Zale tossed out another line into the small pond. Even as the sun began to die in the sky above and the wind ruffled the ever changing leaves, he did not move. Hunger drove him to stay in the same spot and agrivation ate at his nerves.
Stupid friggin' fishing... He growled. Once winter came, he didn't know what he'd do. His hunting skills were weak and his magic wasn't much better. Maybe go bum off of other's...? No, just the thought made his pride ache.
" I hate Autumn, " Zale grumbled, his crimson eyes darkening as he pulled the line in.

Reyamet wandered along the side of a small stream, bored. Now that he was older, Evisule allowed him to spend longer amounts of time away, but although he liked exploring, it wasn't as fun as it could be with friends.
He looked up as he came to where the stream joined with a pond, and perked up when saw a yellow cattaur. "Zale!" He called, running around the edge of the pond to meet his friend. "What'cha doin'?" he asked, noticing what he was holding.

Willow yawned and turned the leaf over in her hands. "Yup, golden rod." She plucked several more of the golden weeds before tucking them into a small red leather satchel that was hanging from her shoulder. A wind rustled through the leaves making her realize how thirsty she had become since she had started hunting for herbs.
Wasn't there a pond nearby? She nodded as she sketched a quick map of the forest in her mind just to make sure. After all she and her family lived here in this tranquil part of their world. With that in mind she headed towards the pond.
Finally after what seemed like hours, but was just only minutes she came to a halt."Huh?" She peered out from behind the bushes and noticed the two taur at the edge of the pond.

Zale was startled from his musings by the approach of the blue cattaur. " Hey, Rey! " He laughed, rising up from his place on the dirty ground. The one day that he didn't have to worry about Jynx, he couldn't get a single bite.
He frowned, wrapping the twine around the small, crude rod as his stomach grumbled. " Just trying to get some dinner, " An easy, goofy grin spread across his face. " What are you doing? I didn't even see you come up here!"

The teen's ears perked up as she recognized the names. "Zale!" She moved through the bushes into the sunlight. "You're here again?" But her face split into a grin at the sight of them.
She looked back and forth between the two, "Rey! What are you doing here? But long time no see." She grinned, "I thought Zale was the only cattaur crazy enough to come through this way."

"I was bored, and I saw a stream, and I wanted to know where it went." Rey tilted his head. "Dinner, as in, fish? What do you need that for? Why don't you use your hands?" he asked, totally oblivious to Willow's presence for the moment, as she stood behind the bushes.
Guessing that Zale didn't know how to use his hands, otherwise he wouldn't have resorted to the stick and string contraption, Rey stepped into the water to demonstrate. "I saw Evi do it once," he said in a quiet voice, so as not to scare the fish. "She's like my big sister, but she's a cervitaur. I was really little, but I had a good view. She stayed really still... Let the fish get up close... and... GOTCHA!" he yelled, grabbing a fish about the size of his head, barely able to keep his grip as it wriggled wildly. He threw it to Zale, but didn't aim well and it landed a few feet behind his yellow friend, flopping on the ground.
He grinned proudly. "Wow, that was great! Now you try, Zale!"

Rey perked up as Willow came into view. "Willow!" he exclaimed, running over and hugging her, forgetting that his legs and hands were still wet from catching the fish.

Willow grinned at Rey's joy from catching the fish, but before she knew it she was being hugged. "Missed you too, Rey." She returned the hug before stepping back and attempting to wipe off some of the dampness that she had picked up from him.

Ah, another one who'd been raised by a cervitaur. If he wasn't feeling close enough to the other taur, he definately was now.
Zale was practically glowing with excitement. Why hadn't he thought to catch fish with his hands?! He briefly nodded Willow's way before diving headfirst at a dead run into the chilly pond. If you could catch them while staying still, why couldn't you catch twice as much by moving?
He swam in the same spot for a second as his eyes adjusted to the murky water. When a shiny orange thing swam past him, his arms started to flail around until a system starting working for him.
Zale choked but tried to hold in as much air as he could. His lungs were seriously starting to burn to the point where if he didn't get some oxygen, he'd die. However, he didn't want to be showed up by Rey, so he kept on swimming.

Willow sighed as she realized what Zale was doing. Diving in after him she motioned with her eyes and hands. 'At this rate all of the fish will run away with all of the racket you cause while swimming.' Or she tried to tell him that anyway by moving her hand far from him and pointing at the lack of fishes near him.
Suddenly her eyes focused in and she could tell that he was in dire need of some oxygen. So with quick motions she pointed upwards, 'Go up!' Please don't pass out on me, Zale!

Reyamet stood at the edge of the water and stared, unsure of why Zale had been down so long and Willow had jumped in after him. Were they playing a game? Could he join? Confused, the bright blue cattaur just watched his two friends.

Zale knew something was wrong when he saw Willow and it was even worse when she started moving as his vision blurred. What was she doing? Pointing up? His lungs constricted and that's when he got the message.
Swim, I've got to keep swimming. The taur kicked with all of his strength to the surface, gasping for air as he bobbled up and down.

Finally realizing that Zale was in trouble, Reyamet bounded into the water to help Willow get Zale out. He plunged his arms underwater and grabbed for Zale's arms, trying to tug his yellow friend out without going too deep himself, as Rey had never really learned how to swim.
"Zale!" he yelled. "Breathe, Zale! I mean, not in the water, but the air! Well, get out of the water so you can!" Flustered, Rey decided to just not say anything and focus on his friends.

Willow stared at Zale in panic, could she get him to the surface on time? Rey was helping as well but it didn't seem to be going in a good direction for Zale. She didn't want to rely on strength...it seemed she had no choice. There was something she had attempted at lately in her magic lessons....could she?
With a kick she shot back up towards the surface and opened her mouth wide for a gulp of air. Drawing runes and whispering in the sky she quickly made the air shimmer around her mouth before going back under to Zale. A blush spread across her cheeks as she grabbed his face and placed her lips on his for the spell. It took the water from his lungs and the air that she had brought back down with her and switched them. She smiled, "Now you can breath Zale." But not for long...she realized as she herself had to shoot back up to the surface before she ended up doing the same as the yellow cattaur.
Grabbing onto the shore she gasped and took deep breaths as the water left her mouth. "Rey!" She called back to the blue cattaur, "Tell him to get up and out of there before we lose him again! Or just drag him...something." She couldn't continue because of a small coughing fit which left her breathless again.

{ xd Nice, Neri. eek surprised Oh snap! Willow kissed Zale! }
Zale was momentarily confused. One minute he was trying to grab onto Rey's arms and the next, bam, he was being....kissed? Odd, but not as odd as the fact that he could now breath. Magic.
He paddled over to where Rey stood safely in the shallows and wrapped his arms around the blue taurs waist, dragging them both into the mucky shore water near Willow.
