Wiccan is a very wide term. It is closely related to the pagan religion of believing in magical entities. The terms for Wiccans are very loosely put some are very strict while others merely practice simple rituals, meditation is a good example that some, but not all Wiccans practice. Putting it bluntly the views of those who practice the wiccan or pagan religion, depending on how strict their rules, is the belief in unnatural occurences and magic, although some do not like to refer to it as magic.
- meditation, runes, tarot, crystal healing and such. These are a few things that either religion might include. So I guess it could be called more spiritual than magical beliefs.-
Religion is a rather vast and hard topic to describe, even by the people who practice it. Especially Wiccan and Neopaganism, for both have multiple books, papers, and terms that some use while others don't.

XmattXattackX lol so basically there a bunch of tree hugging people in cults?
Wiccan is a belief of mine and I am offend by what you have just said. Maybe instead of just taking the easy way out and asking others to explain it to you, you should look it up. Anyone with a brain can do it. But I am going to assume that you are too young to be blamed for your young and naive words and that you will hopefully grow from the knowledge that was presented from the others who have posted in response to your question.

XmattXattackX lol so basically there a bunch of tree hugging people in cults? I'm not Wiccan, but I want to slap you for that.
That would be like saying, "So basically Christians are a bunch of people who think some guy died on a tree?"
If you're going to ask a question about beliefs rather than looking them up yourself, don't comment so bluntly. There's something called tact, you know. I suggest you learn it.

Now now, either he's ignorant and doesn't know better, or he's purposefully trying to piss people off, and it's not worth being offended. In the event it was ignorance that made him say that, I will say this: Many users on Gaia consider themselves Wiccan for various reasons, and that encompasses a very wide range of beliefs. (nevermind that the average 'wiccan's' belief system is 'gimmee attention, i'm different!' That's a different story altogether.) So, if you say something offensive about it, be prepared for all Wiccans, wannabe Wiccans, anyone who has a liberal political agenda, open minded christians, my cat, and half of anyone who is left to be, well, offended.
Also, his description is accurate for some Wiccans, however inelegantly stated. So don't get too pissy too fast, mkay?
Edit: Also, that wiki link that was provided gives a somewhat bias and inaccurate account of Wiccans and what they are about. If I didn't know better, I would have drawn the same conclusions.
