((*so shot for the title*))

Keebin was out in the park, far later than any sane parents brought their kids to play. Fortunately, there were no insane parents invading her space. She liked the silence and the emptiness and pretending that she might actually be all alone in the world. It was.... different than her everyday chaos and school. So on a Saturday night, around eight, she was alone in a park, barely swinging on her swing. She had her wings out in a comfortable fluff as she stargazed, daydreamed and imagined.

((I couldn't come up with anything else, sorry.))

Frequenting the park was a habit that Rampage had picked up recently, as it was quiet, and it left him alone to think. He was often told that he let his imagination run away, but he liked it that way, and was always quick to retort when people brought the subject up. Come to think of it, he was quick to retort to anything. So he found himself, on a quiet Saturday wandering through the park lost in his own thoughts. Thinking himself alone, he started to act as though he were a super-tough pokemon fighting for the glory of victory in some far-off championship, tackling and pouncing on the air and making ridiculous sounds.

((It's a learning experience for both of us. biggrin ))

Keebin heard a rather odd sound, like slithering, and glanced over. Another person was at her park. Well.... he looked like he wanted to lose himself in thought as much as she did. A peer. She didn't mind it. He had no legs. She found that funny in whatever odd part of her mind. She turned her head back towards the sky, doing her best to make out the constellations, trying to remember the stories Zach told her about them when she was a child. She missed that. Maybe she could get him to tell her more stories. She kicked at the ground and swung squeakily.

((I didn't make this all that good of a conversation starter *shot*))

Jarred back to the present by a set of squeaks, Rampage immediately snaked his way behind the nearest cover to look around, hoping fervently that whoever was nearby hadn't seem him...Peering through a bush, he saw a girl, probably of similar age to himself, sitting on the swings pensively. Debating whether or not to leave the park, his curiosity finally got the better of him, and he snuck out to near the swingset and then stepped out into the light, curiosity mixed with impatience written on his face. "What are you doing in the park? It's nighttime." He put particular emphasis on the word 'you' and the word 'night', apparently stressing the fact that she didn't belong, when he quite clearly didn't, either.

Keebin did mind that he interrupted her peacefulness. And what right did he have to ask why she was here? It wasn't as if he even knew her and as if he could ask that hypocritical question. If he thought it was so bad to be in a park at night, he could leave. It wouldn't bug her. But if he stayed, he'd better shut up or not act like such an idiot. "I could say the same for you," She said boredly, making it obvious she'd known he was there. She fluttered her wings, feeling the wind between her feathers and allowing it to calm her. She continued her previous sentence, "Obviously you're in a park and I'm fairly certain that you know it's night just as much as I do," Her voice had a little more acid in it.

"W-well, of course I do! I was just checking, that's all." Thrown off his guard by the girl's sharp response, Rampage tripped over his tongue. Obviously, this girl was not someone to walk on. Switching tactics at the speed of light, he suddenly sat down on another swing and said "I'm sorry, I meant no offense," though it was quite clear that offense had been in his mission parameters. "I'm just so un-used to seeing people here at night. What's your name?"

Keebin was still annoyed at his insolence and tangled up his words, twisting them, throwing them back, "If you had a mirror, you'd see one whenever you're here," She said cheekily. She swung a bit, ignoring him for the calmer and more peaceful feel of the air slipping between her feathers. Without any of her prior insolence, she responded to his question, "I'm Keebin. And you are?" Then she pulled back, grabbing an earlier question and saying it a great deal more politely than it had been said initially, "What are you doing in the park?" She flapped her wings, causing her swing to move backwards and the adjacent ones move forward.

"I--Oh, wha? I'm Rampage...N-nice to meet you." He shook his head, stung at how easily his words has been used against him, and tried to calm himself down, letting his mind wander...Unfortunately, that wasn't very good for conversation, so he was having an altogether bad time of it. "I come here alot because I can just think...I think..." It was odd, because most other people would be taken aback by his personality and would immediately feel they had done him wrong...But this girl, this girl reminded him of...Him. His adoptive father, always playing word games and challenging him to read more and exist less in his imagination and more in the present, the way to deal with people. Treat life as a challenge, which was why he liked to retreat into his mind so much...He wasn't a fan of challenges.

Keebin gave a bright smile to Rampage, "That's why I'm here, too," She replied before turning her face back towards the night sky, proceeding to do what she said she would. The Hunting Dogs, she recognized. Who were captured by the Faerie King and held there until the Hunt began to purge the Faeries who lied. Hades' Fire, where he sent the disobedient for a day-that-felt-like-forever as a punishment. She let her mind loose, exploring constellation by constellation at random. Yes, she'd have to ask Zachariah to tell her the stories she forgot.

((I know almost nothing about astrology so I'm just creating some fictional ones, mixing it with random mythology.))

Mimicking her movement, he looked up at what was, to him, a mess of little lights in the sky. "Whatt're you looking at?" He had looked at the stars himself, of course, but decided that he much more liked the ground and what it had to offer, and so hadn't adventured too much in that direction. Swinging idly, he pondered what interest someone could have in a bunch of far-off dots that didn't even affect them, as far as he could tell.

((That's fine, new stuff is always fun to play with.))

Keebin was startled out of her reverie, thinking about Idin's Mistress, at what Rampage asked. Wasn't it a bit obvious? She fluffed her wings, trying to decide if there was any motive besides curiosity. She couldn't come up with any. "The sky and stars, of course," She responded, looking at him strangely. "And the wind patterns," She said, noticing the lack of any good strong ones for a hundred yards up. "Mostly the story of the stars, though," She decided.
