I love vampire romances. I think they are interesting, but is it just me or are they now becoming a cliche? It seems like vampire romances are all over the place. Comical, dark, light, etc. You pick up a book and there's some mention of vampires in most supernatural selections in the genre. Most of it's not really bringing anything new to the mix and I think that's a shame.
What vampire books do you love? What books do you hate?

There's nothing wrong with a man liking romance novels, in my opinion. But yes, I do think the undead aspect is a big fad with romance these days. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a good vampire story, but I think it is a bit overdone.Werewolves are better, anyway ninja

I'm not really that big on romance, really. I usually only read romance upon recommendation. I'll have to look out for them! 3nodding And thanks for adding another book to the list. Can never have too many on the "to read" list.

I really like the Anita Blake books. For some reason I could never get into the Anne Rice ones.
Unfortunately the Anne Rice type vampire cliche is rampant all over the romance genre - the dark, tortured handsome lonely vamp. It has been waaay played out!

I think vampires are in general becoming a cliche unto themselves. Werewolves, not so bad. But what I really haven't seen at all are ghosts. I've read one ghost romance (The Ghost and Lady Alice by Marion Chesney) which rocked my socks but that was the end of them for me. *crying like an emo*

Yes i agree they have been played out but I myself can never resiet a vampire novel with a poor tortured lonley vamp soul, but I admit sometimes there are athures who just destroy that cliche.(In the bad way.)and make me almost regret reading that book.
