Being home was wonderful. It was a topic she'd hardly been able to get out of her mind for the past few weeks, in all honesty, as she lounged about various areas of the main commune. This area was still somewhat better off than where they'd been living, and though Kizuka felt badly about not doing her "share" of the hunting for her family, Ushaufu had been quite insistent on her resting instead. The reason was obvious, for she'd only now begun to really show that she was putting back on some of the weight she'd lost.
Lifting a paw, Kizuka raked her tongue down the length of it. Despite her practical attitude towards such things, the vain whisper in the back of her mind was happy that her coat was finally regaining some of the gloss it'd lost. Still, she had some of the skeletal look she'd taken on from living at the border so long. She was happy with how it was fading, and with the heat of the sunlight streaming down through the canopy to the rock she was lounging upon.
After another stretch, then dappled mistweaver stretched upon her bolder then flopped back down upon it as if it were a comfortable pillow and let herself relax into an afternoon cat-nap.

She approached the communal grounds with an open confidence that said she was neither shy nor hunting, though she, like Kizuka, had been far from here for some time. Her largely pitch black fur was dulled by dust and questionable hunting, but there was a triumph in her bright red eyes. She'd brought her father back, though he was sleeping for now. Events had battered him down to a shadow of himself, but she was certain that a return to home, their real home, would help heal the wounds left by her mother and brother, may the Storm God curse and break them. Still....things had changed, which ruffled the fur on the back of her neck. She could smell an unfamiliar lioness, though she thought she also detected traces of more familiar lions, most importantly, Masika. Stranger? New cubs since she'd gone looking for her heartbroken father? "Masika?" She called out, always maybe a little more bold than she should be, when it could have been a trap.
Definitely not Masika by the look of it, she considered, laying her ears back as she stepped into view. Certainly at home though... Had she really been gone this long?

"Not here," Came the scratchy voice from atop the rock. That was one thing that would never fix itself, Kizuka knew instinctivly--whatever else happened to her, the drought had taken her throat and twisted and scarred it from lack of hydration. Her voice was about as charming as an avalanche, and cut through the air as boldly. Slowly she raised her head, ears tipping towards the lioness that had come up to the lands.
Any other day Kizuka would have been hostile or at least a little wary of such a stranger. Today, however, she felt little need. For one thing this lioness had asked directly for the Queen, which was always a good sign since only the pride members knew her by that name rather than Dama, and for the other... Looking at her was enough for Kizuka to see the structural resemblances. Certainly each lion was different enough, but there were genetic, cultural structures one could look for. Definitely Mistweaver, but one that she'd never seen before. "At least at the moment. I believe she's out hunting..."
There came a pause as Kizuka's honey coloured eyes roamed over the newcomer, sizing her up perhaps, in case of a threat. She opened her mouth once more to say something, then stopped with a frown since she wasn't certain as to what. "If you wait," She finally replied, "She'll be back soon enough... Might I ask your name, child? I've not seen you around before." Unlike her pride members who hadn't seen her before, Kizuka had often watched them in secret. She knew the ones that had hung about the cliffs and lived here for the months she'd been on the border with her family, and she didn't think this was one of them. Of course, her memory could have holes, and it wasn't as if she'd watched every day.

She was slightly large for a Mistweaver, token to her mother's rogue lineage, but not massive, but enough rough edges to say the purity of the line had been impinged upon, assuming her unusualy start coloration didn't say as much first. She was startled by the sound of Kizuka's voice, red eyes widening slightly, before pride interveined. "My name is Sekhmet, daughter of Ramses." She offered out. "And I haven't been a child for some time." To be honest she'd stopped considering herself a child the day her brother had left, though it had taken what had seemed like ages for her body to catch up to that conclusion. She was admittedly disapointed that Masika was hunting, having hoped to catch up to the Queen imediately to report her success, even though she couldn't say that she'd been able to finish Moses with her own claws... sucess was sucess. In these times of daught, she'd learned to accept the sweet taste of it, no matter now small. "Who are you? I don't remember you either?"

She was sharp, that was obvious. Kizuka chuckled at the child comment; she was older than Masika was, most of the ones in the pride were young enough to qualify as children to her. She didn't argue that accessment, however, instead nodding her head to the girl's pride. "Fair enough; forgive me," The apology was sincire, for she didn't wish to be on bad footing with her fellow pride members when there was no reason to be. "Kizuka," She answered the question presently, "I was a child here... long ago, but was gone for quite some time. It is right that you wouldn't remember me."
Kizuka's head suddenly lifted higher as a whisper of a thought occurred to her. "Ramses?" Her ears twitched forward, rolling that name over in her mind. It tickled something, but she wasn't sure why. Some distant memory, the kind she'd come to associate with her childhood, but... well thinking too much about it never solved anything. In fact, such a thing normally buried memories more quickly than it recovered them. "Hm." Kizuka shook her head, "Well then.. Its nice to meet you, Sekhmet."

Sekhmet straightened at this, tilting her head in an rather child like gesture of facination. "....One of the lost mistweavers." She offered out, half sure but questioning. "Like Masika was, and my father and uncle." This for her was something like meeting a new legend or a ghost. Cave paintings come to life. "I'm honored." She noted, ernestly, a tinge embarassed now by her strut. "I've been away as well. For different reasons." She doubted, but vaguely hoped that Masika might have mentioned her, but it didn't seem that way. But she'd still been young when she'd gone after her father. She had plenty of time to make her name ring as proud amoung the mistweavers as these living legends did to her.

Kizuka nodded, "One, yes. At least one other has returned in the past months, as well." She hadn't seen Maka about in awhile but as far as she knew he was still about. It was well that the girl knew what she was talking about, which spoke a lot for her right to be here. Kizuka relaxed again, a welcoming smile stretching across her lips as she watched the polite youngster; this was a welcome intrusion on her nap, to be certain. "Its good to see another back; Perhaps your father is with you? His name sounds familiar, at the least, and it is wonderful to see others from the past."

"He's with me, but he's sleeping. He has been.... Perhaps I'd better let you ask him later...." She hedged, glancing aside. Things had hit him so hard.... "Enki is with him too. My unkle." She offered, wondering if this name too might be familar. Enki was older than Ramses, and she wondered if he would find this Kizuka familar where she did not.

"Enki?" She was correct, THAT name Kizuka recognized. Once more her ears flew forward and this time the grin that spread across her face was a lot happier. She had known Enki back when; that was one name that came back without any trouble--indeed, though it might have been a mere confirmation bias, she thought he'd had a younger brother; Ramses would likely be that. "I remember him. I can't say were close, but we are of an age together. I should like to meet them both, when they are... better able?"

Bloody annoying. That's what it was.
More often than not, Ushaufu was successful in his hunts, however, of course, not always; today just so happened to be one of those (thankfully) rarer days, and the god was less than thrilled by the aspect. He'd landed near Mistweaver territory, choosing to pad the rest of the way back home, rather than fly, for after all, now that they were within the pride, he'd taken deeper precautions as to his true nature.
His wings were no longer within sight, however, his spiked collar, clear sign of his heritage for those that knew how to look, still prominent as he walked through the vegetation. It was charming, in a way, to watch how the drying forest was slowly, but surely, regaining life, but none of this glory was able to keep the snarl from the male's lips. His teeth, protruding over his upper lip, shinning in the little light that filtered through the trees, while mud and herbs clung to his form here and there, making his green pelt look all the more unhealthy, even if the actual appearance was horribly deceiving, for after all, in a fight he could've proved his strength and health well enough, "Bloody hell!" The words were snarled as a vine took hold of his ankle, his head lowering to glare at the offending piece of vegetation as he pulled himself free.
If anything, the words that rung through the air at least probably alerted Kizuka and her visitor of his approach. In fact, the words were repeated again as he padded into view, snarling as he pointed a long claw behind him, almost accusing, "Bloody herd! Either they're getting smarter or I'm losing it! They tricked me! Bloody well landed in a mud-" the god-in-hiding paused mid ranting as his eyes fell on the black lioness' form. The structure was familiar, even if a little off, and thus was the only reason he refrained the rude snap of 'and who the hell are you?' that popped into his mind. Then again, it was his irritation at being bested by a stupid waterbuck that was spurring the thoughts.... while Kizuka's earnest demand that he PLEASE behave himself kept him on a metaphorical leash.
Instead, Ushaufu's brows knitted together into a frown, his claw still held where he'd been pointing behind him. Slowly he blinked, once, twice, before settling down into a sitting position, looking ruffled, muddied, and not all too happy, "I bloody hate waterbucks," it was all the introduction they were getting from the ruffled god as he sat hunched.

(( burning_eyes Hornet numa...causing...massive willies....*phear* **says the person with an exanguinated house elf in her sig** *bricked for irony*)) Sekhmets ears perked up at the change in Kizuka's broken, ragged voice, and the recognition of her Uncle's name. "I'll tell him that you said as much then. Enki's alright, he's just keeping my father company." Her uncle had grumbled that he'd lost track of his youngest living sibling once, he was determined not to do so again. She actually comicly jumped an inch or so as Ushaufu emerged from the crackling brush behind her, her intentness on the conversation with Kizuka being her dignity's undoing, and she ruffled her fur, and tried to look as though nothing had happened as she digested this anouncement from the irritable, collared lion who had just arrived. "Ah I see." She blinked. "They're erm....tricky." Landed in the mud? He must have lept for one, unless this powerful looking male had been engaged in her childhood sport of trying stubbornly to climb trees. Not an act lions were actually intended to do. He certainly acted as though he knew at least one of them rather well, and she couldn't figure that it was her. An aquaintance of Kizuka? He didn't particularly look Mistweaver...or like the rogue's they'd seen looking for Ramses. She really wasn't sure at all.

Kizuka couldn't help the broad smile despite her mate's grumbling. She recognized the signs that he was much more grouchy than he was letting on--oh indeed, she could almost hear the irritation that rolled through his brain and the snap he'd refrained from unleashing on Sehkmet. The corners of her mouth twitched, fighting to keep back the laughter that wished to come forth. It wouldn't do to embarrass him in front of another, not that she ever intentionally embarrassed him normally. Still, with his mood as volatile as it was right now there were certain niceties a mate was supposed to give. At least, in the relationship that she and Ushaufu shared.
The female gave a slow stretch then leapt off of her rock to pad over to her mates side. A good rub of her head and neck under Ushaufu's chin and Kizuka resettled herself at his feet, leaning over onto her side a little to press into his legs. "How many times do I have to tell you not to hunt those alone?" Kizuka asked gently, raising her eyes to the male above her. He was huge in comparison to her--mistweavers were, naturally, among the smallest of the lion races, while gods larger than the average rogue. It made an interesting pairing, to say the least. "They're too wily and you're going to get yourself hurt; I'd rather have you without holes in your side, my love."
With an easy smile she turned her head enough to lick his arm and chuckled, "Next time you wish to try take me with you. I can help you route the beastie sans mud patches."
That said, the lioness looked back to her younger company. "My mate, Ushaufu," She explained, "He lacks in manners when he's riled, but i assure you he's usually more... polite." So that wasn't entirely true. Ushaufu was only inclined to be polite when it pleased him to be--or, she knew, when it pleased his mate for him to be. She wasn't the kind of woman to hen peck him into being anything other than what he was, though. Yes, she'd asked him to be on his best behavior, but further than that she wouldn't make a nuisance of herself, chiding him if he wasn't. Though he exasperated her to no end at times she did love him for who and what he was.
"This is Sekhmet," She continued for Ushaufu's benefit, "a daughter of an old acquaintance of mine, come home to roost."

((Haha XDD Ryuu - I kept on looking at your sig, trying to decide what that was. I was like, that's Lucius... but whose that... bleeding thing? .... House elf? ... Nah .... WTFFFF))
There was a brief moment during which it was more than obvious the male had a snarky reply at the tip of his tongue, no doubt a reply to poor Sekhmet's attempt at smoothing the situation, however, instead of going through with his intent, the god shut his mouth just as soon as he'd opened it. Due to the gesture, he looked more like a gaping fish for a second, his brows knitted together in irritation.
He wanted to point out that, in his defense, plunging from the sky on wings USUALLY took the beasties by surprise; he'd not expected the intelligence that's shone in that particular buck's eyes as it's veered out of his way and had led him straight into the mud puddle, watching him collapse there. No bones were crushed, and his physique was not harmed, however, his pride had been bruised as he'd pulled himself out of the mud. How was he supposed to know that the buck had been almost expecting him? Flying was not a common strategy for hunting and usually worked!
But of course, the mention of flying was not going to help him any with a stranger, and thus Ushaufu bit his tongue. Almost literally, to keep himself from uttering something that he'd later regret. Amusingly enough however, as soon as Kizuka's form approached his and leaned into him, the god visibly relaxed; the tension that had been holding his jaws together, melting away. As she talked, he raised a paw, forcing his fingers to act as a secondary maw as he mouthed 'blah blah blah' softly, a small tease, almost as if both lions were used to this sort of banter, "Yes, well," he leaned in as soon as she stopped talking, "I've never seen you complain about certain part of me having holes and bones sticking out of them before," the words were said softly into her ear, a whisper he wasn't entirely sure if the other female caught.
Tell truth, he didn't really care right now either.
"Hey! YOU try being polite when you've landed head first into a bloody mud pool!" despite the snarl, it was clear the tension had receded away with just a few words from his mate; she had THAT much of an effect on him, "Charmed," he turned to aim the word at Sekhmet, pausing just a bare second to add, "Relax, ain't gonna eat you," he'd seen how she'd jumped and bristled upon his arrival; this was, after all, the usual reaction to his larger form. Despite the lack of mane, it didn't seem to make him look lacking, but rather, almost the opposite; instead of a normal lion, he looked like an over grown mountain lion with a mane going down the back of his head and well down his back, "I only eat beasties," he paused again as he looked the darker lioness up and down, almost as if assessing her, "Well, 'least it's clear she's Mistweaver, and we can skip the whole lightning, flashes and 'oooooh, get outta here for your own good~~ dead land an' all~~' peanut show. Tired of those. It's surprising how many bloody idiots stroll by here looking for-" he looked down at his mate, "WHAT! It's true!"

((XD yeah. <3 It's gotten at least one horrified stare. Surprisingly no open assaults. Lord I hate Dobby.))
So they were mates? That would make for some undoubtably impressive cubs, she considered, flicking an ear at the thought of larger, more powerful Mistweavers. That would give their enemys a turn they wouldn't soon forget. "Is he? Not as 'polite' as Maji I hope. Well no he couldn't be, not if he's hunting waterbucks." She was calming down a little now, smoothing her fur down. He looked almost young, or he should with his only partial mane, but he didn't act like some cub. "Lightning hm?" A wicked look flashed in her eyes, clearly envisioning someone meeting up with such a display. "I wish we could summon lightning." She rumbled, almost a growl.

As ushaufu ranted, Kizuka turned her head to watch their young friend. She gave a smirk, moving one paw in an imitation of his "blah blah blah" as mouthed the words. It was a teasing thing between them, of course, all done in light jest. She turned her head just in time for Ushaufu to look down at her, "WHAT! It's true!"
"I didn't deny that it was," Kizuka laughed throatily, shaking her head. Sekhmet wouldn't realize how serious Ushaufu was about those effects. Being a God his illusions provided them readily, even if it wasn't his actual "territory." It was actually rather amusing in a fashion, though Kizuka's sense of humor wasn't quite so sadistic as her mate's. She just warned others away, he brought the wrath of the Gods into it. Indeed, Sehkmet's reaction only made it funnier.
The thought of the... other lion made her sober a little. Kizuka snorted, "No no, Maji is much more "polite." The lioness rolled her eyes. She did not speak actively against the male, but he hadn't made a very good impression upon her. He was hostile, yet didn't put any muscle behind his threats. Always of the mind of either "do it or shut up" Kizuka couldn't find much respect at all for the other lion. That didn't mean she had to say as much aloud, or at least to someone other than her own mate--speaking so actively against the "king" (though she would never hail him as such) wouldn't do.
Instead, she turned the topic back to the gentle teasing and good natured banter she was enjoying with her mate. "The King could summon lightning, I believe," She said instead, referring more to the King of Storms than the gray lion. "but were he to return we wouldn't need it. And I do hope he returns soon." She eyed her mate who, she knew, still harbored ill feelings towards her opinion of the Gods. Being one himself, it was somewhat ironic that he took a mate who was so loyal to another God. Indeed, she'd long given up the belief that Gods were some infallible force that one must fear and worship from afar. Except, of course, for the Storm King.
"This land is hurting; surely he will know." It was more to herself that she said this last part, but no one could deny the pure, unrelenting devotion with which it was said.
