A small shape dashed across the land, then almost crashing, stumbled into a den. Soo later, it'd wriggled back out, panting and exhausted. He'd ran for too long but.. Well, he'd wanted to distance hismelf from the graveyard. Fortunately, his den was very far from that, unfortunately, was he'd tried to run the whole way.
Of course, he couldn't have done the whole thing, and had stopped once or twice, but not for long. And he didn't even know if he'd ran past anything. Now he had a badly injured hind leg, the hyena had managed to scrape it, and he'd opened it a bit with running amid boned, then long distances. Now it throbbed rather painfully, but Iva knew this was his fault.
However, he'd succesfully beat the dare, and grabbed a bit of mane, which he'd just stashed in his den. However, he didn't quite want to clean his leg in there. Not enough space. He wanted effing air.
With a wheeze, Iva flopped onto his back, allowing his body to slowly relax.

Tahara had finally gotten around to finishing her task from days before, but now was a bit stuck waiting, and with no where to go. She'd been wandering a bit aimlessly for a little while now as a result. She hadn't expected to run into Iva, or, rather, for him to come running in her direction. He was a few yards away, but the fact that he was running had her approach. The scent of blood told her that he'd been injured recently, another encounter with a hawk? She'd only know if she checked it out.
"Hmm.... well now, Iva, you've been busy it looks like." The female quirked a brow, stopping at his side, bracing against the coppery smell of blood.

The hare relaxed, happy to be on the ground, so calm, relaxed. Safe--! However, his peace was disturbed again, and though the hare had just barely closed his eyes, blinked them open to look up at none other than the striper female hare-- Tahara.
"Huh? " He blinked a few times, then lazily brought himself up to his haunches, rubbing his head a bit. "Yea. Someone dared me ter get some 'yena mane. Well, ah did it! " He nodded proudly. "I stashed it.. Only she managed ter scratcch me foot. 'n I had ta run in some bones, so it got a bit.. worse. " Especially the distance from the bones to here! Don't forget that.

"You and your trophies. One of these days I imagine it'll be the death of you." Her head shook, and the female sighed as if exasperated. "And I could tell, you might want to think about cleaning that up before you draw some hungry beast or other after your trail."

Wait, did he think he was a.. a.. a.. kit, or summin?! He didn't need Tahara tellin' him what ter do with his wounds!
"Well, I was going to. " Iva said defensively, folding his ears back. "I just wanted ter catch me breath! Think its fun to run here alltheway from the graveyard? " he frowned, looking down at his foot. "And 'sides, their not trophies. Their more like.. collectible! Besides, its also ta prove what I can do. No one believes a hare can hunt a hawk. Ha! " He laughed out loud, crossing his arms proudly and sitting taller.

"Ohhhh right, right, of course, my apologies..."
Tahara rolled her eyes, moving around to his other side, smirking down at him in amusement.
"Then again... someone might just think you found all those 'collectibles' of yours lying around, rather than catching them on your own. So in the end, without a witness to atest to the fact, they would qualify as trophies."
Not that Tahara didn't believe. She'd seen it with her own eyes, and all, she just couldn't help but argue, she did so love a good verbal spar, and he made it so easy sometimes to instigate them.

"Oh, really? " He sneered, folding his ears back. Now that he thought about it, he'd never really showed Tahara the inside of his den. Perhaps.. If she saw it, she wouldn't say that. It was impossible to gather so many feathers from just -finding- them, right?! After all, birds didn't switch their flight feathers that often, and even then, they were quick to be carried off by the wind.
"Come here. " He said, then without another word, slipped into his den, pushing through it easily, then stepping to the side, next to his bed. The bed itself had that typical fur pulled off the hare itself, but much less than normal. It had a couple of ostrich feathers in it, and many, many down feathers, from various birds. No doubt, this was one soft bed.
The walls perhaps no longer looked like dirt walls at some extent of the den. They were lined closely with feathers, kind of like a wallpaper, only with real feathers, the tip of their stems tucked into the dirt, neatly arranged so the colors wouldn't look too oddly patched. of course, they couldn't cover the whole of the den, and it was only very feathery neat three back, were Iva slept(and safer from being dug up).
Admittedly, Iva wouldn't have arranged all this himself, to him, the feathers could have stayed in a corner(save for, of course, the down feathers), but there was a mouse he lived with, a tidy little creature known as Puku. He wasn't here right now, though. Busy scuffling around in the grass outside, looking for seeds.

It was with a light frown that she complied at all, easing forward onto all fours to follow him in fair strides. Upon entering the den she attempted to brace herself for what she was sure was going to be a surprising sight, but still couldn't stop her eyes from widening in shock.
"Gods, Iva, how long did it take for you to collect all of -these-??"
She didn't stop there, moving closer to the bed. For now she was too awed to feel anything else, but soon enough she'd feel defensive and stung at having her taunt thrown back at her like this. Anyone that saw this den would know without doubt that he'd indeed been doing just what he said he had for a long time, and not only that, but he was damned good at it. It was a wonder no one tried to steal this den for their own though, and oh, was she ever jealous! How often had she slept under rocks or bushes because of her rather busy lifestyle? Uuo was going to owe her so BIG for all this when it was said and done.

"Ah, y'know. Hawks hunt a lot. And sometimes parrots try 'n peck at me ter scare me off! " He grinned in amusement. He had very few colorful feathers, as most hunting birds had shades of brown, but he did have a few bright colors ones, and frankly, some where his pride and joy.
However, there was one feather that was a bit more.. special. However, he didn't feel like showing Tahara the feather he'd received from a female hare named Arcadia. She'd probably doubt it was from a goddess. Iva had once doubted it too.
"The ostrich ones I had ta find though. " Yeah. Those he'd admit-- they were too tall to grab. And the bird was too big and fast. and not ground-clumsy. Feathers of an ostrich were kind of ugly, too. But they were soft, perfect for bedding.

"... Well I guess I was.... wrong." She muttered, debating what to do, or say next.
......
"Well, since you're being so kind as to show a girl your collection, I don't suppose you'd mind if I took a quick rest here in exchange for helping you with that bleeding foot of yours?"
She didn't exactly wait for an answer, settling in to sit in the bed of down, watching Iva with a somewhat relaxed expression. She could've just left, but she hadn't had time to spend with another of her own in ages. For the longest time it had just been Uuo and her, and that was it.

Wait. What? Before Iva could protest, soon there was a striped female on his bed. He squeaked slightly in annoyance. "Heey! What're ya.. " He paused. Best not argue with her right now. Tahara was often in.. odd places. Well, to him, anyway.
"Fine. " He snorted, and moved over to a wall with feathers, glad to lean against it slightly, to lick his hind paw. "I gotta expand this place, though. " He said, matter-of-factly. Not that he ran out of space for feathers but.. Well, he was kind of pondering getting more folks to move in here. Not long ago, a pesky meerkat had attempted to move in, and it took Iva and Puku while to chase it off. While Puku usually den-sitted.. Well. He was a mouse. Didn't help much.

"Good, we have a deal then!" She perked, mood uplifted for the time being.
Moving from the bed again, rather reluctantly mind you, she brought herself over for a closer look.
"Planning on adding a few little jr's to the nest?"
It was just a tease, she thought, and he'd probably answer indignant or flustered, like he had the last time.

"Yeasure, whatever. "
His ears perked a bit late, though, as if he'd just registered the question after having answered it. "Saywhut? He quirked a brow, looking at Tahara slightly.. oddified. So odd he'd made up a word. Oddified.
"Uh.. No? " He said, as if it'd fix his first answer. "I jsut need some more folks ter... ter.. protect this place, cuz.. Um. Puku's no good fer protectin'. " He said, aware that Tahara didn't know who puku was but.. Hey, if she asked who he was, at least Iva could change the subject.

"Really? So the thought of kittens of your own has NEVER crossed your mind? ... Hmph." She smiled, a little too dismissively, not sure what brought that on as she honestly and genuinely had no intrest in the topic. A tease gone wrong, was she loosing her touch, or was he just too odd for her to keep up with? "Well I'd offer, moving in that is, but I'm afraid I'm too busy being that lionesses errand girl."
As it turned out she wasn't being much help with his paw at all, but if he didn't say anything she wouldn't. Instead, she busied herself with a look at his back to see how those scratches had come along.

"No. " He frowned. "Why, you want any? " He rolled his eyes. Why would anyone want kittens?! Frankly, Iva didn't get it. After all, when he'd still lived with his mum, he'd had too many little ones to handle till he finally moved out when he learned how to best hawks. They'd become rather unattractive option.
He busied himself with his foot again, glad for something to do. Let Tahara be odd.
