P R A C T I C E
Think you suck? Tired of relentless practicing and not learning much?
We'll you've come to the right place!
Here I will include easy to follow practices for improving finger strength
and memorizing important guitar notes, strings, and chords.
First of all, a short FAQ:
Q: How to read tabs?
A: Easy. Standard guitars come with 6 strings. From Top, string 6 (the really fat one)
E A D G B E
Now there
are two E strings. The biggest, string 6, and the smallest one, string 1.
The best way to remember this, I s**t you not:
Every -string 6
Acid
Dealer
Gets
Busted
Eventually -string 1
a tab would be represented like so:
E -------------------------------------
B -------------------------------------
G -------------------------------------
D -------------------------------------
A -------------------------------------
E -------------------------------------
Reading from top to bottom, string 1 to string 6.
Numbers on a tab represent which fret the note is on.
E-----------------------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------------------
G---------------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------
A----------------------------------------------------
E--0--3--5----0--3--6--5---0--3--5--3--0---------
The 0's mean holding a fret is not required, an ''open'' string.
By the way, that's Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple.
The most beginner song there is.
