Or not...

The skies were clear and calm. The sun had almost set, casting its orangeish glow. That was why Sarria had ventured out. It wasn't too bright for her around this time, and she had yet to explore some of the areas around her new home. Viktor had taken her with him to the park. She had wondered why Viktor was going to a park in the first place. It wasn't until she saw the shady looking man half hiding behind a tree that it dawned on her.

"I shall return shortly." He told her as he looked around, making sure no one else was around, "Stay around here. I'll find you once I'm done."

"Okay." She answered quietly, looking around the almost empty park. She watched Viktor until he and the sinister looking stranger disappeared behind a building, then spun around.

Being alone in a strange area always made her nervous, but she managed to look calm. She had her friend with her! Her brand new pet, who was hidden somewhere on her person.

Looking around for a spot to sit, she decided the grass would do, and took a seat.

"Dad, why can't I go with you?" Snow asked for about... the fiftith time that afternoon, "I've been to this place before and theyd din't even card me! I won't get into trouble!" She said... again, but she figured that eventually Alice might say yes.

"Let me think about that for a second. No," Alice said, again, stopping ignoring her (as he had been doing for the past hour), "I told you, this is a business meeting. They wanted to meet at the club because it was less conspicuis, and I don't care how old you look... you still look thirteen, genuis or not."

"Dad-!" she tried to say again, but he put his hand over her mouth and smiled at her.

"You have ten pages of physics to do Snow Mayzer. Go to the park. Do some work. We'll go out tomorrow night, on something that isn't business, I promise." Alice told her, chuckling and heading out the door, "See you."

Snow sighed, grabbed her physics textbook and stormed out the door. It didn't last long, as her bad moods almost never did... but it did put her in a cynical mood, which would probably be remidied sooner rather than later.

She made her way to the park and sat down on a bench, muttering and flipping through her book, not really noticing the other girl who sat nearby on the grass.

Sarria had seen the other girl enter the park and had been watching her. Looking quite casual and acting as if she hadn't been examining the other girl. As she continued to sit there in the grass, 'reading' a small piece of paper she had taken out to look like she was doing something, her strange eyes were fixed on Snow. Her stare intensified and became almost unnervingly creepy as her expression darkened.

Suddenly snapping herself out of her almost trance-like state only seconds after it began she frowned at the paper, tearing her eyes away from the other girl. She had no idea where the urge to stare like that had come from and pushed it to the back of her mind.

She checked around for Viktor, and when she didn't see him she stood up, brushed herself off and headed toward Snow. Assuming the other was also a Terra, but took into consideration the fact it could just be some strange humanoid creature with wings. Who knew what was around here.

"Hello?" Her voice was rather quiet, not wanting to startle the girl.

"CHA...a," Snow said, a little startled as she nearly dropped her book. She had been far too absorbed, not like her to be focused so intently on... math. Ew. Math. Why on earth had she been looking at that? Right. Alice was being a jerk. Well, no not really, thinking of him as a jerk just made her feel better. Her gaze then turned towards Sarria, and she blinked a few seconds.

Then she smiled, "Sorry, I was a little to interested in that book for a second. You suprised me." She looked at the girl, eyes glancing for anything unusual about her. Terra, she was willing to bet from a basic visual analysis. Interesting. She glanced back down at the book, "Physics, you know? Read too much, you kill your brain, and without it, buildings would topple down on us and kill us all. Still I read it... and it makes sense... but it always seems really stupid." She closed the text and put it down beside her, "You're a Terra, aren't you?"

"Oh, sorry." She gave a small smile and a quick nod, "I was even trying not to."

Her love of physics, or any math in general was non-existant, so she just gave a nod of her head at what Snow was saying, "Yeah, that's true. Especially the part about killing your brain." She agreed with a laugh, she just wasn't going to be the one to worry about stuff like that. The other people could do it for her!

"Yep! That I am. One of the first I think. There was only Noire when I, uh...'woke up'? I don't know if you've met her yet, but I'm glad to see there are more!" She was rather relieved the other was a Terra, feeling a bit more comfortable now that she was sure she hadn't just walked up to some complete stranger. "I'm Sarria. And you are?"

Snow smiled at the other girl, glad she was right, "Dad calls me Snow, so I figure that's my name, y'know?" She made room on the bench by sliding over, "I'm pretty new actually. Barely been awake a week. But I'd say it's a lot more fun in here than it was in there."

She tilted her head again, looking thoughtful, "Haven't met Noire yet... Just Vin, dad has kept me pretty busy. It's all so wierd and cool out here... I need to stay awake longer just so I can see all this wild stuff!" She never did get tired of having too much fun. She had to do more of that.

"Snow." She repeated once as she went to take a seat after room was made for her. "Yeah, I guess I haven't really been, uh, out and about long either. Long enough to see some pretty interesting things!"

"Definitly. I wouldn't really want to go back there. Not that it was all that bad, just boring I guess." She set her small bag down beside her on the bench. "Do you sleep alot or something?" She asked, raising an eyebrow, "Or just need to sleep less so you've got more time?"

She looked behind her for a moment to make sure Viktor wasn't heading back before returning her attention to Snow, "I know what you mean about needing a little more time though. Sometime's I need to stay inside during parts of the day. Gets too bright."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 24, 2007 7:19 pm

"If you sleep, you might miss something important," Snow said with a small laugh, "That's what my dad says... but then I've never actually seen him sleeping, when I think about it. I just want to sleep less, like he does, then I'll get more done. Besides, some parties rage all night! I wouldn't mind staying up for all of those." She looked over at Sarria, "So, what do you do for fun?"

Genuinly curious about that one. The more fun people she found, the more likely she was to have some fun. Hard work could be amusing, but on any day of the week she'd rather be out doing something that involved... well, not working. She was, really, a slacker at heart.

"Oh, that would be true." She gave yet another nod as she considered what she might be able to do by sleeping less. "Me?"

She went silent as she struggled to think about something she did for fun, "You know, I'm not really, well..." trailing off she gave a shrug, "I haven't really done too much. Definitely haven't been to any parties. My dad probably wouldn't like that. Or really know where any of them might be, now that I think about it."

Since her 'awakening' she hadn't really been much of any where, except to hang out with Noire. Mostly just stayed at home.

"I suppose I really should get out more, do you think? Oh," her strange eyes suddenly lit up, "I did get a pet today, though. Yesterday, actually. That was fun."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 25, 2007 4:30 pm

"Really, you've never been to a party?" Snow looked suprised for a moment before she smiled again. Alice would never allow her to become a shut-in really. It was his lot in life to be happy, and he was the only one he knew who was as smart as she was. Still, he found time to have a life, which was part of what she loved about him. She wondered if she was the way she was because of him, or if she would have been like this anyway?

"A pet!?" That caught her attention, eyes sparkling, "What kind of pet? Is it cool? Can I see it? I've always wanted one, but Alice is worried that I'd forget about it and kill it."

Sarria gave a shake of her head, "Nope." In truth, she hadn't really wanted to either, but giving it a try wouldn't hurt.

She turned slightly to grab her bag and rustled through it a bit, "He doesnt' have a name yet. Perhaps you could help me think of one?" After a few more seconds of digging, she pulled out a small plastic carrying case. "The guy at the petstore said he wasn't full grown yet."

Using her hands to 'hide' the little creature in the tiny plastic thing, she gave a grin as she unveiled him, "Here he is!" Holding it up for Snow to see.

Inside the carrier, with it's 'back' to Snow, if you could call it a back, was her pet. A good-sized black tarantula with an almost blueish tinge to it as the light hit it at the right angle.

"Isn't he cool?!" Pushing it a bit closer to Snow to allow the other Terra to get a nice, good look.

Snow blinked a few times, looking at the tarantula, then glancing at her wings, then glancing back at the spider, then at Sarria, "You do realize I'm a butterfly, right?" This was more matter-of-fact and dry than it was paranoid of afraid. She was merely pointing it out, which was just what she did.

The spider was small, obviously, and in a cage, unable to hurt her, let alone eat her. Still, the main enemy on her planet had been... well, spiders. Bigger spiders, with lots of scary eyes, which she only sort-of recalled... but still spiders.

She blinked a few times at Snow as she eyed the other's wings, "Yeah?"

She lowered the carrying case some so it was in her lap, "I hardly think he's going to be able to eat you." She looked down at the small spider, "You're quite a bit bigger. Besides, I don't think he eats butterflies, though I guess he could..." she trailed off and gave a shrug before patting the top of the plastic container.

Inside the container, the spider had slowly turned around so it was facing Snow, glaring at her with its little spider like eyes.

"Do you want to hold him?" Sarria turned her head off to the side, "Even though the guy at the store said I shouldn't take him out. In fact, he didn't want to sell him to me. He said it 'wasn't for beginners. This breed is particularly dangerous and aggressive.'" she mocked the pet store clerk's voice, "But that didn't matter. I, uh, convinced...him."

"Yeah... well," Snow looked thoughtful for a moment, "I know how to make anti-venom using only grass and wood with a pen for a siringe, so if he bites me it probably won't matter anyway." she mentioned, her wings fluttering slightly again, "I've seen... well, I have memories of seeing giant ones, you know? On my planet. Pretty neat. I think you should call him Puck."

It was random, she didn't care, "Cuz... you know, he's little, like a hockey puck." She smiled at the spider, "No worries, ours is a peaceful race small one. And I don't eat other bugs. Well... irachnids, he isn't a bug really."

A frown appeared on Sarria's face as she scrunched up her nose, "Grass and wood? Does that work for every type of venom?" She set the case down beside her and began to unclasp the lid.

"Just a moment and I'll get him out." She told Snow, having an issue with the last thing holding the lid on, "Puck." She repeated and gave a little shrug, "Maybe! He's going to get about six or seven inches, so that might not fit too well when he's older. Well, his body would still be little I guess."

Right before she opened the lid, a strange little hissing noise came from within. Stopping, she leaned back so she was looking inside, "Oh...um..." Trailing off, she watched as the tarantula reared up and hissed once more. "Yeah...he can stay in there for a bit."

Making sure the lid was on tight, she lifted it up and turned it around so he was facing her. He only turned around so he was facing Snow again.

With an almost sheepish grin she quietly cleared her throat and set him back inside her bag and covered him up. Eventually the strange hissing noises died down and she bit her lower lip, "He must be, uh, tired or something. Cranky? You know?"
