FrostBite was laying in the shade under a tree, it was a nice sunny day, one that could calm almost anyone. Her eyes were closed but she wasnt really asleep, she only slept when she was tired, and she wasnt very tired, just relaxed. FrostBite yawned and opened one eye, laying here was starting to get boring though. FrostBite started picking at the grass.

Adora was wandering around, with a kit clinging to her back. A while ago, her mother did tell her to meet with her if she had grandkkids... but how was she suppose to find her now?
Suddenly stumbling upon a blue glowy figure, she was surprised at how quickly she found Frostbite. Now the hard part was telling her the news.
"Hi mom...." Adora muttered.
Quidi continued clinging to his mother's back, in a half doze. He had no idea what was going on or what was going to happen.

FrostBite looked up, both eyes open now. "Oh! Hey, Adora!" She smiled then peered at what was on her back, she then leaned back again. She closed one eye and pretended to be thinking, "hmm... let me guess, you have... kids?" She opended her eye again, "remember what I told you about being straight-forward?" Her face didnt look upset, nor was it beaming.

Adora nodded, trying not to act nervous. "I remember. That's why I came to seek you out as soon as I could. You said to do that anyway."
Nudging the sleeping kit off of her back, she had a small smile on her face. "This is Quidi. I had two kits, and the other one is living with his father... I think he has a hearing problem."
Quidi was upset when he was forced off his mother's back and muttered gibberish. He crawled his way over to Adora's leg and clung more.

"Yeah, its not mush of a suprise when you hear it a second time," she then smiled again and walked over. I know Adora is the more responsible one, she's way more capable then someone else I know... She looked at the kit for a moment. She silently shifted over to his side and leaned over just so that her muzzle wasnt touching his ear. "Hello?!" She yelled before leaning back again and shifting back to her previous spot. "If he didnt hear that than he must be deaf..."

"A second time? You mean Farfalla had..." Adora didn't know whether to be happy for her sister or what. She did get acquainted to her, but she wondered if Farfalla was alright.
"I hope he isn't deaf, since I'll be wondering how to raise him if he won't ever hear his mother's voice."
Quidi continued napping and open one blue eye tenitively. Seeing another bigger Ulaya frightened him somewhat and he drew back his mouth in a snarl.

"Yeah," she nodded. She then looked back at the kid, whom was definetly deaf or very slow. The snarling didnt bother her much, it was kind of cute actually. "Tell him something, like its alright, go back to sleep, whatever. Observe his reaction, if he does one at all. And dont let him see that your talking, then he'll try and figure out what your saying and the test might be useless," she said in a tone low enough just for Adora to hear, imncase the kit wasnt deaf afterall.

Adora nodded, and said to Quidi in a soothing voice, "There's nothing to worry about. It's just your grandma. Go back to sleep now."
She felt funny calling Frostbite a grandmother. It wasn't long ago that she met her, and now she's a grandma along with being her mother.
Quidi didn't hear whatever his mother said, and continue to try to act bigger than he was. Feeling bold, he waddled over to the blue glowy Ulaya and nibbled on her tail.

"Yeah... I think he's deaf." FrostBite watched as he came over and started to nibble on her tail. She didnt really mind though since must of it was just fur. She gently patted his head and tried scooting him back to Adora. "Can he understand signals at least?"

"A really small amount... he knows that when I look upset that he shouldn't be doing something. And looking happy means something's right. And he knows that waving my foot like this is to come here." She demonstrated so, and the kit padded his way slowly towards her. "But life is still going to be difficult for him even if he knows the most advanced signals in the world. Not everyone is going to know that he's deaf, though that's easy to figure out."
Quidi nestled up againest Adora's belly and gnawed on the leg tuffs. He felt comfortable here, but he didn't like how they appear to be saying stuff. Probably about him.

FrostBite nodded, "well he's definetly not going to know who I am for a while..." She bit her lip, worried about what his future may be like as well, "he's still young so he can learn quickly. Come up with signals and try to teach him what they mean, and make sure he never wanders too far." She put her paw infront of her eyes and when she removed her paw her eyes were closed, after a moment she opened them again. "Like that would mean go to sleep."

"Wander off far? He already did that once. Took me hours to find him." Adora said with a nervous laugh. "But there is still some stuff that couldn't be explained through symbols... and I'm worried about that more."
Quidi stared at the other Ulaya, wondering what the heck was she doing. It looked like fun though, so he covered his eyes with his paws and closed them.

FrostBite thought for a moment, "like what kind of stuff?" Perhaps I have an idea... FrostBite hoped that they would be able to find someone that would be able to make the idea work though. "Family stuff or stay away from this and that stuff?"

"Well yes... that kind of stuff. Anything that would be hard to explain in words would be harder to explain in symbols." Adora wondered what Frostbite was thinking about, since she had that thoughtful look in her eyes.

"Er... well I was thinking..." She tilted her head to the side a bit, "that we find some smart Ulaya that can teach Quidi and you..." She tilted her head back to the other side, "how to read and write...!" She nodded, "I know it may seem impossible since Quidi is deaf and thats why I specified smart ulaya."
((I'm totally hinting Dreams of Knowledge!!! xD))
