The Phoenix public park transformed in what seemed like a single night. Earlier in the week it was nothing but a desolate plot of land, the greenery burned away, the fountains dry and broken, the cobbled walkways scattered and cracked. But on the day of the party the park had transformed. The grounds were lush with green life, beautifully trimmed hedges with colorful blooms lined the newly cobbled walkways. There were gardens on display, large mazes with towering green walls, and the fountains and ponds were once again sparkling and moving with life.

As the sun fell beneath the horizon, the park lit up into thousands and thousands of tiny sparkling fairy-lights, draped all over and through the greenery. A feast began arriving, more food than most of the war refugees had seen in years, and set up into a buffet table inside the park, along with a large fountain of gold-colored punch.

Near the entrance to one of the mazes was a large round dance floor, surrounded by rose bushes in full bloom. Overlooking the dance floor stood a stone throne, from which the Queen of Hearts, with a red and white porcelain mask, watched her guests with an inner grin.

Update: The dome that kept people from flying out is gone, but exit at ground level will still require fending off vines and chopping through or jumping over a hedge.

Firey imps are falling from the ceiling, water creatures from the fountains, and there is the occasional rock golem. Vines will also pull you into the earth, poison you, or try to strangle you to death. Occasionally, the earth under your feet may turn to quicksand.

The Queen of Clubs (Famine) is dead, and with her went the wind that threw everybody around and fired missles at them. Ruby is dead, Ora is dead, and Cloud of FF7 is attacking Silent in midair. Any Arch-controlled characters are nowhere to be found, and AC needs another nap before she attempts to update the rest of these posts. ^_^

Devil: [location]
Classically masked as a horned and red skinned devil, he wears a darkening blue suit and taut black gloves. His head is crowned by long red hair.

A handsomely muscled man clad shoeless in white pants and open vest, one can see nothing of his head under that of a generic brown dog's.

An unwilling guest escorted by the Devil and the Hound, this writer cannot determine what his costume imitates. Oversized but comfortable black boots underscore thick and oft-cut pants of deep green and indeterminable material, while above the waist he wears only a simple black T-shirt and eyeless black mask.

Arthur managed to find a tiny white sheet barely reaching to his waist, and cut eyeholes in it. A crown perches precariously on top, and he entertains randomly with generic public disturbances. wink

Ruby/goddess Persephone: between the trees and the party
A barefoot greek goddess in a white linen folded and bound by a long golden rope, wearing a white and gold half mask. Her curled and pinned up locks have been sprayed gold, but water from the fountain has washed some away to show the red underneath and the dimples in her cheeks. A white rose rests in her hair and golden anklets on her dainty feet.
Has done/interacted with:
1)walked over to Hattie and given her an extra glass of punch
2)sipped her golden punch and invited Hattie to stop being a wallflower
3)invites Eric to join them in the fountain
4)drew Hattie towards the fountain and invited Batman Beyond out of the shadows to join them
5)noticed the Devil, Hound, and unwilling guest, smiling as she guessed at the unwilling one's ID
6)noted the "wallflower" in dark hooded cloak and ivory mask
7)splashed in the fountain with Hattie

A woman in a dark hooded cloak, keeping away from the crowds. Her simple ivory mask shines a dull gold in some of the fairy-lights.

3)shrugged with shoulder pain and accepted the half a pomegranate
4)escaped the party into the hedge and pulled off her diguise, only to realize she could not leave it again
5)thought she heard others in the maze and called out
6)recognized Verve as Blitz by sight, but not by voice, and finally decided it was him because she smelled ozone
7)tells Verve a healer is useless but escape would be welcome
cool was kidnapped by vines
9)screamed as the vines moved her around inside the hedge
10)freaked out at Verve's fatal-looking rescue while ED made a dirty side joke

Ora: standing by a wall
A tall woman with a rope of silver blond hair trailing down her back and a thin black mask over interested pale eyes. People make way for her, this calm and silent beauty in a dress like the night sky. The silver trim and intricate designs catch and hold one's eyes, distracting, for a moment, from the woman who wears it--but only until her pale skin or shining braid flash past it to remind that the dress merely accents the beauty of the girl.

1)examined a glass of punch and poured it into a rosebush
2)smiled and moved towards Verve
3)noticed SS Blitz but ignored while provoking Verve to prove himself with a display of electricity
4)hinted things in a low voice to Verve
5)told Verve to "watch out for the other three" (of the 4 cloaked girls, but he didn't catch on) and be careful what he ate
6)requested Verve tell her if he sees anything odd and goes back to searching the crowd
7)notices the moth with the Queen of Hearts and recognizes the nature of the barrier
cool notices Ayx puzzling over Death, but hangs back watching rather than show herself
9)wondered when Death would make her move
10)walked up to Miran and Drake to enlist them against the queens and to get people out of the party
11)informed that the queens gained power from the number of dead
12)informed Blitz that the queens could only be killed by their own silver daggers and that the creatures were vulnerable to opposing elements
14)informs Erica that a million souls have made the dools almost invincible and can only be harmed by their own silver daggers

Erica/Catwoman: with Ora
Moving with a casual comfort that spoke of years wearing similar costumes, she searches for a purple-haired woman other than the retired heroine the Purple Jinx.

1)Has mistaken the dragon-costumed Miran for Drake
2)has noted the Purple Jinx with a raised eyebrow
3)greeted her husband with a note on his eccentric flair
4)chuckled and was surprised Xeen recognized her so quickly
5)teased about Xeen knowing her voice after so long
6)was coy with Xeen
7)noticed Verve as Blitz and laughed
cool agreed to dance with Xeen but never did
9)told Xeen the Devil, Hound, and unwilling guest were not her friends
10)commented that having more than one Blitz on the scene would be troublesome

Queen of Hearts (fire, wasp--which is a highly ironic combination): stone throne?
Dressed as expected in immaculate red, black, white, and gold, the queen pins red curls up in heart-shaped black clips, leaving only a few to cascade down her neck behind the red and white porcelain mask. Enjoying the party from a distance, she deals in green moths and plays a glamorous game of pretend with her guests. Under her mask, she wears Ruby's face.

1)nodded acknowledgement of the Butterfly and chuckled at some of the costumed guests
2)mistook Miran for Drake, waved back
3)pretended to Aaron to be Ruby, sent him into the maze, told him the Queen of Spades would provide food
4)let out a pleased laugh at Alice and warned her to watch out for her head being chopped off
5)assured Alice that the food at the party was safe
6)noticed the Devil, Hound, and unwilling guest with a telltale gripping of her throne's armrest
7)acknowledged the Hound's greeting

10)received a signal from a green moth immediately before the barriers came down

Delirium/Queen of Diamonds (water): in the fight
Peculiar, she mimes. Underneath her mask, she wears the same face as a fifteen year old blond girl somewhere in the crowd. The hilt of her dagger is marked with a lily.

1)did hard work to glamous the party as the barriers came down
2)given Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy each a lollipop and bowed to them
3)watched the Drake/Miran mock fight eagerly
4)stood by Queen of Hearts' side and encouraged people to eat and drink
5)jumped up and down and set all the water in the fountains to reaching out and pulling people under to drown
6)fended off Miran's thrown blade with water and proceeded to drown "the cheerful ones"
7)screamed at the fire, turned into a puddle and reformed next to Verve
cool turned into a puddle at Verve's feet and tickled his foot
9)sliced at Verve with her silver dagger
10) pouts and continues to slice at Verve
11)Explains that her world is a shade of earth, with an unpronouncable name, and it will perish if they do not take over earth.

Famine/Queen of Clubs (wind, locust): in the fight
A full mask covers her look of disgust, but the heat of her glare can be felt by any who glance in her direction. Once the mask is taken off, we see that all she has are blank features and a fanged mouth that splits her face... inhuman.
Has done/interacted with:
1)graphically warns Knave not to mess with her
2)lets curiosity get the better of her and asks how the Knave would serve her
3)admits a desire for Ruby to die, and that any innocent death would be a good show
4)smiles in pleasure at the Knave's offer
5)asked Blitz what he wanted of her
6)tried unsuccessfully to poison Blitz and got ticked because he didn't keel over
7)stood at the right side of the Queen of Hearts and told Delirium that the death of the crowd would not come quickly
cool sent a wind attack and blow sharp debris at the guests

10)hissed and sliced at Miran with sand-and-poison tipped nails
11)had a sand creature grab Miran from behind

Death/Queen of Spades (earth, moths): in the fight
Keeping watch over a smooth plan with occasional visits from green moths, her long black hair reflects the light over a plain black dress marked by a white spade. The face she shares with Ora is hidden behind a simple black-and-white mask. A silver dagger with a rose hilt rests in her belt.
Has done/interacted with:
1)admired her plan from a distance
2)stood behind the other "queens" and given the word to commence slaughter while building the vines into a dome over the party
3)caught the batterang, tossed it aside, and sent a stone golem after Batman
4)fended off Sahira's dagger with her own and placed a dark-coated hand on Sahira's stomach
5)attacked and crushed Sahira with vines
6)put a stone wall up in front of Acelr and put her dagger back in her belt
7)withstood Acelr's attack with a slight burning and tried to strangle Acelr

A full silver mask hides the smirk of this Tuxedo Mask wannabe, his clothing and long flowing cloak the color of a dark rose. He sports fire at his fingertips.

2)came upon Verve trying to rescue Sahira
3)assists in the rescue of the doomed princess with fire

5)silently sought Aaron in the maze intending to protect the boy

7)ignored the hole in the hedge showing Sahira and Verve to continue searching at a 4 foot high glide
cool puzzled over the vines and how to get to Baroness, Cloud, Aaron trio

A young woman concealed in a cloak and marked by a green paper moth, she is even shorter than the Queen of Hearts.

4) Leaps past the queens vines and aims a hammer attack on the stone covering the queen's hand and dagger

6) snatches up the dagger and tries to pull it from the vine

Cheshire Cat: in a tree with Purple Jinx
A man dressed as a cat with a huge grin. Whether the grin is in the costume, or his, and whther or not he is purple, no one seems able to say.

1)gets a club bounced off his head
2)climbed a tree and sat on a branch
3)attempted to flirt with Purple Jinx and got a practical joke played on him for his trouble (pg.21)
4) pulled a jackknife out and phased through the vines, claiming the party as over
5) Climbs back up the tree to the purple jinx

Hattie/Rainbow: [location]
Blue eyes peeking out from a rainbow mask, the girl wore newly-dyed brown hair in a tight bun and pretended to be uncomfortable in her own dress. Plum with soft white designs, it came off her shoulder and stretched tight across the belly, flowing skirt still dripping from a romp in the public fountain.

1)sat alone on a carved stone bench
2)accepted and drunk the glass of punch Ruby gave with thanks
3)accepted an invitation from Ruby to romp in the fountain, freed sore feet from black heels, left the shoes by the grass
