There's been practically no extra news on this development since it came to light, so I'll ask you guys...
What would you honestly like to see happen if a new season really is being commissioned?
Who would you want to see more or less of, and what would you like to see them do?
What developments would you like to see - any particular game adaptations, long story arcs, or just a picaresque, self-contained episode each week?
What's your opinion on the idea of a new season in general?
I'll pop back and add my own response when I have more time.

I haven't had the chance to see much of the anime. I like what I've seen though, so I'm all for another season.
Y'know what I'd really like to see? The Freedom Fighters! I know it won't happen, but what if Sonic and the other furries found a way home, and took Chris with them. Then everything would be reversed. Chris would be the one out of place. Sonic and his buddies could show Chris around Knothole, and the new season would feature the Freedom Fighters. I'd just die! whee

To bo honest, I couldn't care less if I never saw crybaby Thorndyke again. Let's keep things in the furries' world this time, and give them the character devlopment that they should have gotten over the previous 52 episodes.
We've already seen how Chris turns out in the future - just as obsessed with being with Sonic as he was six years previously. Let's leave it at that.
There's just so much that could be done with keeping the series on the furries' world... Not only could their characters develop as we get to see more about what they're like at home, but we could actually get to see what that world is like. We only got to see glimpses of it before, and I'd like to see what's there, how it's different, and hopw things work there.
There's still plenty of room for things like a Sonic CD adaptation (Amy/Sonic first meeting flashback), and a Sonic Advance 3 adaptation would make even more sense after the way SX handled the Battle Adaptation.
This could be the season the first one should have been as far as I'm concerned.

I'd just die! whee Except, in Sonic X, there is no Knothole, nor does Eggman rule. So there'd be no point for Freedom Fighters. I'd love to see a new series, set in the Sega universe, with South Island, Westside Island, The Little Planet, Angel Island (well, yeah, it did appear in Sonic X already) and other such locations getting a mention, heck, I'd settle for Flicky Island. That said, I'm just a fan of the Earth that Sonic and Co live on, the city locations and such that have been focused on in the games since SA1 (and according to Sonic X, are on Chris' Earth), aren't my cup of tea. I'd much rather the quiant little villages like Amy Rose's House and "The House of Cream's Mom" I've got my fingers crossed for the future eps being all in Sonic's world with one human named Eggman, anyway.

The translated details are too sketchy to make out any coherancy, but it's the nearest thing we have to proof Chaotix are coming back for the new series.

As much as the source is usually trustworthy, there's just too much false information floating around at the moment for me to admit it's real. I'm waiting for a bit more information that thinghs like those scripts and artwork auctions before I take things for granted.

It's worth the fools hope, though. That said, you know how I am Nua, a bottle of optimism who knows enough to realise he should be cynical, but feels there's nothing to lose by being hopeful. I geniunly do believe in this new series though, wether it blind optimism or just sheer wishing it to be true, there's enough evidence to suggest they are being made, and for the time being I want to take this little scrap of info and believe in it until it's real. If it turns out fake, I wont be disillusioned, just inspired smile

A new series? I haven't even seen the whole of the first yet (though I'm hoping to very soon)... I could probably say more once I've got a full idea of what the original series was like. Completist that I am, that means watching every episode (preferably in their original Japanese with English subtitles), so that I can form my own independant views that are not subject to the popular "OMG!!WTF!!! CHRIS SUX!!!11". From what I've seen, Chris is the focal point of the series way too much, but all I've seen is the first 13 episodes, very poorly dubbed and cut back to around 17 minutes each. I've see some raw Japanese episodes from later in the series that are much more promising though... despite featuring Chris more than necessary.
Based on my current knowledge of Sonic X, I would have to agree with Nuala totally here. I'd like to see Sonic's own world and character developement on the parts of the characters upon whom the series is actually based.
What I'd really like to see is a prequel to Sonic X, making adaptations of the classic games, particularly Sonic CD and the whole Death Egg arc from Sonic 2 through to Sonic & Knuckles. Sonic X has shown some great animation already, so I think they could pull those off. Sadly, I doubt we can look forward to seeing any such thing, since Sonic X is probably geared more towards the modern Sonic games, which more recent fans can relate to than the classics that we know and love.

Many MANY new images have been released at a French board and I have to say the pics are starting to really interest me now.
First off, Cosmo is definately real and seems to have a whole tribe of her own. All the regulars reappear, including that little brat (who is still little).
Mechs include "Blue Thyphoon" and a robot which looks scarily similar to Optimus Prime. Drawings also show Sonic and Knuckles fighting eachother, which would be interesting.
If no one objects, I'll throw the links to the forum where the pictures are posted.

Samwise, if I hadn't been offline yesterday, I'd have done it then myself. Here you are. And there're what claim to be provisional episode scripts here - but since scripts're easier to fake than artwork, I'm taking those with a pinch of salt. Spoilers (typed in white - highlight to view): It unfortunately does seem as though that dirty little bit of revisionist history with the "time warps" that was used in the dub is going to be used in the new series to transform Chris back to the pre-pubescent crybaby we know and hate.End spoilers
