Man I went to my final fantasy VII guild and man there was a bunch of people in there then I thought to myself why don't they know about Suikoden and why do they all like Fianl Fantasy over Suikoden and I was like ******** FINAL FANTASY IT ALL SUCK TO THE POWER OF SUIKODEN twisted
So then I would like to know who likes what better.
Final Fantasy lubbers are blind to the AWSOME POWER OF SUIKODEN.

I don't need Final Fantasy when I've got Suikoden. 3nodding
I've only played a little bit of two FFs. One was rented and the other was given to me as a gift.

Absolutely, FF Rocks when it comes to game designs, graphics and much more... BUT it is already so popular that Suikoden is like, ignored. However, imo, 2 of their most recent games are like "Oooh these are not so good games but since they're FFs, I'll play them like crazy!!". I'm pertaining to, FFVII Dirge of Cerberus and FFXII which both seemed 'sucked'. (They totally suck at Action-style games)

However, Suikoden's Plot is more of a substance. Its story sticks on the player's mind keeping them to be remembered more.

As for FFVII and it's remakes I do not like... as for the regular titles that I like somewhat it would be mainly from 7-11 (since I don't know much about 12.. at least i barely tip part of the storyline). As far as I know, I started with FF first(FF9 to be exact which is also my favorite FF) before I found about Suikoden III and decided to give it a try(and loved it). Lets just say I love both games... although FF is a series that has been going for quite a long long time... but like i said... I hate the FF7 remakes >.>.

Although for FFXI even if it is a MMORPG and quite an exception to all the other FF because the cutscenes are a huge plus compared to all the other FF cutscenes... and the bgm you get in the game really makes you want to listen to it(even though quite a few other area's have no sound but practically all city/town/village has them). Lets just say there is a extremely deep plot for 3 different nations in a game(kind of similar to suikoden III maybe thats why I love it so much heh) and you do need to get involved in your town, with other people, and so forth to get through the game although there are a few solo jobs out there..

To me lets just say Suikoden=Final Fantasy> WoW(omg brought this thing into it...)

I can't love both of them equally?

So... there are a bunch of people discussing Final Fantasy and NOT Suikoden in a Final Fantasy VII guild? Oh. My. GOD. SURELY YOU JEST.

If Konami would bother to spend a few thousand for advertising, then Suikoden would probably be much more popular. Because they won't, it isn't.
Very true but they're to lazy...

Suikoden has the better track record for me, but both seem to be sort of dying as we speak. The only FF games I really liked were 7 and 6 (Although I never finished 6 lol). Although Square's older mana games and Chrono Trigger were quite delicious and I did happily beat those smile

So stop complaining about the non-Suikoden discussion in a non-Suikoden guild and start complaining about Konami's marketing division.

I just remembered from all this that Suikoden II's launch was overshadowed by the gigantic monster behemoth thing that was FF IX's launch for the PSX. As for konami's marketing division, we've seen them give some publicity for Suikoden IV. . . I'll leave it at that. In anycase yes it's really Suikoden's lack of fame makes it more appealing doesn't it?

Suikoden started as a sleeper hit really. Back in the day nobody even heard of Suikoden.

Final Fantasy has been riding on its laurels of being a world famous series. Quite frankly after 7, everything went downhill.

I've always been a fan of lesser known titles by virtue of the fact that they usually turn out better, and less catered to mainstream morons.

I dunno... Clock Tower series was less known but by far inferior to the SH series. Record of Lodoss War, less known but not as good as Berserk. There are plenty of instances where less known games turn out worse or better than more mainstream stuff. But no matter what pretty much anything you can go to a local retailer and pick up is going to be dumbed down for the masses. Censorship is a beast that wraps it's tentacles around everything and squeezes as hard as it can.
