The ocean had proven to be very fun, it was amazing to see all the shells and little creatures on the beach. Rengo hadn't gotten up the courage to go swimming yet, but he thought he might sometime soon as long as nafsi was with him in the water.
He smiled and took a break from running back and forth, following the sway of the ocean. He sat and let the cold water wash against his feet and he looked slowly around. He wondered where the leopardess had gotten to.

Nafsi had spent part of the day away near the tide pools that the ocean left. She enjoyed watching the small creatures that took residence in them move around. She didn't know how long she had been there all she knew was that it had been a while.
Rising to her paws she moved away from the tide pools and look down to see her imprint in the sand. Chuckling lightly she turned and headed down the shoreline in hopes of finding her companion. When he crossed her mind she wondered if he had tried tasting the seawaters and if he had what had he thought of them?
She turned her head toward the ocean's waters as she walked beside them.

Well he could not see her so he would just have to wait a while... perhaps she was growing tired of his company and needed a little break; it was understandable. He rose to his paws and stretched slowly, moving deeper into the water. His gaze floated over the great masses of clouds in the sky and he smiled faintly.
After a minute he remembered about the taste of salt and he eyed the water splashing about his legs. He wondered if it was a bitter taste... or a sweet taste? Something between the two? He leaned down and hesitantly stuck out his tongue, lapping some of it up. Immediately he made a face... it was too... too... salty. He just laughed and licked at his chops, trying to get the taste away. He did not seem to like it.

The black and pink maned male came into her view just as he tasted the water. It took everything the female had to keep from laughing. She quickened her pace to close what distance was between them although it wasn't too much. Coolly she called to him. "It's a strong taste is it not?" Asked with a smirk knowing that it's taste was...not bitter, nor sugary but...salty. There was no other word for it.
Not one that she could think of to say the least.
Her tail flicked behind her as she came to a stop a yard or two from him. There she settled her butt against the sand and wrapped the tail around her paws flicking it every now and then. "Tell me, if you don't mind," She started remembering her manners. "what is it that you think of the taste?"

He just chuckled, ears flicking as he took in Nafsi's words. It always seemed she appeared as he thought of her... he liked that.
He turned and splashed a little of the water at her playfully before coming to sit next to her. "It's.... very over powering." He stated and shrugged lightly. "Oddly enough I can only think of salty for it... but that is what salt should be, shouldn't it? As if to say alligator should taste alligator-y."

Nafsi nodded at his words. "If I had told you that before would you have still tasted the waters?" She inquired briefly before moving along in the conversation. "I do believe that, that is the only word for it, for even I do not know of a better word to describe it's....unique flavor." She shrugged and continued. "I do not know what Alligator tastes like but I have heard that it taste like...avians. Though I cannot say that I am interested in seeing how it tastes."
She stopped speaking for a moment watching him for a minute before looking to the waters that occasionally licked at their paws. "Have you gone swimming yet?"

He chuckled. "Aye, perhaps. I didn't exactly know what 'salt' was so why should I know what 'salty' was?" His head tilted and he raised his brows playfully at her.
"No I have not." He eyes the water. "I was waiting for you, hoping you'd join me in the water."

She crinkled her nose. "You have a valid point but when it comes down to it, salty is what fits it the best." She replied with a pleased nod. Then at his next words she shifted to a standing position and nudged him gently. "Then what are we waiting for?" She questioned as she backed up towards the water.
It wasn't before long that she was already about knee deep in the waters, well if it was what you would call knee deep. "Come on...Please?"

He just watched for a moment and laughed before standing and moving after her, picking up speed and going past her as he twisted to splash water at her. "C'mon slow poke!" He said with a laugh, despite the fact that he'd gotten into the water after her!

She turned her head away from the water he splashed at her. She chuckled and shook her head before running after him. "You're the slow one!" She called to him as she moved deeper into the water.
It wasn't before long that she could no longer feel the sand and rocks beneath her paws. Soon it felt as if she was rather weightless while feeling slightly more weighed down. Nafsi felt so comfortable in the water. She turned in the water and scanned it for her companion. "Catch me if you can." She told him when she spotted him before splashing water at him.

He chuckled, "I don't think I can, actually!" He said, half joking and half serious. He paddled around the water awkwardly, his body swaying up and down. He didn't like the swaying bit, it made him feel dizzy. Even though he wasn't going in circles...
But then he started to come towards her with a playful grin on his face, eyes full of mischief. "Here I come!" He smirked.

Light laughter escaped her maw as she watched him struggle with the push and pull of the ocean's waters. A bit of salt water slipped into her mouth and she made a face as she tried to spit it out only to get more in the process.
"Yuck" She mumbled when she was finally free of the water. However by that time Rengo was growing rather close. "Oh no! There's something in the water out to get me." She exclaimed playfully.

He just laughed and finally tapped her with a paw because he was close enough. He let himself float in one spot, staying up easily. "Man this ocean sure can give a boy a work out." He winked at her.

When he tapped her she stopped trying to swim away, he had caught her after all. "That it does, that it does, but it also provides much enjoyment." Then she leaned back to float on her back letting her legs relax for a little while.
"Try floating on your back, you stay up without as much effort." She told him closing her eyes and just letting go of all her troubles, if she had any. "Five more minutes in the water and we can get out and rest."

He watched her and smiled and treaded water. When she told him to follow her lead he didn't at first, he was enjoying watching her. After a minute though he leaned back, slowly and the first try he had to lean forward again because it was too weird. But on his second try he was floating, gingerly closing his eyes to experience the weightless feeling. "Oh wow.." He said quietly.
