Taking a leisurely stroll throughout the forest, Kai had paused every once in awhile to glance at the trees scattered to various places. It appeared that the forest had many trees that were thriving.. Considering the healthy supply of sunlight and water, it had to be. It allowed a a soquili a lovely view of the landscape, that was untouched by the humans. "It's a beautiful forest." His remark sincere. It was unlike any forest he encountered, but it was lovelier than the rest.
As he traveled further into the forest, the sound of crinkling leaves beneath his hooves became consistent.. But the deeper he went, the more he was amazed. But the ends of his tail mane hovered dangerously over the dirt, leaves, and pebbles on the ground. Unfortunately, his tail was quite long, so it often got quite dirty if he wasn't careful. But aside from that, The sound of little critters scurrying here and there was comforting to hear, after the noise and excitement of a crowd. And it wasn't that Kai did not enjoy the peace..
"But it'd be a nice if I had a lovely companion for the night." He mused outloud, with a shake of his head. "It's such a lovely day too. Such a shame."

A grey flash weaved its way through the woods, undaunted by all of its surroundings. Upon closer inspection it seemed to be a stallion, well-built, a wild yet refined air about him that was conflicted yet smartly confined. It was a uni, and he galloped through like it was no other's business, streaked hair whipping freely in the wind, long, elegant tail waving behind off the ground like a slim banner.
And all at once, the stallion stopped, tail still hovering above the air, though now warily. He had sensed something, and his ice blue eyes tried hard to focus between each patch of trees. He sniffed and thought, It is a newcomer...
He placed a firm smile on his lips and it was like a sudden transformation; from a bold streak of lightning in the forest, he had turned into quite the gentleman many others saw him as. It wasn't that he had separate personalities, no, but he was a conformed child of the forest that he resided in for a major portion of his life. At once, he began a normal canter towards the presence he felt...
And he would welcome the newcomer to his forest, his home, and if for any reason it be a predator... they would of course fail to penetrate into his land.

Continuing to stroll through the forest, Kai welcomed the silence and the time it allowed him to simply reminisce about his life. "Hm, It's quite strange.. " Kai thought ... The forest was such a beautiful, and innocent place that allowed him to feel relaxed with his surroundings. It had been so long since he had encountered such a serene environment such as this one.. It brought back memories.. Back when he was only a foal, and his family was still happy, that was a precious memory that was long-ago forgotten.. and probably left best forgotten.
But the illusions quickly scattered as fast as it came, as his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of galloping hoof steps. With a small frown on his handsome profile, He contemplated the perpetrator of those footsteps.. "Strange.. I didn't think any other soquili would be here.." He was fairly sure that it wasn't another animal, because it couldn't have been any other animal besides a soquili judging from the sound of hoofsteps. Of course, he was being foolish in assuming that he would be alone. It was fairly common knowledge that soquilis were scattered everywhere along the continent..
His lips curved into a small smile, that clearly betrayed his amusement. Who would it be? It'd certainly be interesting, if he could find out.

He stopped as soon as he spotted the figure of a dazzling black and white stallion imprinted against the setting sun's colors. He looked truly lost in the woods by himself, but who knew? Perhaps he strolled into the forest often.
The wolf-colored stallion slowly closed in on the stranger, tail swaying behind in a hypnotic manner. Upon closer inspection, he let out a hail of "Welcome!" and noticed that the other male had the same type of hair as him. Well, no one with hair fixed by other's help could be bad!
As he settled himself a good distance from the other--though close enough to have a mild conversation, he inquired, "Have you lost yourself?"
He tilted his head humorously. Gazing at the stallion in front of him, he realized the stranger did look pretty strange in this atmosphere--he would've been better off somewhere in the snowy mountains or something.
"Well, for whatever reason you have traveled here, I am pleased that you have not caused any disturbances. The forest welcomes you as well."

Slightly startled by the sudden and strange intrusion, He found himself staring at the stranger that had emerged mysteriously. He hadn't heard or noticed the foot steps approaching and he hadn't sensed a creature's presence either. He didn't know what to think of the sudden intrusion, but as the 'creature' neared, He could conclude that the creature was very much a soquili.. or a stallion to be exact. One could not mistake the frame of a soquili, unless they were considerably blind.
Kai found himself staring at the strange stallion, assessing his appearance with his sharp emerald green eyes. Puzzled and slightly perplexed by the strange stallion, Kai could only deduce that this stallion was of another breed. Unlike Kai, This soquili had a horn that resembled a unicorn, and the tail wasn't a mane like Kai's own. but rather something else. His coloring was a mixture of white, tan, black and grey that matched perfection with the forest. At first, he was wary of the strange stallion, but the friendly behavior the stranger displayed, subdued him. With a friendly grin on his face, He whinnied back in reply. Had some god seen fit to grant his wish, or was it mere coincidence? Well.. Whatever. He didn't have to look far, if he wanted to find another soquili, it seemed. And this one was quite friendly.
"Did I look like I was lost?" He said with a smile that betrayed his amusement, with a touch of surprise in his voice. Did he look lost? He didn't consider himself lost.. He rather liked to believe that he was taking a stroll throughout the forest.. But than again, In a perspective, he could be lost, because he didn't know where he was going or heading.
"Alas I am not. And it doesn't seem like you are either. Can I safely assume this is your home?" His voice smooth, and casual.

The wolf stallion tilted his head uncomfortably as he sensed the stare lock onto his body. It wasn't like he was out of the ordinary at all, but he smiled politely and bowed as the other greeted him in return.
He dared the chance to take a few steps forward closer to the white-black stallion and answered: "If I may assume correctly, I have never seen you within the threshold of these woods, which leads me to the hopeful induction that you are so inclined to be a bit, since it cannot be phrased any better, lost."
His smile grew further as the stranger before him did not seem at all perturbed by his presence or words. Smiles, for the moment, seemed to be all too contagious.
"Pardon me for introducing the negative thought, then," he truthfully said after he was corrected. "But you are indeed right, fellow stallion; this is my birthplace, and I am Kalimirchi."
He paused shortly after giving his name, taking time to flip his mane back as he felt a brush of cool wind blow past him. The woods were also his family, having never known who his true parents were. The grace that nature brought to Kalimirchi had always comforted him, since he was born, and he hoped to share that with the stallion in front of him.
"You found a good time to come, the woods are in great spirits today," he stated firmly, "But was there anything in particular that brought you here?" Curiosity never seemed to betray his thoughts.

"Well.. If it would set your mind at ease.." Laughter twinkled in his eyes, before answering, "Than I am surely lost.. Since it's true that I have never been in this forest before." As he regarded the forest around him with a hint of curiousity. But he wandered as he pleased, coming and going whenever he felt like it.
"So.. Kalimirchi." Debating his thoughts and words carefully before asking the stallion anything. "Well, I suppose I should introduce myself too than. My name is Kai." He said in an nonchalant tone, his behavior affable. "Don't think there are any need for pardons.. But you say this is your birthplace? Isn't it dangerous in these woods?" He had never trusted the woods much, seeing as how many predators could be lurking about.. Even if the woods were truly a beautiful place, there would always be the down-side.
Intrigued by the stallion's behavior and his character, He had never found one to be so comfortable with nature.. or so it seemed. "I suppose it's possible that nature can take on an emotion of it's own.." He mused, murmuring his thoughts out loud. But he was caught off-guard by the unexpected question, "I suppose.. I'm here, because this is where I felt I wanted to go." His tone was questioning, but he could not fully explain the reason for why he was here.. other than the unexplainable urge to head in the direction of the woods.

Kalimirchi nodded, Kai's laughter turning on a jolly chord that made the stallion almost have to restrain his own laughter. He was pleased, watching Kai so interested in his home -- it made him wish to share many of the secrets he knew, and no doubt the stallion beside him would appreciate all of its splendors.
"Well, we are never lost in good company," Kalimirchi began to say, "we can say that, can't we, Kai?" He winked before settling into another curious stance, hesitating before answering Kai's concern. "Perhaps it would be in the best interest for us to take a walk while I answer to that," he stated with a smaller smile, yet still polite, now. His birthplace he wasn't so sure of in reality; but it was the first place his eyes had taken to, and definitely the place he grew up in, but what exactly would fit Kai's qualifications for a "birthplace"?
Kalimirchi began a slow walk around the trees, and he would go deeper into the forest--he feared not, for he knew his way, and he hoped Kai would feel safe with him as well. He gestured for Kai to follow him, and hoped the companion wouldn't be perturbed yet by their sudden journey.
"It is not dangerous if you accept it for what it is, Kai..." His explanation began calmly, letting Kai have time to comprehend his words. "You see, there are dangers such as predators, but protection is given if you seek it... Such as when I was very young..." He had trailed off, holding back his tongue for he had almost given away a part of his past to someone he had just met. He shook his head and caught himself, "That is to say, I found the woods to be extremely beneficial whenever I called upon it. What provides water to quench thirst, food to sustain appetite? Do those not come from nature?"
He chuckled as a thought hit him as well: "It is also possible that what made you feel like you wanted to go here was nature tugging at your very bones. Instincts, Kai."

Falling into step with the other stallion, The soft sound of hooves against the moist dirt and dry leaves were most quiet, but comforting. Kai found himself pleased to see that Kalimirichi did not take offense to any of his remarks. His friendly, yet open-minded disposition was refreshing. A smile spread across Kai's face, as his light emerald eyes darted from sights here and there.. Like he was trying to engrave the sights of the forest deep into his memory. He had no chance of knowing if he would ever come here again.
"I suppose that's true." He said, in answer to Kalimirchi's statement, enjoying the dialogue going on between the two stallions. "Well.. A walk would nice.." He hesitated, as he tried to find the words he was looking for, ".. Than wandering around lost~" He said, with a cheerful note to his tone.
As the other stallion gestured for him to follow, He gave the stallion a curious glance before trailing after him. He wasn't concerned about getting lost or the such because.. It was quite obvious that Kalimirchi knew these woods as well as one would know his own mind. Therefore, he could safely conclude that they would be safe and sound. It was a comforting thought.
"Protection.. If I seek it?" He said, with slight perplexity.. Slightly lowering his head to think for a moment. As they walked, Kai focused his gaze on the trees, plants, and animals scuttering by. He could not comprehend the idea, although he felt.. as if he wanted to, at the same time. He wanted to be able to understand why this stallion spoke of such things, and why. Kalimirchi's beliefs were so unorthodox of society's own.. But it would be worth understanding, Kai felt.
Puzzled by the chuckle, His attentions were turned towards Kalimirchi.. who introduced a very odd thought. "My instincts?.. Is that what it could be?"

The white stallion seemed so interested in taking in the forest's beauty that Kalimirchi could only offer a chuckle at the constant turning of heads and movement of eyes. Such willing spirits the world was offering these days!
A nod came for every one of Kai's puzzled inquiries. "If you know the terrain, you know your resources, so you will very well be adept at surviving in that sense, am I correct?" He smiled contentedly, closing his eyes as if in tranquil reflection. "But the woods are alive too, so if you care for it, it will provide you with whatever you need, be it protection, something to quell your hunger, or simply the pure sanctity of the place..." There was a brief pause in which he opened his eyes, locking gaze back on Kai, realizing that not everyone had the same level of comprehension and understanding as he. "I hope I am not throwing out too far-fetched notions to you?" he asked courteously.
"As for your instincts," Kalimirchi said with an added chuckle, "I was merely having a, how you say, wild guess. I jest, but if it suits you, then I implore you to forget what I just said, and go with that." He broke into a ringing laughter in the moment. Kai's impression was such an open, inquisitive one, the wolf stallion was so spirited by the short journey and felt a bit of desire to learn more about the other.
"Might I be so bold as to ask where you come from, Kai? Not from the woods, I presume surely," he stated jovially.

"If you mean, far fetched notions that even an idiot like myself can understand.. Than of course. " He joked, as he gave the other soquili a good-natured grin.
As he flickered a glance to the forest surrounding them. With a smile, he realized that that nature was indeed a valuable resource. Afterall, it provided everything for all living animals. Resources being a necessity. And with a smile, he came to a startling conclusion. The forest couldn't very well betray anyone. In a sense, it comforted him enough to know.
As he stopped to pause and take a break, He circled a tree warily. "By instinct.. Isn't it too dangerous to rely on wild guesses?" He had no interest in abandoning the discussion. Unlike other subjects, he found he was fascinated by what stories this other soquili told.
However, he was prepared for questions, and it wasn't to be unexpected. "Is it that obvious?" He said, chuckling. Naturally, it would be. "As you can tell.. I don't come from here. I actually come from a place that's filled.. with snow." As fond memories came rushing back to him.
But here he was thinking about snow in a forest. How ironic could this situation get? He thought to himself with a wry look upon his face.

"No, no, Kai!" Kalimirchi turned stern at once to scold the other for even joking negatively about himself. "Didn't mean to imply that you are of lesser intelligence or anything -- it has been hard finding anyone to relate to in these parts... I am quite glad I've found friends in a strange creature that walks on two legs, and a few others that took residence there. It wouldn't hurt to meet a few others like me, however."
As Kai stopped, Kalimirchi immediately noticed and tilted his head in question. He was about to follow the white stallion until he realized that Kai was merely making a full circle around a nearby tree. He chuckled at the silly antic and to the well-spoken remark, he answered, "Not if they lead you to the right path, dear Kai. There are many I know that get by on instincts and instincts alone. Do not judge or forsake it before you let yourself go to it, for it is the very primal of our behavior... It is what we had in the very beginning." He smiled as he continued the path for Kai, knowing very well that the other stallion would follow along.
"And snow, you say?" he repeated fondly as well. He found snow wonderful when it came, and had memorable times running through the soft substance. Unlike others, it did not phase him at all--he was at his element through any season of the year. "So, may I guess again--the mountains? It always seems to be cold like that up there, if I recall correctly from the last time I was near enough to perceive. And... may I also assume you have... family there?"
What a wonderful notion family was. Not to get the wolf stallion wrong, but he had never met his birth parents, and was raised by what he considered to truly be his guardian, which was apparent to Kai as well--his home.

"By a few others, Do you mean other unicorns? Or those who are also in tune with nature like yourself?" He inquired, flickering a glance towards the other stallion before reverting his eyes back to the surroundings around him. He had never met many of these other soquilis with horns or wings himself, but there were many rumors that supplied enough information for one to know about these breeds.
Once he had finished circling around the tree, "The very primal of our behavior you say? While I feel that you are correct, logic dictates to me that instincts are reckless things." He replied, with some doubt to his tone. He would like to believe what Kali believed but reality did not work in the same way. If he had really had any 'instincts', Where was it when she had died? The question left a bitter taste on his mouth, and a stony expression upon his face. But it quickly disappeared a second later, and he assumed an amused expression once more.
"I'd like to assume the mountains since I know no other place that gathers as much snow as the snow in my memories.." He remembered the countless times that he had become lost because of his white pelt that blended in nicely with the snow. At times it was advantageous and many other times, not.. It was a horrible yet funny experience as he looked back. But His thoughts were dashed away, when Kali spoke again.
"Not really." He admitted in answer to Kali's question. "If I ever had a person who was like family to me.. They're long gone now." He murmured before casually brushing away the subject. "What about you Kali? Any family here?"
