." The stallion was getting close.. closer than necessary but Vara wasn't in the mood for chasing games so stood her ground. Besides, he was offering to help. That brought a warm smile to her face even through her anxiety. "Thank you for your help. He's probably fine... I just like knowing where he is."

He took in the colt's description with a flick of a tail. "Very well, I'll help in finding the little sprat. Though... I'm sure he's just testing his independance from you." He decided against calling the colt what he truly wanted to call him, at least, in front of his mother, but to be honest... he wasn't really a foal type of stallion. At her thanks, he smirked at her, turning away some to head off to search. "There's no need to thank me Babe... like I said, anything to help such a lovely mare like yourself."

She was a little flustered by the stallion's blatant flirting and tried not to let it show. He was much different from the kalona that had fathered her foals. No, she wouldn't even compare the two. This unicorn- What was his name?
"What's your name?" she called after him before he got out of earshot. "I'm Vara, short for Avalokiteshvara."

He was about to disappear into the trees when she called out to him. Stopping, he turned around and stepped back out. How could he forget to introduce himself. "My name is Gojyo... Sha Gojyo." He told her, smirking, "Vara, ne? A beautiful name for a beautiful mare... but enough of that, we need to look for your son." Chuckling softly, he turned and walked off again.

"If you find him, meet me back here!" Those were the last words she was going to shout to the stallion- Gojyo. She had a son to find. She chose a direction and headed in it, mind wandering back to the red headed stallion. He was a charmer but an honest one and she could find no fault in that. She didn't talk to a lot of stallions these days, though, and he was being terribly nice... But she could think about that all she liked after finding Haya. She perked her ears back up and walked, on the search again.

"Sure thing Vara!" He yelled back as he went deeper between the trees. Once out, his eyes scanned the area, ears swiveling in every direction. Not seeing or hearing anything he ventured further, calling out the colt's name every now and then and waiting for a response. His mind couldn't help but go back to the thought of what might happen if he did find a colt. Perhaps a nice 'kiss' in reward for finding the brat... that would be great.

Hayagriva had been having a merry time of playing the stay-away-from-mom game. He liked to see how long he could go without her finding him. He never really went that far away and always found cooler stuff than when he was with her. He didn't really understand why she worried so much about it.
Through a copse of trees he thought he made out movement. A red bird, maybe? No, a mane. It was someone new! Haya hoped that he'd be a fun one. Some soquili ignored him completely. That could be fun too, though. He'd see how long it took for this one to pay attention. He moved as quietly as he could so that he was behind the other soq, crouching as low as he could while still being able to follow after.
