Never seen it...

does it have anything to do with the video game?

Neither have I. Tara Reid plays a scientist in the movie. That should give an indication on the film's quality.

It is supposed to, but from what I hear, a lot of stuff was changed around, and the movie's narrative hardly resembles the game's. Uwe Boll--to no one's surprise--made another stinking pile of s**t. How in the world did this man manage to find work (at a major film studio, no less) after he made House of the Dead--the worst horror film of 2003?

This guy seems to be on a crusade to both make the worst video game adaptations since Super Mario Brothers: The Movie (Uwe's next project is the raping of the Bloodrayne video game--which also does not sound anything like the game I never played.) and strip Edward D. Wood, Jr. of his "Worst Director of All Time" title.

He's finished BloodRayne, the trailer look horrible. I don't know much about his next project, except that it's got a huge cast, and it's got a $100 million $ budget.

From what I managed to gather way back when I first heard about the project, Bloodrayne has a bland, cliched plot that has nothing to do with the game, and he is pulling Michael Madsen's, that actress who played the Terminatrix in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines', and Ben Kingsley's (Yes, I said Ben Kingsley!) careers straight to hell.

And who in their right minds would want to give a man whose films receive an average rating of 3.3 (out of 10) by users at the Internet Movie Database $100 million to spend on a movie? For someone who as obviously built up a reputation for making total s**t, it honestly baffles me how some studio executive would trust Uwe Boll with a project which would be expected to make over twice its budget at the box office in order for it to be considered a success and make the moneymen at the studio happy.

I forgot Ben Kingsley was invloved. Uwe's first 2 movies have grossed a total of 17 million.

You mean his first two films in America to actually receive a wide theatrical release. Uwe's been making shitty films overseas long before House of the Dead

You know, I think I just found out who has been getting Uwe work in Hollywood. Taken straight from the Internet Movie Database; might want to read the point I have highlighted at the bottom of the page.

Far Cry (2006) (announced)
Fear Effect (2006) (announced)
Hunter: The Reckoning (2006) (announced)
Night Claws (2005) (announced)
Dungeon Siege (2006) (filming)
Bloodrayne (2005) (post-production)

His future films are ruining the gaming expirience. When he, oh and he will. When he makes more future game based films.... There will be a whole legion of websites telling him to stop making films... compared to how many there are now... will be what The Big Mac did for McDonalds.

Does anyone look to Uwe as a little inspiration though? Really, becuase, if you can make movies so shitty as those and still be making films AND have people know your name... You have to be crazy not to at least think to yourself... I can make movies. So... when I'm low and down when I think some of my films are s**t... I think to myself... "It was better than house of the dead." and smile.

The only inspiration I get from Uwe is the idea for a knock-off of Ed Wood (Comedy genuis; the only thing funnier than a cross-dresser with Bela Lugosi is a German guy who "argues that the awkward CG alien in Signs" to be a "strong moment in filmmaking history" with Ben Kingsley). Seriously, he's this generation's Edward D. Wood, Jr. The only difference is that Uwe is working on films with budgets greater than all of Wood's films combined.
