"Why can't I go to Holden's?" Adair demanded as he glared up at his mother. The kitsune had denyed his request to go to his best friend's apartment today, even though he was sure Holden would love to have him over after all, they were best friends right? But Kainda said she didn't want them over there today.
"I told you." the kitsune sighed, rubbing her forehead, trying to ward off the headache, "Tristian has work right now so Holden is probally with a babysitter or something and we shouldn't bother him. Now we're going out, okay? We can explore together, and maybe you'll make a new friend." Kainda urged, trying to compermise. She wanted Adair to make more friends anyway.
"I don't want to make new friends. I want to play with Holden." Adair pouted as he tried to tug his clawed hand free from Kainda's tight grip but she refused to let him go. Besides the obvious problem of him attempting to run away if he draged his claws across her hands it would scratch her. She already had some marks from when he did so earlier and while Kainda was not a vain woman she also didn't fancy scars all over her hands.
"You guys can play later." she snapped back to her boy, "For now we're taking a walk, so stop being a spoiled brat!" Maybe it wasn't the best parenting technice but Adair fell into silence, grumbling as his eyes glared down at the ground. He wasn't a spoiled brat, he just didn't see why he had to take the stupid walk, around the stupid compound. Kainda would just get lost anyway. Then they'd never get back home and what if Holden was going over right now? Then he'd miss it.
It was stupid, stupid, stupid.

It was a beautiful day outside. The sun was shining. The birds were chirping, and Evie was nowhere to be found.
Score!
Today had been like any other day. You know, wake up, eat, and...accidentally trash the apartment. It wasn't like Ivan strived to destroy it. No, of not. Why would he do that to his sister? It would just be another reason for her to yell and nag at him. Honestly though, Evie should be happy that Ivan was staying her. Free babysitting. Come on now. How much better can you get?
Although, the trashing the apartment could make up for that...but whose really considering that?
"Icky," Elisa began as tugged on tattered jeans. Icky was the loving term adopted by Elisa for her uncle considering she found him dirty. Elisa just really wished he was more of a gentleman...and possibly showered more. "Mummy won’t know where we are. She'll be mad at the mess. It’s not polite to leave it for someone else."
That’s the point. Evie wasn't supposed to know where they were, but he wasn't going to tell Elisa that. Nope. She would have more in hands to blackmail him with. Since telling the truth was the "lady-like" thing to do.
"Oy. Evie will be fine," Ivan began with a smirk. "Plus, it's a nice day for a walk. Meet new people."
New people? Elisa was up for meeting new people. She hadn't really met a lot of souls on the compound.
"Come on, Icky~!" Elisa chimed as she toddled ahead of the man.

They just so happened to be on the same path. The uncle and neice, and the argueing charge and guardian. Actually the guardian and charge were looking away from each other as their nice walk was currnelty being ruined by two immature souls. Kainda wasn't use to having to be the one to say sorry first. Her brother knew how to soothe his sister's feathers and friends just came easier.
But Adair was a child, and currently pounting at what he thought was a horribly unfair judgement of his personality. His eyes glanced to his guardian now and then with a vicious pout, but Kainda wasn't looking at him defiantly, just so she wouldn't notice those little glares.
I'm doing him a favor aren't I? the guardian thought to herself, annoyed that her good deed was being tossed out the window like it was a punnishment. I should show him a real punnishment. Like stand in the corrner, or be grounded to his room, or have to clean the whole house, top to bottom like she had too. That would show him what punnishment really was.
Adair turned to glare to his guardian once more when he saw something different on the path in front of him. For a moment he only stared as he saw a girl with a man walking down the street, still a little ways away. Adair never seen a girl before, nor had he'd ever seen one look so human. Instantly he was interested. Once again he tugged at his claws, but this time Kainda was in a bad enough mood to let him go. Adair grinned in victory once, then ran ahead, unaware that the kitsune's eyes were following him.
Where is he-oh Kainda thought when she noticed the girl. With quick steps she ate up the ground between her and Adair but didn't try to snatch the gryphon again. After all, he was doing what she wanted, making new friends...maybe.
Adair stared for a long moment as the girl, just standing in front of her before he opened his wings wide to declare his dominance, then grined at the same time. "Hi."

Oh! Pretty! This boy had wings and a tail; though his tail wasn't fluffy like Holden's, it was still a tail. Elisa really liked Holden's tail...Fluffy tail...but this one had a tail too! Pretty tail...and wings! It was almost too much for Elisa to take in as her eyes went from tail to wings to tail to wings.
Pretty. Pretty. Pretty.
But a lady never stares. It's rude, that's what Evie taught her at least. No staring. No pointing. No...whatever that wasn't lady-like. Yeah. Things not lady-like.
Snapping herself back into reality, Elisa smiled back at Adair and curtsied. "Hello. My name is Elisa."
Ivan stood back and smirked a bit. There. Now he had an excuse.
Looking over in Kainda's direction, Ivan saluted her with a cheeky grin. "'Ello there. Nice day?"

Adair tilted his head at the cursty, not entirely sure what that didn't seem weird to him, to have a girl curtsy in front of him. But he replied with a deep bow of his own, one hand crossing his chest, and the other sweeping his wing back like a dramatic cloak. Then his head popped up as he grined.
"I'm Adair." he introduced as he straightened, deciding that was really fun. He'd have to do that more often, maybe he'd show it to Holden, and they could be like...princes or something. Not lame princes who stay home and do nothing but the cool princes that went out to war on a loyal steed.
Kainda stared at Adair for a long moment as he did that. How would he know how to do that? Then again he was suppose to have a past life, maybe he was royality or...something. Kainda shrugged it off, glad he seemed out of his bad mood now and turned to ook over to the man. She shifted a bit but nodded.
"I geuss so." Kainda shrugged a bit as she flexted her scabbed over hands. "Me and the kid were fighting there for a moment, but he seems to have a bit of interest in your girl, so hopefully he'll stop being a brat."
Adair glared over to Kainda, ears flicking back as he heard what she said, "I'm not a brat." he declared quickly, then turned to give Elisa a gentleman's smile. "I just wanted to play with my best friend." he explained to her. "Holden."

Ivan couldn't help but chuckle to himself. Elisa, his girl? This idea needed hysterics rather than a mere chuckle. It was hard enough to get Evie to allow him babysit, but someone giving him a child of his own? Ha. Even Ivan found that hilarious.
Elisa was taken back at first by Adair's gentlemanly charm. She had met Holden and Osha previously and sure, they were very nice as well as very pretty, but this Adair fellow was the first boy she met that has been a true gentleman. He actually bowed back. How charming.
But then he said Holden's name. Letting out a gasp, "You know 'Olden too?" Elisa exclaimed happily.
The fluffy Pretty...
"Brat, eh?" Ivan mused out loud with a smile. "But where are me manners. Me name's Ivan. I be Elisa’s uncle."

Adair grined as he realized Holden knew the girl. He should find out who else Holden knows. Just so he can remember whose a friend of a friend and whose a stranger. Besides the girl was pretty herself. Adair smiled happily as he nodded.
"Oh yes. He's my first mate." he added proudly, ears perking up as his wings folded closer to his body. No longer worried about her trying to take over dominance he didn't feel the need to keep his wings large. "We're best friends. He's super cool." Adair said casually, "How do you know him?" the gryphon asked, still smiling.
Kainda was watching, noticing how different Adair was with a girl. Which was odd since he shouldn't really care much about girls. Or really notice a difference betwen them and guys, yet he seemed too. Weird, she better keep an eye on him.
"Hmmm?" she said in responce to ivan, mildly distrasted by Adair before her eyes went back to him and she smiled a little, "Oh, i see. I'm Kainda, and that's my charge." Kainda felt uncomfortable with words like son, and mother.

Clapping her hands happily, Elisa was simply glowing and grinning ear to ear. Now wasn't this wonderful? Not only was this boy a gentleman, a Pretty, but he knew Holden as well. This boy was friend material. Yep. The first prerequisite was being pretty, and Adair passed that. Actually, he excelling.
"Elisa helped 'Olden find his puppy, 'Amlet," Elisa replied returning the grin. That day was certainly interesting. She escaped from Ivan and found Holden crying over his lost puppy. It was her resolve to find Hamlet for Holden since he had a fluffy tail and was pretty.
"Adair is pretty like 'Olden," Elisa continued with a nod of her head. Almost everyone she’s met has been fuzzy and fluffy with tails. Why couldn't she have a tail too?
Throwing a glance at Elisa, Ivan chuckled to himself. She really did have an obsession with pretty things... "Nice to meet you, Kainda. Evie is me twin sister, and Elisa's mum." Ivan paused for a second to look around, almost as if he was paranoid that Evie may suddenly pop out of nowhere to strangle him. "Not quite sure where she be today..."

Adair perned a bit under the compliement. Though he wasn't entirely sure if pretty was the right discription for a boy he accepted the compliment readily. He even galnced over himself and the grabed his real cape, holding it out. "I got some cool clothes. Do you like them?" he asked her with a grin, wanting more compliments.
But he remembered the puppy Hamlet too, and smiled at that, "I bet he was happy over that." Adair said with a smile, thinking about quiet, gentle Holden. "He loves his puppy. I wish I had a pet." Adair admited as he frowned a bit, his eyes glancing to Kainda.
The kitsune shook her head slightly. She could bearly surive Adair, much less a pet. She might have Adair get a pet when he's older and it's up to him alone to take care of it, but now when most of the care would fall on her, no thanks.
"Proably shopping or something." kainda shrugged offer the woman easily, as she didn't know her, or have her around, so the kitsune had no interest. "Geuss you're taking care of your neiece while she's away?"

Elisa nodded cheerfully to the boy's question. He did have pretty clothes. Pretty feet. Pretty tail. Pretty wings. Wings...Pretty. Pretty. Pretty.
"Yes," Elisa began to explain. To her, Holden seemed to be very upset about his missing puppy. He was talking in riddles, when he did talk. Well...they were like riddles to Elisa. He was talking about a missing flower on a boardwalk, or at least, that’s what Elisa first got out of it. "'Olden was very happy to get 'Amlet back. So you no pet either? Elisa plays with Grand Mama's kitty, but he's mean. He hogs Elisa's bed." She added sourly.
It was true. Since Mr. Foofoo had taken up camp at their apartment due to Grand Mama throwing out her back, the particularly large cat gravitated to Elisa's room. He would hiss and scratch at her if she tried to get near. Elisa wasn't too found of the cat nor was the cat of Elisa. It may be because when Elisa was younger she would follow the cat around in order to step on his tail, but who holds those types of grudges. Really.
Ivan stifled a chuckle. It was a rhetorical question, but the idea of Evie shopping was actually kind of funny. "Who knows," he mused to himself. He was just glad she wasn't here, or he'd be dead.
Turning his attention back to Kainda's question, Ivan scratched his head. "I guess you can call me the resident babysitter. Me sister goes to college, so I watch the kid whenever she has class or whatever other rubbish she does."

"I'm part cat!" Adair said quickly, smiling at her, then realized she didn't like cats, "Well...not completely. I'm part lion." he changed, deciding lion sounded better than house cat anyway. Hiw tail flicked and then moved so she could see it better. Adair didn't like to grab parts of his body because his claws can hurt. He was still learning how to use them well. "And egale. It's part of being...whatever I am." Adair wasn't completely sure. Kainda said he was part...something. He forgot the word. If he was speaking to Kainda right now he'd ask, but he wasn't so he wouldn't.
"That cat sounds mean. It's not right that it should have your room. If you want we can go scare it out." Adair held up his claws and made his ears go back as he groweled deeply, then perked right back up. "Kainda says I could scare a tree if I tried hard enough." Adair was a little proud of that fact, he liked feeling like people couldn't hurt him, though he wouldn't like to be scary ALL the time. Then no one would want to play. "You should have your own bed and room." Adair said wisely, nodding quickly.
"Ugh, college. I don't understand why so many people want to spend money to be traped in doors all day." Kainda made a face. She and the schooling system never really got along. She graduated, bearly, and that was only because she knew her parents would mark her off as stupid if she didn't. Kainda wasn't stupid, she just didn't see the point in learning though books and crap, it was boring. There was a whole wide world out there and she was suppose to spend her life traped in a room listening to some old man talk about things she'd never use? No thanks.
"Well, it must be nice. I'm not entirely sure what to do with Adair when I go to work. I think I need to remind my brother I'm staying here rent free. Then he'll come and mooch and I can use him like your sister is using you." Kainda said the rather harsh statement with a small smile. She loved having her brother around. He didn't nessicarily make things better but he always made things more bareable, and things just seemed to be handled better when he was around.

Elisa bounced and clapped her hands together gleefully. She was positively glowing. This Adair was just...wonderful. He was getting better and better every minute. Not only was he charming like herself, but he was pretty like her too. He was also going to save her from the grouchy Mr. Foofoo. Now, that was just magnificent. Adair was seriously becoming her prince charming.
"Yes. Yes. Yes!" Elisa beamed inching closer and reaching to grab his hand. She would take him to her room to exorcise the demon cat.
Ivan knew exactly what Kainda was talking about. Nobody could pay him enough money to go to school...Well...maybe he would go for money, but he wasn't going to promise to do anything like...work. School and Ivan never seemed to mesh. He was forced to go to private school since everyone in the Doury family went to private school, but he never did anything. He was known as the bad boy of school. Drugs, drinking, and skipping class was what he was known for. That is if he actually went. He had just recently cleaned himself up and crashing at Evie's was the cheapest way.
Ivan smirked. "Not exactly sure that Evie’s using me. More like I'm using her, but I can see where you’re coming from. I guess it’s give and take rubbish."
Ivan did like the sound of Kainda's brother. Sounded sort of familiar, like himself. He'd probably get along with him.
"But hey, I could watch your kid if you ever needed it," Ivan began. "Resident babysitter."

Adair pulled his hand back quickly, not wanting the young girl to scrap her hand against his claws. But he quickly took her hand and wraped it around his arm in a more gentlemanly fashion. But more he just didn't want to risk hurting her by accident. They were friends now and Adair didn't hurt his friends.
"Great! Where do you live?" he asked quickly as he gave her a large smile. He loved making new friends. She was quickly joining his like list along with Holden, and the best part was that Holden and Elisa knew and liked each other which meant they could ALL hang out. It would be so much fun.
Kainda nodded absently, it was what she meant. Her bother would get something out of it too. Free place to stay, free food, he'd get his worth of perks for being a baby sitter, when ever it was he decided to come at least. She hopped soon.
"Yeah, I geuss so. Well siblings are suppose to use each other, what else is suppose to keep them together?" she asked as her eyes moved over to Adair who seemed to be leaving. She raised an eye brow and took a step forward to try to stop him when Ivan mentioned baby sitting.
"Really? That actually would be helpful." Kainda admited, glancing over Ivan. Some part of her warned leaving a little kid with someone she bearly knew. Then she looked over to Adair, he had claws, and teeth, and his back feet look dangerous too. He wasn't exactly someone she feared getting hurt. He could take care of himself.
"Can I have a number or something so I can call if I need a sitter?" Kainda asked.

Gleaming, Elisa could barely contain her excitement. A gentleman! This Adair was an absolute gentleman! He took his arm and everything! It was just like the princess stories that Evie told her. Did that make Elisa a princess? Of course! How could she not be a princess when she was accompanied by such a prince?
The thought almost made the toddler melt. She was a princess, and Adair was her prince! Just wonderful! Amazing! Absolutely lovely, and she loved this. She loved the feeling of being a princess, but she also just loved meeting someone who was proper as well.
Smiling widely back at Elisa, she pointed with her free hand towards the apartment complex toward the gardens. "Elisa lives over there. We go?"
Thinking about it, Ivan thought what Kainda said made sense. Ivan's mooching and using was paid back with Evie using him to her benefit. It all worked out in the end; although, Evie might not see that. She'd just see Ivan as more of a hassle, but hey, what is family for? They should love and support one another. Ivan's support just meant him crashing at your house and eating your food that you worked for. He did watch the kid. Free babysitting. Evie should be more appreciative.
"Sure," Ivan replied to Kainda's question as he groped around his pants for a pen or something. He finally found his date book and tore out a page to write his number on. "Ignore the other number," he mumbled as he scratched out some woman's name. Who needed her number anyway...

Adair smiled, glad that she seemed happier with hold his arm than his hand. He walked with a dingity that should have seemed odd for such a young boy but he held it well. He found it easier to walk with her like this anyway, like he had done it a thousand times before. He grined at the girl, enjoying these...princely feelings that she managed to inspire perfectly.
"Yes, lets go, and I'll scare that cat good." Adair promised, his grammer not exactly up to speed with his current gallent personality. He walked off without even thinking to talk to Kainda, though her anger with her has now long passed it just didn't even occur to him to ask permission. It wasn't like he was going off to the woods, but a house, no big deal.
"Elisa likes other animals right?" he asked her with a smile, thinking they shoudl ahve some converstation. "I think doggies are super cool. Kainda is part fox which is a type of dog." he added, eager to teach.
Kainda took the number and let out a small chuckle, "Well aren't you the little charmer." she mentioned idly, but sufficantly forgot the number. Kainda couldn't remember the last time she really tried to flirt with a guy. In high school she got into a few serious realtionships but once she started really living on her own they just sort a died. She wasn't in the mood to just fool around and never met anyone special enough to really care for.
The fox looked up when she was done putting the paper away and realize that Adair and Elisa were gone. "Where the hell did the kids go!?" she gasped, looking around, turning quickly as she snifted a little bit, moving over to where they were a moment ago. "Adair!?"
