Thalasso walked on through the thick green forest. He hadn't been able to explore the forest in quite some time. Tajas had kept him coped up when he was a cub. Now he was a grown adult, roaming the land that he was unable to go to. He hadn't seen any other grown other adults around, maybe he would get lucky today. He came across a small stream that ran through the forest. The water was clear and as blue as he's skin. He took a few sips as he was getting quite thirsty. He perked his ears up as he heard rustling. Some wild squirrels were playing around. This could be fun. He started to edge forward, crouching down so maybe he would get a better chance. When he thought he was close enough he bounded after the squirrel. He chased it until he ran up a tree, Thalasso almost running into it. He skidded to a spot as he looked up. The animal looked at him, somewhat mocking him. He took one finally jump at the creature, swiping at it. He wasn't going to climb a tree, he had a bad experience when he was a cub.

He made his way back to the stream. He wasn't out of energy but he was pretty thirsty again. He looked back at the creature, it had moved on and so should Thalasso. He walked to the edge, looking into the water. His reflection made him look weird. He growled at it and then laughed at himself. Thalasso brought his nose to the edge and started to take a few more laps of water.

A clean spotted coat stood out brightly in the tall green grass. Finally. Free from Chahuk's watchful eye. Mahala grinned, bouncing around childishly in the grass, chasing grasshoppers and butterflies. Catching one after another, she lined them all up, displaying her catch to all of the other animals nearby. She thought for a moment, her glory fading. Insects were too small for an animal such as herself.

Her ears swiveled around as she heard something in the grass. She stuck her head out of the foliage, trying to see what it was. A rustle. And another one. Quickly ducking back down, she snuck up to the other B'alam, catching a quick glance before backing up some. This would be her prey. Not to kill, of course, but she figured she'd prove herself a good hunter if she could at least get him to surrender to her. Nodding in approvement of her plan, she stalked him to the river, waiting for him to get a drink before pouncing on him. "Got you!"

Thalasso heard some rustling behind him, he really wasn't in the mood to chase anything else. He continued to take a drink as he heard in become louder. He quickly turned around as he heard a voice. He soon found himself face to face with another B'alam. He stood up from his crouched position and looked at her. "Were you trying to sneak up on me?" He asked, his voice calm as he waited for a reply. "I really wasn't expecting to find another B'alam out here so soon." He could tell that she was in a playful mode, well hopefully she was. He didn't want her to think that he was threat. His tail moved from side to side as he pondered on what to say next.

Mahala blinked as he spoke to her. "Uh..." Quickly, she scrambled into the grass again. What was she thinking? Shyly, she sat there. This was the only B'alam she had encountered and actually said something to besides Kaven, but he was her best friend, so she didn't think that counted. Silently, she stuck her head out from the tall grass to see if he was still there. Quickly ducking her head back in, she moved in hopes that he wouldn't find her, being as quiet as possible.

Thalasso watched as she hid behind the bushes. He looked side to side then back at the bushes. He moved closer to her hiding spot. "You don't have to be scared of me." He stopped at the edge of the bush, his eyes wandering as he tried to pick up on her white fur. It wasn't hard to find as it was contrasting to the green. "I'm not going to hurt you." He tried to peek in through the leaves, but was afraid of being batted at with a paw.

Mahala carefully stepped out from the bushes, her paws covered in mud. She smiled faintly at him while making her way to the water. As she washed off her white paws, she said only one word. "Mahala." Her voice was soft and sweet as she spoke. She waded into the water at the sight of a fish, hoping to catch her first meal since she was out alone.

Thalasso watched as she stepped into the water. He considered what Mahala meant. "If that is your name, then I guess I should mention mine. It's Thalasso, it means water." He looked at her as she was beautiful when the light hit the water, showing a reflection on her body. He walked to the edge, staring at her.

Mahala dove into the water, splashing Thalasso. When she emerged, a fish was struggling against the pressure of her strong jaw. She waded back to the land and dropped it on the ground before biting its head to kill it. "Nice to meet you, I guess." She smiled and took a satisfied bite from her catch before rolling it toward the male as an offering and shaking herself to try and rid herself of the water.

The now wet Thalasso stared up at Mahala. "What do you mean I guess." He shook himself, trying to get the water off of him. He looked at her as she offered the fish over to him. He took a little bite as he wasn't that hungry, he had caught one earlier. "You go ahead and eat the rest, I'm full at the moment. Plus, it is your catch, who says you'll catch one later." He said in a nice tone, he went over to the waters edge, lapping up to get the taste off his tongue. He looked at her and gave her a quick wink.

She shrugged. "It's just that I don't really meet many other B'alams..." With this, Mahala took another bite of the fish, her fur settling back into its usual appearance. Noticing the wink, she raised a brow, unsure as to what it meant. She didn't want to make a fuss, or cause confusion, so she ignored the urge to question it, her eyes fixed on the ground in front of her meal.

Thalasso walked over to her. "Well then, the same goes for me." He stopped a few feet away from her. "Usually my owner keeps me cooped up but now that I've grown I'm allowed to venture some more." He licked his paw as he clean his right ear a bit. He felt a little grubby now with lake water over him. He wasn't a clean freak but he did like to look pretty neat.

Mahala nodded. "I've just grown, so Chahuk's been pretty protective of me." She discarded the carcus of her meal in the woods before wading back into the clear water of the stream to rid herself from the smell of fish. Quietly drinking, she thought. Mostly about Kaven and the few others she had met when a cub. However, she got distracted by her reflection. Moreso, her eyes. She'd never really looked at her reflection before this, so she was surprised. Unable to look away, she splashed the top of the water to distract herself.

Thalasso watched her as she splashed her reflection. "Something bothering you." Thalasso had met some cubs when he was little, he remember Aka'an. "She must be pretty, now that's she's grown up" He said out loud. He didn't mean too say it but it just blurted out and he quickly shut up and looked away, maybe she wouldn't notice. "So... "

Mahala blinked and looked at Thalasso questioningly. "Who?" Getting out of the water, she focused on the ground. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to... I understand." Cautious not to step on anything, she made sure that she stepped onto the grass as opposed to the sand, which would get her paws dirty after she had just cleaned them. She wasn't a stickler for cleanliness, but she couldn't stand to get her precious white fur get dirty without cleaning it right away.

Thalasso looked up. "So you did hear me. I was talking about my friend that I haven't seen since I was a cub. Maybe you know her." Thalasso contemplated about telling her, he couldn't keep this secret to himself. "Her name is Aka'an, she's a gray and white cub. She's a little shy but I can't help but like her a little." He looked up at her. "I haven't seen her in awhile, and she's probably already found some other friends." He couldn't believe he was telling someone he just met his darkest secrets. "Is there anyone your looking at? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
