I have a problem, and I'm not certain if anyone else here has had it... I have no issues with writing anymore, thankfully, but I can't come up with any characters without feeling like they're flat, 2D, whatever you call a horrible character.

This is an issue because it'll kill my recent inspiration (see my journal if you really want to know about it), and because I just joined an RP for original characters..

Any ideas on how to break this?

Combine a person you know with some people you don't know and a guy you already made! Voila!

well, what aspects do you think are missing, why do you think they feel 2-D-ish as you're calling them. have you been descriptive? Or is it that you are not adding in enough details? Or could it be that these characters you're creating seems so much like previous characters that they seem dull and boring? I know it happens to me. So what I do is, I may keep a particular name, add some traits, such as happiness, b***h-like qualities, and them I'll change her looks and some of her other qualities that I didn't necissarily like from the past version, or change the character to fit the story.

It's more like I feel stale than anything else. Because I'll see someone with a cool character who, say, is autistic or something, and I'll go, "Why on earth haven't I tried writing a character like that?" Or one that's deaf, or one with certain powers... I guess it's more of a jealousy!block than anything else.

Thank you guys for your responses, by the way. I do appreciate it.
