Welcome to the regional thread for outside the United States. This includes any countries outside the US.
If you want to know if people will attend a contest, workshop, invitation, regional, tryouts, ETC that TAKE PLACE IN THESE countries/areas post HERE. Anyway... Is anyone here going to Music-fest in Ottawa, ON, Canada in 2005?
If you are, what level is your band entering in and what pieces are you playing?

I'm still in Gr. 9 (Junior high) so we don't actually tour or travel sad But I really want to, and my brother (Gr. 11) is going to go to Germany!! And Italy too, I think... Lucky bum. Oh, and I'm from Canada by the way. I forgot to mention that.

Your brother's band is LUCKY! I think the furthest my band has ever gone was Florida a LONG time ago.

I have no idea really; when we go this year it'll be my first time.

oooh kewl. ya we were talking about going to montreal so maybe it's there. if we go it'll be my second time. i really wanna go this time cus the first time i went was my first year in band and i kind of faked my way through one of the songs xd this time i actually want to play lol.

Hi, I'm from Canada, and Ontario...anyone else?
Anyways, this post is regarding the Ontario Band Association, or the Ontario Honour band.
Has any one heard of this?
I don't know how many gaians are even from Canada, much less Ontario! My band teacher gave a few of her students (including myself) a form to get into this OBA, or the Ontario Honour Band.
I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about, or even been involved in this? I really want to try it out, but I'm not really sure what it entails.
Also, if anyone could give me ideas for solo pieces for Alto Sax, that would be awesome!

Although, you have got me interested now. sweatdrop I think it's only been going for like 4 years or something like that. It doesn't sound like it's been around for a long time. My teacher just kinda handed me a form and told me to talk to my parents about it. I think the website is something like... www.onband.ca but I'm not 100 percent sure about that!

Oh man, I sound so nosy! Nope, I've never been before. The closest thing to a band camp I've ever to was a three-day "Music Leadership Camp" at Frontier Trails. I play trumpet in all my bands and guitar and a little bit of piano. EDIT: If I can get enough money by March, i think I'll be going this year! biggrin
