Pain. All she could feel was pain.
Groaning, white eyelids fluttered as she glanced about at her surroundings. Her defenses immediately jumped up as she quickly recalled her last moments conscious. She and her own offspring had finally had it out upon the other... but where was the mare now? And why was Dia still alive?
She attempted to rise from the ground she was sprawled out across, and that's when the full intensity of her headache hit her, and she grunted in pain, forcing herself to continue up as she mentally battled the splitting pains racing across her forehead.
That's right.... that little b***h had kicked her right in the head. That's why her skull felt like it had a dozen two-leggers drumming in it.
Scowling, she finally managed to stand up on all fours, despite the odd wobbling it took to get her there. Where was everyone?

((YES, I CAN DO THE SAME HORSE TWO POSTS IN A ROW. I'M JUST THAT GOOD))
Still dazed, pink and purple curls bounced brushed gently against her slender neck as her head turned in every direction, searching for signs of life, signs of anything. Where were the three offspring, who had sprung such an attack on both her and Plague?
Plague.
Her glance darted towards the ground. Yards away lay the large motionless mutant, and Dia held her breath. Was he... was he truly dead?
Blood was pooling around his head, and his own rats had already begun to gather around his fallen body. She could only see from the angle she was standing at, so she assumed his head had been kicked in, and now the contents were slowly making their way out, a feast for the rodents.
"Pity," she said softly. She didn't know exactly how she should be feeling right now... it was something she hadn't seen coming. True, he had been injured terribly before by the skinwalker, but at least he had survived that. Had he not survived an attack sent by his own son?
Curious, she stepped forward and closer, ignoring the pain and thumping still beating around in her head.

He had been awake for a few minutes, but refused to budge from his spot. He had awoken to the sound of a nearby beast, and he didn't want to alert it of his awareness until the time was right.
Remaining quiet, Plague mentally went over his body, concentrating on the areas that hurt. His head was painful enough thanks to the b*****d's kick, but his shoulder hurt the worst. He wasn't even sure at this point if he could stand on it at all.
Steps drew closer, and Plague held his breath, ignoring the annoying nibbles his own foul creatures were showering him with. Should this creature have come to feast on his body... well, he would show that creature just how big of a mistake he had made.

Drawing closer, it became obvious that his innards had yet to empty themselves from his skull, or any other orifice of his body, for that matter. Dia scanned over him and looked on, studying his side for any signs of breathing.
She debated actually feeling for the steady beat of his heart, then opted to go an easier route. Pulling back one hot pink hoof, she sent it swinging in his direction and made a swift and hard connection between hoof and side.
That outta do it, she smirked, thinking to herself.

A sniff, he had expected. A bite even, or a muzzle close to his neck area, to inspect if he was truly dead or not. But a kick? Not a chance.
He let out a snarl and attempted to turn over on his side, the sharp pain going through his spine at an alarming rate. Hollow eyes caught the bright pink curls and white skin, and he practically shouted, "What the <********> was THAT for?!?!"

She grinned. So he wasn't dead after all. Surprise surprise... the b*****d still had enough strength in him yet.
"Just checking to see if you were, you know... dead," she said sweetly, leaning down to snatch one of the confused rodents with her jaws, her teeth crunching down on its bones as it screamed its last cry.
She stood there, continuing on with her snack, as recollections of the earlier fights replayed through her mind. Just why had their children left them alive, of all things?

It was hard enough to lift himself up with four legs, in the state he was currently suffering in, but three legs made it pure hell. After a few grunts and winces, the large being managed to stand himself up, his hurt leg lifted up and bent midair.
"I should tear your wings off for that little stunt," he growled, limping a step closer to where the mare stood, who seemed rather content on munching away at her meal.

"So do it!" She mocked him, swallowing the last bit of rat flesh, "I'd like to see you try, as pitiful as you look right now."
Her stomach lurched, and her throat threatened to return the food she had just devoured. Now what was THAT about?!
Taking a deep breath, she shook her head and pretended everything was fine. "Damn filly... my stomach must have grown more sensitive after some of those bruises she left." was all that she contributed to the conversation.

His eyes narrowed, the words his son last left him with never having disappeared from his thoughts.
"Either that... or the little monster inside of you have a strong distaste for rat meat."
He leaned down, a hard feat to accomplish only using three legs, but he managed. "Or should I say, monsterS, as you seem to be fat enough to be carrying quite a few."

She glared at him for an instance, and then rolled her eyes. "Ha. Ha. Your sense of humor never fails to annoy me."
She tossed her head back, sending her curls away from her eyes, the motion quickly reminding her of the fact that her skull still felt like it had been pierced through by a unicorn.
The mare gave an exasperated groan, not caring to hide the fact she was both irritable and very much still in pain. This was Plague she was dealing with... when was she not in one form or another in pain?
"So, are you going to tell me what exactly happened?" she finally snapped, her confusion evident, as she pushed aside his earlier comment about her weight. True, she had gained a few pounds, but it was no doubt caused by the fact she no longer got the same amount of exercise as she had been used to, before having to play silly nursemare and bring Plague back to health after his stupid skinwalker fight. There was no way in hell she was pregnant again. .... right?

He hesitated, thinking back. What exactly had she seen?
"What's there to know? The three you birthed decided to attack, and both of us fell into their obvious trap."
He snorted, and used one of his large wings to brush against his face, the matted blood covering his face beginning to itch and pester him.

"That I birthed?!" she snarled, stomping one striped hoof onto the ground in anger. "Had I gotten my way, those three would have been dead LONG ago. But no, YOU had to take them and raise them... raise them into THAT!"
She growled some more, and debated on attacking him right then and there. Oh, he made her so mad sometimes! But it'd be best to leave it be... both were weak and what would she do if the trio returned and she had wasted all her energy on mauling him?

"Well if you hadn't been such a stupid b***h and gotten pregnant in the first place, none of this would be either of our concerns." he grunted back, limping to where he faced her side.
"But what's done is done... now we just need to take care of these little bastards before they have time to grow up and betray us as well, and then we'll think up some way to take care of the others."

She gave him a look of disbelief, and quickly turned back around so she was facing him, head to head.
"What do you mean by take care of?" She hissed, her headache once again getting the best of her, "YOU were the one that ******** up with those three. I tried to do what was best, and you took them away, just to spite me."
