The cub was crawling on her belly through the tall grass that covered the pridelands. She was pretty well hidden, almost invisible with her brown fur that ran down her face and her back, however her tail stuck out above the grass giving her position away completely.
Luckily for her, she wasn't playing a game with her siblings. No, she was merely stalking a bug that had happened across her this morning. The poor thing, it constantly had to flee for it's life several times, then relaxing thinking it was safe only to be nearly killed only moments afterwards.
Ah a bugs life.

Timiza'upeo never ventured into the grassy areas of the Pride Lands, as both of his parents were extremely protective and they insisted on him being in full view at all times. As he hopped from rock to rock close to one of the many grassy areas, he breifly smiled back at his mother Malaika, who was watching from the family den. Lucky for Timi, his mother had gotten past the stage where she would have to stay within a few feet of him wherever he went.
When the golden cub finally settled on a large rock that sat just above the grass, he narrowed his deep purple eyes and started looking out for his all-time favourite insects; butterflies. It was whilst he was looking for butterflies that he spotted what looked like a furry brown snake, poking its head out of the grass. He soon realised though that it was a tail, which was about the same size as his own. Blinking, he wondered if he should say hello or not.

The brown and white cub had captured the poor grasshopper once again and had a very pleased grin upon her features. She stopped moving and opened her paws ever so slightly to peek at the struggling creature only for it to try and make and escape and for her to shut her paws so quickly she almost killed it.
A ring of giggles erupted from her maw as she finally released it to continue her stalking once again. The suddenly her attention was torn from the bug when the scent of lions filtered in. She wrinkled her nose and sniffed at the air again before peeking her head up out of the grass to see if she could see the one it belonged to.
Her yellow eyes scanned the area before landing on the cub. She lifted a paw and did a wave of sorts before calling out cheerfully. "Haaaaaaaaiiiii!"

Timiza'upeo was so surprised by the sudden greeting that he almost jumped, but he managed to stop himself from doing so. "Hi." He replied, smiling a little as he did so. The golden cub was very shy, and was unsure of what to say to the female cub. She looked about his age though, so he wasn't worried or anything like that, he simply didn't know how to start up a conversation.

Pleased with the fact she got a response from the other she bounded toward him completely throwing her stalking position away and came to stop not to far from him. She beamed up at him "Do you want to play?" She inquired with a slight tilt of her head.

Timiza'upeo blinked and looked back at his mother in the distance, who was smiling as she kept an eye on the pair. She had told him that playing with others his age was perfectly fine, but he was still rather unsure if he wanted to risk it. Having been completely mothered up until recently, he was finding it rather difficult to adjust to making his own decisions.
Eventually though, he decided he would like to play. Turning back to the female cub, he nodded tentatively. "Erm...what do you want to play?"

Tizona pursed her lips together as she pondered the multiple games that she knew how to play. "Well....it depends, what kind of game do you want to play?" She inquired with a grin. "There's games like; wrestling, hide'n'seek, tag, butterfly chasing, there's also racing too!" She exclaimed brightly flopping her butt against the ground.
She was going to wait for him to decide, after all it wouldn't be fair if she picked a game that he didn't like. She didn't care what game they played as long as they played one, after all she needed some playmates besides her five siblings. She loved them to pieces but a lot of time they didn't want to play her games, at least not Kusanagi, he acted all grown up and was boring.
At the thought of her brother she wrinkled her nose an shook her head before looking back over at the purple eyed boy with her yellow ones.

"Butterfly chasing?" Before Tizona could even finish, Timiza'upeo interupted, his tone of voice suggesting that he had no idea what butterfly chasing was. That was quite the opposite though, as finding butterflies and chasing them was his favourite thing to do. The reason he had questioned the female in that tone of voice was because he didn't know was that butterfly chasing was actually a game!
Feeling a bit better now about agreeing to play, he smiled. "I really like butterflies." He said, his voice returning to its usual state of shyness. Meanwhile, unknown to the golden cub, his mother had disappeared back into the den. She had decided that now was the time to allow her only son to do things on his own, and she was quite sure that he would be perfectly safe playing with the little brown cub.

The brown female nodded her head. "Butterfly Chasing!" She didn't question him on why he had asked her about but just affirmed that yes, they could do butterfly chasing. It'd be fun! She might actually catch that pesky flying bug. Just thinking about it made Tizona shiver with excitement.
"Butterflies are fun, elusive creatures!" She exclaimed with a furious nod. "Lets go find a butterfly to chase. She started to pad off before looking back. "Are you coming?"

Timiza'upeo nodded slowly before hopping down from the large rock that he was sat on. He now stood before the grassy area in which Tizona had originally been playing in, and it caused him to gulp. "Is it safe?" He called after the brown cub, unsure if he wanted to risk venturing into an area where everything around him was taller. After all, it was his own mother who had warned him about the dangers that can lurk in dark places and tall grasses.
The golden cub waited patiantly for Tizona to hopefully scan the area and confirm that it was OK to start looking for butterflies. He really wanted to play, but not at the risk of getting hurt.

Tizona was already deep within the grassy lands when she heard his voice. She peeked her head up, out of the grass to look at him grinning. "Of course it's safe silly!" She called back to him before nodding her head out into the open land. "Come on!" She told him waiting for him while sitting upon her hindlegs, occasionally standing to make sure he could see her. "Don't worry everything will be okay."

Timiza'upeo again gave a small, slow nod before tentatively making his way into the grass. As he creeped along, his purple eyes darted from left to right, looking for any signs of movement. He also kept peeking his head up over the grass so that he could spot where Tizona was.
"Wait for me there!" He called out as he got about halfway towards her. When he finally reached her, he smiled widely, happy that he had overcome one of his many fears. He was quite sure that he would be alright now, as long as he kept an eye out for anything suspicious. "Butterflies like to fly around flowers. Is there any flowers near here?" Saying that, the golden cub peeked his head up over the grass once more in an effort to spot some flowers or some butterflies.

Tizona nodded plopping herself down on her bottom as she waited for the young male to catch up with her. This was definitely a new experience for the female, she had never met someone so shy, so timid. It was still fun. "Flowers?" she repeated her interest perked again as he looked at him with a tilt of her head. "I know where some are." she told him before bounding off.
"Come on!" her voice was full of excitement and cheerfulness. She stopped not to far away, where he could see her to wait for him to catch up.

As the female bounded off, Timiza'upeo watched her carefully, just so he wouldn't lose sigh of her. When she came to a stop, he trotted after her, seemingly a lot more comfortable now that he was actually in the grass. It wasn't long before he was walking rather quickly, although he looked a tad silly with his head held high above the grass.
When he reached her, he looked around. "Where are the flowers?" Suddenly, he spotted a flash of orange in the corner of his eye. His swift walking had stirred the grasses, and now there was an orange butterfly fluttering almost right next to him. "First one to catch it wins!" Seemingly forgetting himself for that split second, Timiza'upeo jumped after the butterfly, a big smile on his face.

Tizona couldn't help but giggle as she scampered off. He was asking so many questions, it was like he never played in the grass before! How silly was that? Shaking her head she jumped up in the grass to be sure that he could see her. "Just follow me!" She called him him the bright smile never slipping from her features. It wasn't until he said something did the brown female see the butterfly. At his challenge excitement wiggled through her and she couldn't help but shake just a little bit. "You are so on!" She shouted to be sure he heard her.
Flattening herself in the grasses she kept her golden eyes trained upon the orange butterfly. Readying herself she sprang for the butterfly, unfortunately at the exact same times at Tmiza'upeo. When he came into her line of view her happy face dropped and was replaced by an 'oh s**t' kind of look as she muttered, "Uh-oh."
