I just got ahold of some nice tips from a computer guild I'm in. Here they are.

Parock
Did You Know That....

If you plug a headphone into the microphone slot you can talk into the left earpiece?

Saliva helps mend the scratches on a cd, and may make one work that wouldnt.

If you press the Prnt Scrn button on your keyboard it will save a picture of what was on your screen at that time, just go into paint and paste it to see it.

If the inside of your computer becomes overly dusty, it can malfunction (clean it with an air can)

If you have a dead battery on your laptop, and you put it in the freezer, and leave it there over night it can be good as new [only works with some batterys]

You can increase the volume of some sound files by right clicking on them, then go to record, then go to effects and click increase volume by 25% you can do this as much as you want but you will lose sound quality if you do it a lot.

If you hold Alt then hit Prnt Scrn, it will only take a screenshot of the window selected, rather than the screen itself. It is useful when grabbing small pics of a Message Box or something similar.

Older game being a b***h in Windows XP? Emulate it! Just right click on the .exe and then go to properties. Then click on the tab for "Compatiability" and set the OS to what you want. This rarely works for DOS programs, but is semi solid with normal progs.

I'm currently in the state of testing as many of these as I can but cannot test a few of them due to a lack of resources. Please post if some of these work for you guys and I'll edit the post.

Headphone/Microphone : "TEST RATING B-" It works, but it is very minor. You have to turn the microphone vollume all the way up on your computer and then put your mouth against it practically to hear yourself. But very simple.

Saliva Theory: "F" Theory does not work. A few people have tested this it seems to have no affect on how the game works.

Prt Scrn Theory: "A+" This is true, really simple and easy to use.

Dusty Malfunction: "A" This is true, but cleaning requires dissassemlbing computer.

Freeze Battery: "Labtop Untested" This works with regular batteries to an extent. If they normally lasted 10-12 hours, you can get another hour/two out of them. This works multiple times.

Increase Volume: "Untested"

Alt Prt Scrn: "A+" True, simple and easy.

Bitchy Games: "untested"

Was there multiple scratches or just one deep scratch? And where did you but it from?

They should have checked it before buying it and you should have returned it right away unless you were too busy or something. Plus next time buy from EB games or Gamestop

The good thing about Gamestop, I don't know if other places do this EBgames "might", I bought a game from Gamestop and realized it had a humongous scratch on it. The first disc of FF8. I went back and they said, "Oh no problem at all" and gave me another copy of disc1. All the others were in mint condition.

first I've tested the sound thing and it works but the quality can become very shitty after a few times. Secondly yo Lionheart no offense to you but unless your a collector you wasted your cash on that ff8. That is the one with squall if I'm not mistaken and take my advice its pretty shitty. Just the mere fact that any enemy can kill you at any time within the game no matter where you are makes me wanna smash the copy I had to replace for my ex.

*shrug* None taken. I play mainly RPG games and FF games are pretty much the main parts of my gaming collection (that is if you can call 10 games a collection).

Yeah you are right about that coming instant kill anywhere around the game, but from what I think, it's to keep you on guard. I mean you wouldn't want to be stuck somewhere with lvl 1 monsters. From what I found really irritating is the magic system. Draw..Draw..Draw...AHHHHHHH!!!! scream
