Dirt crunched under a red stallion's hooves in the patches of land where the grass had all but been grazed away. Arsenic was wandering around an area where many horses obviously congregated. But it was late in the afternoon and most had wandered back to their families, leaving him alone with nothing but his thoughts and the red-orange glow of the setting sun.
He had no family to return home to. He was searching for the only family member he had any chance of finding but had yet to even catch a glimpse of her. He'd come here in hopes of seeing her, perhaps she would have many friends and talked to them here, but luck was not on his side and his sister was not here. Would he never see her again? A part of him wanted to believe he would find her, but that part was miniscule compaired to the booming voice in his head telling him to give up and get on with his life.
With a soft sigh he lowered his head to graze softly on a small patch of grass. His black mane fell softly over his face as he chewed softly and flicked his tail. He could still hear her voice as if she were right next to him. There was no way he could give up on his search. He had to believe that tiny part of him. He had to...

Golden. That was the word on her tongue. The day was bright, the sun was shining, and it was just.. golden. It had taken her a few minutes to come up with something to describe it. But she finally had, and so her mind eased and she continued walkjing throught the heavy green grass. Her hooves trampled the plants and dirt that happened to get caught underneath her.
It had been what seemed like FOREVER since she'd last spoken to.. well.. anyone. She missed the company she at one time, always had. Her heart ached. Her mother was back in the herd, her father also there. Her sister gone with her mate, and her brother god knew where. She lacked friends, except of course, Cerek, with whom she was trying to concieve with.
Her sandy colored mane hit her neck as she stopped. Where to now?

Arsenic's icey blue gaze trailed across the empty lands as he grazed, ear flicking casually. It was rather lonely, this empty life he lead. He kept telling himself things would get better. They had to. He would find his sister, and then everything would just get so much better. Perhaps he would start a family of his own then. With a nice mare, and they'd have many foals. He snorted softly at the thought, amused. He was such a romantic.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of another's hooves. He lifted his head and turned slightly to look around. He almost didn't notice the sandy mare standing in the open. Curiously he trotted towards her a bit. Pleasant company, perhaps? That would certainly be nice.
He bowed his head a bit. "Good evening, Miss." His voice was soft and friendly, and could just barely be described as slightly louder than a whisper.

Her wanderings had been quiet, until the voice came. A soft, not even truly there voice. It was so soft, she at first took it to be a sign of a spirit or butterfly.
"Oh! Why hello there.." She said, her voice louder than his. She looked him over, and saw he was a very nice looking fellow. His crimson body and white rose shoulder marking were lovely, and his long mane just added to his beauty. She assumed he was a very lucky stallion, and he had many friends. Oh! Wasnt that just the rudest thought! She was judging someone friends by their appearance!
Shame shame..
"I didnt see you there."

Arsenic smiled at her. "I hardly noticed you, as well." He took a few more steps towards her. As he got closer it was obvious that he was smaller than most. "Everyone else has returned to their respective homes. It's nice to see someone else around."
He looked towards the sky a bit, seemingly thinking. "Oh!" He looked back to her. 'I completely forgot manners. I'm Arsenic."

"Most dont like to travel when the sun is starting to end. But,.. I find it refreshing.." She smiled, tossing her tail and keeping her eyes bright. She was always up for a little conversation, besides, it wasnt like she had PLANS or anything.
"Marahute.. Or Mara if you prefer."
She said, nodding.
"Arsenic.. is that a.. kind of poison?"
She had heard the two leggers speak of it once. They refered to it as death. But as soon asshe said that statement.. she regretted it. "Im sorry.. i forgot my manners most frequently."

Arsenic logged her name into his memory. "Nice to meet you, Mara." His icey orbs remained happy and he pawed the earth slightly.
"Yes, I'm pretty sure it is." He laughed a bit. "But I assure you that I am in no way a poison. Mother used to tell me that I couldn't harm a blade of grass if I tried." He grinned and flicked his ear. "It's alright. I'm surprised more haven't asked me about my name."

She cocked her head. Shewas always analyzing others names, basically because hers meant something, so she always assumed everyone else's did.. And her being the curious type, she always wanted to know the story.
"Please forgive me. Im usually not so forward." Wow. She felt like a foal all over again..
"Well, its good to know that I have met a kind stallion, Arsenic." She smiled.

Arsenic shook his head politely. "Don't worry about it." He was just happy to have company. Besides, it started a conversation right? "Does your name have a story behind it?"
He nodded at her compliment. "You're quite kind yourself, Mara."

She smiled and nodded. She loved the story, or at least, the one of which she was named.
"My fathers hawk, whom is his best friend and eyes of the sky is named Marahute. She is the golden eagle, and my father and mother saw me as golden."
She smiled.
"So what brings you out here?"

"That's wonderful." He thought over the story for a moment. How cool would it be to have a hawk?
Her question soon brought him out of his thoughts and he sighed. "That, I am afraid, does have a story to it." His ears fell back slightly. "I'm searching for my sister. She disappeared one day without a trace, and I miss her terribly. I came here in hopes to catch a glimpse of her, but sadly I've seen nothing."

"Oh! Thats awful!" Her face looked genuinely horrified. What would she do if Tsayuli just went missing? She'd die, thats what she'd do. She'd die. She shook her head, hoping to erase the thought from her memory. She wouldnt EVER think like that again.
"What happened?"
She asked, keeping a gaze on him and hoping like hell that she was okay.
"What was her name?"
She was aking too many questions.. and she was being rude.
"Im sorry." She said, lowering her head and blushing.

Arsenic nodded a bit, then shook his head. "I don't really remember. I know that one day she just sort of disappeared... I just woke up and she was gone. And I know that I went out to go looking for her but I don't remember much of the voyage until one point I woke up after a nightmare of her being a monster." He cringed a bit. "I think I may have suffered some sort of concussion, and that's why I can't remember. "
"Her name is Daveigh." The name rolled off his tongue lovingly, his sister had a beautiful name. "It means 'beloved'. We were really close when we got older. Always used to fight when we were young though." He chuckled a bit. Those fights were always so childish. They had a much better understanding of the world and eachother now.

"Well, do you need any help finding her Arsenic?"
She looked at him and cocked her head, trying to be there for him, even thoguh she really didnt know him too well. She stopped, snd glanced at him, thinking about him and his siters story.
"Daviegh." She whispered, letting the name flow from he mouth as well. Even though she hoped he hadnt heard her.

Arsenic looked towards the sky for a moment. "Thank you for your offer, but I think this is something I have to do along y'know?" He turned his attention back to her. "I sorta feel like... maybe this is a test of my strength." His eyes eyes seemed to be truly greatful. "I really do appreciate your offer though. It means a lot..."
