 HP-20 Kamau lays boredly on a low tree branch, hoping someone would come and battle him. He waved his tail around and gazed around the clearing. "Will one Eevee ever come?" he muttered to himself.

After a long while of waiting, a small figure finally wandered into the clearing. She was shadowed by a black, red-eyed dragon that trailed her constantly, a black spellbook hanging by a red ribbon from his jaws. The pink Eevee herself had been looking for a nice fun fight away from her normal pair of friends. Perhaps Licia's adventurous ways were finally rubbing off on her?
Allene looked up slowly, flinching slightly as she spotted another Eevee on a low branch. After calming down a little she sighed and gave a little smile. "Hello there," she said, wondering what the male could possibly be watching the ground for. She silently hoped that he, too, was looking for a battle...
She looked briefly to her dragon, ready to tell him to back away if this was the case. Fighting with her "items" wouldn't be fair, even if her opponent also possessed some of his own.(( Hello, Silver. ^^ Sorry for making you wait so long. The post action function isn't working here right now, I don't think... *wonders when Gaia will be fixing it* ))

Kamau flinched at hearing another Eevee after a long moment of silence. He looked down and saw a pretty female Eevee with items of her own. He gave a quick glance up at his spirit dogs floating around him, snarling and growling at everything. He looked back down, and gave the Eevee a welcoming smile. "Hi! I'm Kamau. You wouldn't mind having a quick battle, would you?" He beconed with his tail to the dogs to go away, and they turned tail up the tree. He had no other items besides a belt and a gold tiara-like crown on his head. He hopped down, landing perfectly on his feet.

"Not at all!" Allene said, a bit of excitement welling up in her chest. She whispered to the dragon to back away and he did so obediently, leaving Allene with nothing but her hovering neon 'wings.' Even the pair of glowing red eyes seemed to disappear as the creature hid in the shadows of the trees surrounding the pair of Eevees.
"My name is Allene. It's nice to meet you, Kamau." She smiled and waved her tail a few times, glancing at the other branches to be sure there were no others besides Kamau and herself. She had always been a jumpy one, and her friend Licia went so far as to call her paranoid once. Upon seeing that they were indeed alone, the pink female started to think on what was to come in this fight... This would be her first battle outside her territory and usual group, and she couldn't help but feel a tad nervous.
"Is this your first battle?" she asked out of pure curiousity as she wondered which of them would venture to throw out the first move.
((I saw an update that said they'd be fixing some forum glitches by Monday... Hopefully it'll be one of them. ^_^ No harm in letting Allene and Kamau get to know each other a bit before the battle starts, I guess. =3))

"Yes, it is." Kamau answered. "It's a pleasure to meet you, too." he added, holding back a blush. He wagged his tail a few times welcomingly, as he took another step forward cautiously, in case she attacked him first.
((yeah...it's still not working..... stare It is nice for them to get to know each-other more, as well!))

Allene continued to look up at the male, her paws baring into the ground in case he charged her. The same little smile stayed on her face throughout this awkward waiting.
"That is something we have in common, if one doesn't count occasional sparring with close friends," she said with a cheerful tone. "I hope that this will be exciting, don't you?" All while she talked, her mind was racing. 'Should I spring? Maybe... Maybe I should...'

Kamau cautiosly took steps around the female in a circle, ready to spring away if needed.
"Good luck." He said to her, feeling really stupid afterwards after listening to himself how it sounded.

"You, too," Allene said, almost unable to take the suspense any longer. She followed Kamau's circling with her eyes, wondering if it was really a good idea to be staying still right now...

Kamau slowed his steps down, cautiously eyeing Allene. She just stood still, watching his every move. Being his first battle, his steps became nervous efforts in trying to be on his guard. His tail stood up and twiched a little bit with his efforts.

Allene could stand it no longer. She lunged towards Kamau, her jaws opened wide for a Bite attack. For a split second she wondered why she was attacking this relative stranger, but she quickly wiped the thought from her mind, focusing on her attempt to make a hit.

A direct hit! Allene's fangs sunk into Kamau's shoulder fur and flesh alike, but she quickly tore away, careful not to pull out any flesh. She kept backing away as quickly as she could, her eyes on the fang marks she had just left behind. The pink Eevee was hoping that the wound had inflicted enough damage to matter. She didn't have any idea how tough Kamau was, after all...
((Ooh, a critical hit... o.o That does twice as much damage, right? *goes to check the rules*))

Kamau leaped backwards, stunned, when the teeth lunged out and let go of him. They were sharp, and they went pretty deep. A little bit of blood found it's way above his flesh, and he began to bleed slowly. From the shock of it, he felt weak and dizzy.
Regaining the feeling of his feet, he began to swiftly run at Allene, leaping around trees and bushes to get closer to her, and to be able to get her by surprise. As he closed in on her, he prepared to use the move Headbut on her.

With a misrable stumble, he crahsed into a bush, completely missing his target. Again, he flet slightly dizzy from the sudden fall, and he hurried to get up.

A relieved look briefly spread on her face, as she had been bracing herself for a hard-hitting attack. But once seeing the crash she gasped, close to asking Kamau if he was alright. But when she saw Kamau beginning to get to his paws again, she knew that she had to hurry and attack again before he got the chance to get a hit in.
Without another thought, Allene began to rush towards Kamau, becoming little more than a pink blur as she attempted to use Quick Attack on him.
