Wings catching her long feathers, pushing her upward as they beat down, sending a soft pulse of wind outward from her inky form. her beaked masked cutting though the air, beady eyes watching the ground for where she was supposed to land.
The grip on her durable black case tightened considerably as she spotted the tree she had fallen out of. She had never shared her findings with anyone before, for as much talk as they did about being interested in her work, no one had never really wanted to take the time to sit down and see exactly what she did. She had just met this Numa Licorice… yeah that was her name, Crime had mistaken the Female for a ghost in the trees, something she was embarrassed about, but was highly surprised that she was not intimidated by Licorice’s presence. Others made Crime uneasy, they always boasted about how much they knew, or went into stories about there own Paranormal experience, trying to out do or impress Crime, something that irked Crime more then anything. Personal experience was not liable evidence of a haunting, all the more proof that showed that they didn’t really care about the true science of what she did. But Licorice, was completely unaware of this kind of science it seemed, or rather innocent to it, it amazed Crime that she didn’t know the tools used for it either, something as simple as a video. she flew on, starting to circle the aria above the tree, drifting slowly downward.

Licorice bounded back to the tree on three legs, her fourth holding two large chocolate bunnies freshly caught. She was extremely excited to see the gorgeous black numa again. She never before thought a black numa could be so beautiful until she saw Crime, and Licorice could only wish she were the same. It was exciting that Crime wanted to be around her too - Licorice felt stupid not understanding this "paranormal" stuff she spoke of, but she was enthusiastic to try. Back at the tree, Licorice moved her blue gaze to the sky and waved when she saw Crime, staring again at the other numa's gorgeous wings. How Licorice wished she could fly too though she doubted she would be such a sight even if she could.

Head jerking to the side as she saw Licorice waving at her, unable to return the greeting due to the case in her hands. Making her decent steeper to reach the ground quickly, her wings folded along her back and she flattened the case onto the ground to crouching over it fondly as she lifted her masked face up. Beady eyes trailing down to the two chocolate bunnies in her arms, jerking her head sharply to the side she let out a soft chirp. Fluttering her wings in curiosity. “Craaa. Did not keep you waiting long did I?” she asked hesitantly, not wanting to offend a potential friend.

Licorice shook her head and smiled to the gorgeous numa as she answered, "No, I just got back." She bounded over to the other and timidly offered the largest of the two bunnies, hoping it was sufficient. She grabbed the biggest she could find for her potential friend. "What's that?" the black and white numa asked, peering curiously at the box even as she still held the chocolate bunny above her own head to Crime.

reaching out a paw to the to bunny, blinking down at it for a moment, examining the details. Attention pulled away intently at the next Question, Crime settled the bunny closer, tucking it into her arm and she fidgeted backwards, giving herself room to open the case. "Craaa" she squeaked excitedly "This had all the best footage and sound files I've gathered from all my investigations" Jerks her head sharply to the side, remembering that licorice didn't know what footage was. Cawing softly as she played with the locks, snapping them open and lifting the heavy hood. "Craaa here" she said gesturing for the other Numa to come around. Shifting over slightly to give the other Numa room to settle next to her, as she ticked a couple of buttons of a stored keyboard. An inky black laptop the same color of her body gleaming within the case. Screen glowing softly as Crime began pulling up files and searching among them, as the while holding the bunny carefully, rather skillfully in the crook of her arm still able to type. A worry starting to surface in her mind "Craaaa.... do you scare easily?" she asked timidly

Licorice squeed with joy inwardly when the bunny was accepted, hugging the one she caught for herself. She watched Crime intently as the other numa opened the case and pulled out a strange black thing the likes of which Licorice had never seen before. Licorice wanted to poke it and see what it did, but she knew better than that and kept her paws to herself, eagerly and happily settling next to Crime when prompted. She tilted her head at Crime's question, thinking about that before she answered, "Sometimes..." She could only assume that what Crime was about to show her might be scary, but Licorice was determined to see what it was, swaying her wings up and down like a relaxed butterfly. It would not do at all to disappoint a potential friend so soon after meeting her - scary or not, Licorice was determined to sit it out.

Head inclined to the side, fingers stopping above the keys as she looked over at Licorice, coming to the realization that the other Numa really had no idea about the work Crime did. For the most part, Crime found that rather exciting. Anything Licorice could see was going to be a new and hopefully untainted experience. ”Craaa” she crowed thoughtfully, looking back at her computer. Some of her findings were disturbing enough to send a chill down Crime’s own spine. Before Crime would have just showed it with the enjoyment of seeing new and elaborate reactions from the company that was able to get close enough to her for her to show then her life’s work. But this one was so much more innocent then the others… and she had called Crime gorgeous… and gives her a chocolate gift. This should be a learning experience… not a chance for Crime to show off. “I’ll Craaa, warn you about it before it. craaa happens” she explained, scrolling though her older files, head tilting downward as she tried to pick one suitable enough. ”You know where the rainbow bridge is by the- Craaa, Grape River is?” Head jerking sharply as she tilted it to the side, eyes darting back to the Numa next to her. Crime noticed that Licorice had a rather powerful scent about her, not something Crime would describe as pleasant, she would sure not expect it to be a smell from a Candy anyway. In fact it smelled much like Heritage did when he came to visit her during a Swamp walk. Though why a Candy would smell like such a thing was rather curious to Crime, a curiosity that did not stretch so far as to inquire or comment upon it.

Licorice wriggled excitedly, always eager to see and learn something new even if she didn't understand it. Her ears perked up when Crime spoke again, and she looked up at the other numa before nodding. "My tree isn't far from the rainbow bridge," she answered. She had no true home, but she liked to think of the gumdrop tree as one even if it didn't protect her from rain or wind. At least she had plenty to eat because of it. Licorice swayed her tail and looked back to the strange contraption of Crime's. She was secretly elated, growing more excited by the moment. Crime wasn't mentioning or even seemed to notice Licorice's odor, something which drove other numas away from her. Maybe her nose didn't work like Kieran?

"Craa" she squawked excitedly, having picked a place so close by to Licorice that she was familiar with, it made Crime all that more eager in showing her findings from the bridge. Crime was curious if Licorice had already seen something before from there, it was the purpose of Crime's work after all to gather evidence for others to fall back on for personal experiences since stories contributed little with out something more solid to back them up. wings rustling as she pulled up the first video. pulling her hands away as she turned the laptop towards Licorice for her to see better.
it was paused video focused on the bridge, it was obviously dark due to the lack of color the camera had picked up, while everything was still visible, it had a dull, not to catching look about it. not very much like the rainbow swamp at all. "now, Craaa" Crime started lifting a paw up to point one of her fingers to a spot on the bridge. "this was the first time I've tried investigating there. Craa. this was towards the ed of the night before i was ready to pack up." she tilted her head to the side to look at Licorice. "craaa, you'll see something form up from the bridge, then, craaa, sink down though it and into into the water." her head jerked to the other side. arm readjusting the chocolate bunny nervously. unsure of Licorice response to that would be, would she think Crime was a freak for believing in this like some others did? fingering dangling over the "play" button, waiting to both push it or pull it away

Licorice blinked her blue eyes slowly, twitching her ears as she stared intently at the video. "...into the water?" she asked cautiously, noting how familiar the paused shot looked. Her tail bushed slightly, wings standing straight up when realization dawned on her. "I think I've seen that!" She squirmed a little in her spot, waiting for Crime to play the video. She did not look like she thought it was freakish at all - in fact, she looked just as fascinated as Crime, eager to see it and confirm if she was remembering right.

Crime could not constrain her excited squawk at Licorice’s confirmations to Crime’s findings. This was EXACTLY what she worked for! Shifting and ruffling her folded sings slightly in embarrassment at her reaction. Crime crooned softly as she regained her composure and played the video.
It was of course just as Crime had explained it to be. Though the actual visual of it had not been described in words. The sheer unknown of what the video could possibly be picking up, and the rather disturbing blackness of its form making its way to the center of the bridge, and sink down though the bottom, disappearing into the water with out once disturbing the glassy stream surface.
Once the video was finished Crime looked back at Licorice, this time somewhat eager for her opinion.

Licorice nodded vigorously when she saw the shadow on the video. "I've seen that! Lotsa times," she confirmed, happy her memory was not playing tricks on her. Now that she was actually thinking about it, an action she did not perform often, she could remember more details about it as well.
The black and white numa turned to Crime, blue eyes shining with excitement. "Saw it up close once - it was really weird. My fur all stood on end, and I got really cold. When it goes into the water, all the fish scatter." Had she been a little smarter, she might have been afraid of it, but she wasn't - it only confused and intrigued her, and she easily accepted it as normal.

Crime stared at her incredibly, she had to admit she was surprised by what Licorice was telling her. Crime herself still got shill every now and then when she had experiences, and she even had a couple of cases where she had to pack up early and head out, due to... though she hated to admit it, fright.
Crime understood, and accepted the possibility that Licorice could also just be humoring her... or even makeing fun of her with the stories. but Licorice had such an innocent air to her, Crime found that she was actually willing to believe her.
"Craa would you like to see more?" she asked.

Licorice once again nodded vigorously. "Sure!" This was actually rather fun, and she really liked this new numa. She had such interesting things in addition to being so beautiful, and Licorice also wondered if, perhaps, she had seen anything else odd like the rainbow bridge's ghost and had just not noticed the significance before.
Thinking about that, Licorice tilted her head and peered curiously at Crime, checking her wording a little before she asked, "Would you like to see it? It usually appears every few nights - it's due for one tomorrow night."

you didn't have to see Crime's eyes to know that they had grown wide as she quickly jerked her head up to look at Licorice. "Craaa, you have if on a schedule!?" she squaked amazed. well that had been a first, Crime always assumed that it was a random event. her feathers ruffled with barely contained excitement. "yes yes yes" she chirped the prospect of having not only another witness, but maybe someone to help her out. with another set of hands they could work one of the other tools, instead of Crime having to juggle them around... though she had to admit she had gotten pretty good at using more then one of her equipment at the same time.
