Halloween is coming up and I am stoked. I love baking treats and making themed foods.
I wanted to open a thread about this upcoming holiday. Talk about what you make, share some recipes or neat ideas!

I'll start.
I make cupcakes every year. I make chocolate cupcakes- sometimes homemade, sometimes from a box. I box it if I'm making 50 cupcakes or more...it's just easier that way for me.
Anyways, I bake batch after batch and let them cool. Then I decorate them. One year I frosted them all with chocolate buttercream and used fall colored sprinkles on them. I had orange little balls, orange and black sugar crystals, different colored leaf sprinkles...you name it, I had it.
Last year I made my cupcakes more Halloween themed. I made a batch of white frosting and then divvied it up into smaller batches- those I tinted green, purple, black, orange. Then I each cupcake I made different. One I made it look like a Honey Graham was broke in half, I put red gel frosting over his blody to look like blood. I made a Frankenstein cupcake with the green frosting, used black frosting for the hair and Smarties for the teeth. These cupcakes were rad, I wish I took pictures!
I also make sugar cookies. Last year I made the dough and then randomly added food coloring to different sections. Rolled them together and it looked awesome. The dough was all marbled (reminded me of the print on the old Kleenex boxes), all swirly and neat. I cut out shapes with a bat, ghost and witch hat cookie cutter.
So cupcakes and cookies- that's what I make the most. This year I'll probably do the same, unless I get some more creative ideas!

Oooh! What a delicious thread! I usually make sugar cookies for my friends for Halloween. They are shaped like pumpkins, bats, moon, etc...

I can't wait for Halloween. I plan on making a very special cake for...some sort of event this year. I have no idea what sort of event, but I want to make this cake. So I need some sort of reason to make it. But I'll probably make it...even without a reason.
BUT IT'S A SUPER AWESOME SECRET. >:3
Only...four people in the whole world aside from myself know what it is! :'D

i don't usually bake anything but i get some goodies for me & bf smile
we tend to visit each other during halloween, this year he's coming over to see me smile so i got a lovely wooden pumpkin (pot) filled with peanuts in shells! biggrin & it can be used for other things afterwards biggrin

even thow i'm kida old to trick or treat I just love all the candy!!!! + i have to take all the little kids in my famly so.....its still fun!
