Scarlette sat on a bench, his legs folded and his dress covering his legs as he flipped through the pages of a book he was reading. His wings would flutter slightly every now and then causing loose purple feahers to flutter down.
Slouching out of boredom of the book he ended up closing it, and ave a huffing sigh... Boooooring.

Beautiful autumn day, Xen thought happily to himself as his arms crossed behind his head, supporting it as he stared up at the blue sky, walking along the park path. Although he loved the warm weather, the coming of fall always meant longer nights and colder weather, as well as the hibernation and death of many things. It was a depressing subject, but Xenophon knew he just had to live up the last nice days of the year before they were all gone. After all, who knew if this winter was going to be a long one or short? It was hard to tell until February!
His golden eyes flicked over to a bench where he caught a glimpse of something... purple. That's odd, the thought crossed his mind; nothing was usually purple when it was nearing winter, as the flowers were always on their last legs if still there at all. His eyes caught sight of the wings almost immediately, intrigued by them. That wasn't something you saw on someone every day!
Leaning on the back of the bench, he leaned over curiously to get a better look at Scarlette, noticing some feathers on the ground. He reached over to pick one up, spinning it between two fingers to study it before eyeing the angel once more. "Are you a bird?" he blurted out without thinking.

Scarlette gave a squeak at the voice of some other being behind him... He hadnt noticed! Goodness! Frowning he turned around to look at the 'being', his hand on his chest. "Excuse me? A bird?" The sound of utter resentment was in his voice... Who was this feline?
The little wings on his skull fluttred lightly out of aggitation and a bit of frustration. "I am not a bird. Im anangel thank you very much." He eyed the other curiously before he regained all composure then asked, "What do you want anyways?" He was being defiant, it was just the way he was.

Xenophon was confused at the tone that Scarlette was taking with him. Was it so bad to ask that question? He liked birds, and the feathers reminded him of the avians, if a very colorful one. He blinked a few times, holding the feather he had picked up atone from his own body as he watched the angel.
When Scarlette had explained to him that he was an angel, he suddenly got it; or at least he thought he got it. "Ohhh, okay. Sorry, wings make me think of birds," he laughed, not nervous about the predicament in the least. Angels and birds were fairly different from one another, angels of legend usually being very powerful beings, so he figured that it was more of a misconception than the insult Scarlette was really taking it as. "You'd be a really colorful bird if you were! Though... I guess you are a really colorful angel instead!" he said, leaning over the bench back again.
"I'm not really doing anything myself, and it looked like you were done with your book there," he said, pointing to the closed book in the angel's lap. "I guess there's nothing I really want, per se, but it didn't look like you were doing anything. Oh..." he trailed off, leaning back to stand up straight again before continuing, "I wasn't interrupting anything, was I?"

Eyeing the other the angel was mildly dumbfounded... "Why are you telling me this? Why are you talking to me? Of course Id be a colorful bird. Im purple for heaven's sake! I'd probably be tropical if anything......"
He trailed off then blinked slightly shocked he'd said so much... It wasnt even meaningful words! Way to go ! Dumb angel... You wasted your words. Frowning slightly he sighed. As the other asked if he'd interupted him he nodded and snuffed, "Yes. You did. You've interupted my boredom."
"I must suffer 1 hour of boredom everyday...Well... it's more like I do suffer from boredom--" Here he went again, rambling on about nothings. had his school taught him nothing? Why was he changin everything now? Get a hold of yourself Scarlette! When he refered to his bordeom an hour every day, he meant he had to read. He ahd to sit and read a dumb old book that was boring and had no meaning to it...

"Why?" Xen repeated, mulling it over in his head. However, he only shrugged, a smile spreading over his face once again. "You were all alone over here, I guess. I was curious," he explained, not sensitive enough to the vibes that Scarlette was giving off for him to just go away. "Definitely tropical. I like those birds; they're so different, but in a good way. You know, it's not every day you see one!" he chirped, speaking mainly of the ones he saw in store windows and zoos, for it was obvious there were none in the wild around the city.
His head turned to the angel as he leaned his elbows on the back of the bench, forearms hovering straight next to Scarlette. He blinked slightly, ears twitching as he replied questioningly, "Well, isn't that a good thing? Nobody likes to be bored, after all." This guy was confusing... he didn't like being bored, did he? As Xenophon himself seemed to almost always have to be moving or doing something with his hands, it was inconceivable for someone to be able to tolerate being bored for more than a few moments. After all... boredom was the state of being frustrated with the fact there is nothing to do, right?
"Wouldn't you prefer to do something that was, well... fun? If you're bored, you should find something else to do! Maybe I can help!" He was chipper, that much was obvious. Probably from the autumn season that was so plainly visible all around and the warmth in the air. Or maybe he was just dense. Either way, his naive nature was shining through brilliantly, and he seemed not to have a care in the world.

Giving a huff the angel put his hands to his temples as he gently massaged them... What was this cat's problem!? Of all the nerve! Obviously he couldnt pick up on nonverbal social cues... He was about to pipe up about the tropical bird topic but he decided not to.
Shifting his weight, he had turned back around so the cat was behind him, but he was listening... Gently the small wings on the side of his head gave a small flutter twitch.
Scarlette was mildly amused at the attempt to lure him away from his studies. He always knew he had had a problem with staying focused on them, but people and teachings had taught him otherwise. He pretended not to be interested as he huffed again and looked to the other side away from the other, though after a moment he opened one eye to glance at the other. "What...are you purposing to do, hmm? How could you, a mere cat, help me?"

"Mm? You okay?" Xen asked, concerned over Scarlette's actions. His head tilted quizzically as he watched the angel fume over the feline's previous words, not understanding the situation. "Headache, huh? I find tea helps with that. Maybe we should get some for you," he stated matter-of-factly, not considering what could have caused such a headache to occur in the first place. After all, nothing of this sort had happened much before, nor had Xen ever met someone as uptight as Scarlette.
However, the angel's words only accomplished to confuse him further. "Mere cat?" he inquired, not understanding what it was suppose to mean. Either way, he shrugged it off, for he at least understood the first part of the question.
He opened his mouth to suggest something, yet immediately shut it and looked away, frowning a bit. No, that wouldn't work... he mulled. Xenophon had the urge to roll down the grassy hill in the park, though he figured that may be just a bit impractical for an angel. After all, he couldn't think of a way Scarlette could maneuver his wings in such a way that he could do it without hurting or break them, though he never even considered the unlikelihood that the other would even want to do such a pointless game. "Mmm... what kind of things do you like to do?" he asked, for even he could tell they had at least slightly differing tastes, and Xen didn't mind trying anything new!

Ruffling his feathers slightly the angel straightened his posture and smoothed out his dress. Gently he put any stray hairs back into place and reopened his book. "I like to be bored."
The only reason he did this was because he had NO CLUE what he liked to do. He almost never did ANYTHING he ever found 'fun'. Besides... this cat wouldnt be able to offer anything to help benefit himself would he? What would having 'fun' have anything to do with being proper and spoiled?
But for some reason the fact that he couldnt think of anything he enjoyed bother the angel... His eyes narrowed lightly at the book that was open before him once again. The words rang in his head annoyingly so... Finally with a huff and a small growl the angel slammed the book shut and looked up, but not at the cat. "I like... I like..."
Good god! He really couldnt! "I...I... I like to do my studying! I like being proper!" Yeah... That was it... it was...wasnt it? that was the right answer wasnt it? Doubt slowly crept in as he felt like he was being smothered. His only boat was sinking....

Xenophon blinked, disbelief on his face though skewed in such a way to suggest confusion. Not that it was anything new to his expression in the first place. "You... like being bored? Are you serious?" Obviously he didn't understand the aspect of 'sarcasm.'
Silently he crept over to the front of the bench, feeling that maybe Scarlette wouldn't appreciate his hovering behind him anymore while he tried to read his book. After all, others would snap at him for doing it before in the apartment complex, and he didn't want to frustrate the angel any further.
Unfortunately, it seemed to be too little too late. He jumped slightly in place before he got the chance to sit down next to the angel on the bench, the loud sound of the thickly-bound book slamming shut with such force startling him. He didn't do anything wrong, did he?
But it seemed Scarlette was more flustered with something else, not the cat himself. An ear cocked to the side as he gave a curious yet concerned look to the avian. "You... like being bored... You should get out more," he mulled over quietly before beaming. "Have you ever done anything else? Maybe I can show you around, huh? Show you a good time?" Sure, he may have been getting in over his head, but Xen was never good at predicting even the simplest of situations.

Scarlette's wings ruffled once again as he was getting a bit stessed at the situation, easily riled if one must say. He didnt look at the cat frustrated with himself as he started to mumble.
He was turning into a complete reck over this little thing it seemed but he couldnt find the answer he needed! It was completely evading him! At the suggestion of getting out more he glanced at Xen. "I get out..." He got out to this bench everyday for one hour just to read his book. Unless it was cold then he stayed home.
Shifting a bit in his seat, he was mildly uncomfortable at the final sugestion of Xen showing him a 'good time'. Glancin at the feline a moment he looked back down at his hands on his thighs as he nervousy smoothed out his dress.... "I...I shouldnt..." Why? Why shouldnt he? He had no reason what-so-ever why he should 'rebel' but he had no reason to why he shouldnt either besides it's against what hs been taught.... It was going to take some serious persuading on the cats part to pry the angel from the bench....

Xenophon found himself snickering at Scarlette's simple reply, taking a seat on the bench as he had tried to do just moments before. "No, I mean getting out and about! You know, doing what other people do for fun when they're outside. A lot of people come out to the park here around this time of year to have any last bit of fun they can have before the snow comes in winter," he explained, motioning with his hands. He glanced around, looking for a good example before blurting out, "Like there!" He pointed out to three people in the large expanse of grass tossing a frisbee around to each other, attempting to keep it away from a hyperactive golden retriever.
His mouth tweaked slightly as the angel said that he shouldn't, unsure as to why. He leaned back, keeping silent for a bit as he watched the people playing off in the distance. Without warning, he asked, "Shouldn't.... or won't?" He didn't glance over, eyes still fixated through half-lidded eyes, though his mind was on the conversation. He could tell Scarlette was uncomfortable, but that was the main problem; the angel just needed to loosen up. Strictness was good in some instances, but it could harm the person in ways as well.
Either way, he thought he may be being just a little too pushy. Maybe starting off with something small? "We could get some ice cream or something, if you want. It's not too cold for something like that yet!" he offered.

Silently he listened, not quite sure what to make of the situation anymore. He'd always been panicky about odd things. Thing snot in his routine. That was WHY he had a routine, so this wouldn't happen.
When the other exclaimed pointing to the people playing he blinked and watched momentarily before looking at Xen. "Why in the world would you want to do something so...so..." he looked back at the group, scrunching his nose as he tried for a word. "Juvenile?" He really couldnt see what was so fun with chasing around plastic disc. On top of that they were teasing the poor dog. It made no sense and he wasn't capable of making the connection...
At the next question he looked back at Xen then frowned a bit looking back down at his hands on his legs... Shouldn't or won't? There was a correct answer for that wasnt there...? At the final offer, Scarlette looked at Xen before straightening himself and standing.
"I dont have any money with me." Though secretly he had a sweet tooth for the cold sweet. It was one of his favorite things and often ate it at the estate when no one was around. Gathering his book he watched Xen a moment, curious how the other could seem so.... free. It wasn't fair was it...

Xenophon laughed at Scarlette's scoff at the frisbee idea, though it may have just been because he didn't really understand the angel's aggravation with it. "It was just a suggestion. Some people do it to get their minds off of other problems, you know? To relieve stress. Some people do it just to hang out with friends, do things they used to when they were kids," he tried to explain. It didn't help that Xen usually tended to act like a child anyway, almost as if he was unable to grow up, but he didn't think it mattered much.
His ears twitched as he turned his head to look at Scarlette, noticing his uneasiness at the question. He didn't mean to make him feel like that, he just wanted him not to be so tense around him. He didn't seem to realize the strangeness of the situation, being a complete stranger, but this much may have been obvious to anyone.
"Aww," he pouted as the angel stood up. "But... I can pay for yours! And I won't hold you up to paying me back, either," he quickly added, feeling that if Scarlette would just spend the day with him it would be payment enough. Either way, it's not like he would even remember to pester anyone for payment anyway. He fidgeted slightly, afraid the angel would just walk away if he wasn't careful.
