(Welcome to Ix and Rae's home. Feel free to drop by and knock on the door if Bulls and I are not in the middle of any RP, or anytime if you are adventurous enough to chance interrupting the exploding wonder and his grouchy little companion. ^_^;; )

(And this post has been claimed by Ix 8D for future expansion and inevitable explosions.)

"Man, how am I going to sneak THIS one past Rae?!"

Perhaps Ix really shouldn't have worked at a breeding center. It was a great place to test his area of study...but he had a bad habit of bringing things home with him. Things that potentially hatched into more annoyances for his roommate Rae. Not that Ix particularly minded the dragons, but it was so troublesome to break the news to the younger mage...

Egg hidden away in his bag, the musician threw open the door to his home and quickly strolled inside.

"I'm HOMEEEEEE Rae! And I totally promise I didn't bring ANYTHING home with meeee!"

Grinning to himself about how smooth he was, Ix quickly scooted in the direction of his room.

Unlike Ix, Raelan preferred to spend his days of study and research in the quiet and comfort of their home. Well, it was certainly quiet while Ix was out. But Raelan was convinced he would go prematurely deaf just from the echoing booms of routine explosions.

As his roommate came in and all but announced his guilt in a horribly loud voice, Raelan wasn't so sure going deaf would be that bad. He could have all the silence he wanted.

"Show it to me," Raelan said simply over his book.

He didn't move from his favorite chair in their cozy living room, it was unlikely Ix would make him get up and chase after him. Not after the last time he had brought something home.

"Do I haveeeee to?"

Despite being the elder of the two, Ix pouted heavily in Raelan's direction. It was only for a moment though, as excitement quickly won out over the despair at being caught.

"You'll like it! I swear!"

Stopping his flight to his room, the green haired wizard moved towards the living room. Once near his friend, Ix pulled his newest egg out of his bag.

"See? Look how nice it looks!"

Ix carefully held it out, showing the shiny blue, purple, and white egg to the other wizard.

Raelan didn't so much as blink as Ix brought his treasure over. Really, the little wizard hadn't expected it to be anything but a dragon egg. There was nothing else that would cause quite so much trouble, except perhaps volatile spell ingredients.

He closed his book to examine the egg, noting it's colours and lustre. It did look like it would grow into a fine specimen, but Raelan wasn't about to say that out loud and just give his roommate more excuse to keep bringing those things home.

"What affinity does this egg possess?" He asked, making sure to keep his tone towards the disapproving side of even.

"The breeder said it was most likely guidance!"

Eyes alight with excitement, Ix conveniently forgot the detail about one of his own dragons having helped create the new egg. Rae didn't need to know that.

"Pretty neat affinity, huh Rae? Betcha you want one too, riiiiight?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 09, 2007 6:35 pm

"As if I needed another little hellion running around the building." Raelan muttered, conveniently not mentioning his comments on the dragon's affinity. With any hope, it would guide Ix away from his dangerous love of destructive magic.

"Ix, if you let that dragon develop the habit of messing up my stuff, I swear this one will get thrown out the window the way the last one should have gone."

"You know, one of these days you're gonna say that Rae, and the dragon is going to have -wings-. THEN what are you gonna do?"

Ix smirked, carefully tucking the egg back into his bag.

"I can't help it if you put out this like..aura...that simply screams to have your things messed with."

Besides, if all his dragons were well behaved...things simply wouldn't be as interesting.

"If you ended up with a winged dragon, I would finally have an excuse to pull out that badminton racquet my great uncle gave me for my last birthday."

Raelan smirked, for once letting Ix know he was surely joking. But only as long as the dragon behaved itself. He had no problems at all with well behaved dragons, which was one of the reasons he got along so well with his own dragon. Even right now Valeo was quietly curled up inside his sleeping box, on the small pile of gems and shiny objects Raelan had rewarded him with over the time they had been together.

"Ix, I've told you before, you are simply imagining things."

"Oh come now Rae...you wouldn't really do that. Dragons would make for terrible badminton...."

Ix smirked back, watching his friend. Hey, at least the green haired one had -one- well behaved dragon. Estuary wasn't much trouble, and in fact usually helped out around the place. The cups of water might look silly, but they certainly helped when Pyre went into one of his sneezing fits. Dreamscape wasn't that bad of a dragon either...but Estuary was certainly the most well behaved.

"You can keep saying that Rae but it doesn't mean I'm ever gonna believe you."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 09, 2007 7:16 pm

"Oh, but Ix, the naughtiest dragons surely make for the best badminton. I will do what I must to keep my notes safe from pointless destruction, so I may as well make a game of it."

Raelan opened his book again, and pretended to go back to reading. He never really read while Ix was talking to him, but it was a charade worth keeping up just for the sake of it.

"See, that's your problem. You spend too much time imagining and not enough time listening to reason."

"You don't mindlessly bat me around with a badminton racquet, and I certainly destroy more of your things than any dragon I'll ever own."

Ix childishly stuck out his tongue at the other.

"Why listen to reason when it's often quite boring? Imagination often leads to the best discoveries."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 10, 2007 7:34 am

"No, but perhaps I shall be inclined to start if you persist. It is hardly mindless if I am aiming for the front door."

Raelan ignored his roommate's immature gesture and simply flipped a page in his unread book. At least the green haired young man could put up a decent argument, and the little wizard was sure he would have been horribly bright before all those explosions messed with his head. Not as bright as himself though.

"Reason is required for every logical act of judgment, perhaps if you gave it a good try for once you would see it's benefits."

Ix scoffed, not even bothering to reply to the badminton bit of the conversation.

"And perhaps if you abandoned reason for a brief amount of time and, instead, flew by the seat of your pants...you'd see why I'd much rather stay the way I am."

Conversation addressed, Ix went back to cooing over the egg in his bag.
