Berm came to the edge of her small village and paused. Yesterday the trees and all the forest wore a glorious shade of green. Overnight, it seemed, they had taken on a golden tinge. Soon they'd all be falling. Which was the reason she was leaving to hunt this morning. The harvest festival would soon be upon them and her grandma wanted a cage full of live, white bats.
Berm had set traps a few evenings before. With luck, by now they'd be full. And there was no harm in doing a little hunting on the way, now was there?

Galen sighed heavily as he slowly made his way through the trees. Once again he had had a fight with his sister and stormed off with the excuse of hunting early but he wasn't feeling like hunting.
Walking slowly he watched the sun start to filter gently through the golden leaves giving them a glow that was almost magical. Lost in though he pulled from his thoughts by a sudden movement from the bushes in front of him.
stealthily he readied his bow and waited for the creature to come through the bushes.

Just as she pushed though the bush Berm caught a whiff of a flower lingering from late summer and sneezed. Her sneeze was adorable, a little high pitched and it made her bounce slightly. She hated it.
Covering her still dry nose she pulled her last leg free of the bushes and walked on. Content that at least no one had been around to see it.

His bow dropped as her saw the Cervitaur come through the bushes. He nearly fell over when she sneezed. He held back a slight chuckle. He had never heard anyone sneeze like that before.
Watching her move of it was clear she hadn't noticed him. But then again with the turning of the leaves he did blend into the trees rather well.
Standing up he followed her a little distance behind wondering what she was doing out this early.

Berm had feeling someone was watching her and no matter how silly she felt she just couldn't shake it. Grabbing her sling she looked around franticly, until she turned sharply stopping face to face with Galen. Her words started out quiet and timid but grew quickly to loud and fierce, "What in the dark woods are you doing, following me?!"

Galen was taken by surprise as the other taur turned around and promptly landed on his butt.
Taking this chance he looked her over carefully. Normally the only other Cervitaur he saw his own age was his sister.
"I...i...wasn't following you." he stammered nervously "i just happen to be going in the same direction"
Glancing around quickly he noticed some animals grazing through the bushes.
"look i was hunting them"
All to soon he realised his mistake as often those animals were kept as pet by young taurs and were known to taste terrible.
"I'm Galen" he added Cursing inside he hoped that She wouldn't have noitced his slip up.

She let the rock fly, hitting a tree with with a sharp crack and scattering even the bravest of the small beasts. "Weirdo," She huffed and started back down the trail.
((Did I mention she's a hand full?))

Galen flinched as the stone hit the tree. Thankful that it wasn't thrown at him.
Getting up quickly he trotted after her.
"so do you have a name?" he asked stumbling through the bushes
((that's ok he's clueless XD ))

"Berm Dillian," she stated, half expecting him to laugh. "And before you ask I'm going to check traps."

"Thats a nice name." Galen said with a smile working his way through the under growth.

"White bats," now she sounded proud, "Grandma wants them for the harvest festival. What's your name anyways?"

"Oh i'm Galen. Galen Bison" he said looking ahead happily "i remember something about white bats when i was younger. But i was away for the last harvest festivel."
He stooped for a second to duck a low hanging branch
"what's the deal with them being so important"

"They're for painting! You can't paint the dark ones easily so you have to catch the white ones. Grandma says they're for the children but I think she really wants to paint a few for herself. Then, at the end of the festival we release them all at once and turn the sky a million colours... don't you remember?"

"I remember a bit." galen smiled slightly "My sister told me off cause i painted mine with pink and it was a 'girls only' color. She took the paints of me then and i wandered off to hear the story teller."
He chucked slightly
"i think i might paint one this year. You want a hand with them"

Berm snickered. "Sure, if you haven't a thing better to do with yourself."
((Sorry for the short post after all this time. XD I can't see Berm being any more social then that at this point though.))
