Lo siento señor/a, pero sólo se habla inglés en esta sección. No hablo español, pero puedo transferirle a alguien que lo habla (si usted quere esperar).
More literally, this says:
Sorry sir/madam, but only English is spoken in this section. I don't speak Spanish, but I can transfer you to someone who speaks it (if you want to wait).
Two things - the literal translation of line (línea) doesn't really work to describe a line in a shop as far as I know, so I used section instead. Also, the part at the end in parentheses I don't really feel is all that necessary, but you can use it if you want.
I'm not the best Spanish speaker who ever lived, but I know that's good enough to make you understood.

Perdóneme, señor/señora, pero en esta línea solamente se habla inglés. Yo no hablo español, pero si me premitiría un momento, podré transferirle a alguien que sí lo hable.
But, it all depends on what you mean by line.
If you mean line as in telephone line, the above should work fine.
If you mean something else, tell me and I can give you the proper translation.

Oh, by the way: Is this Spanish that a Mexican would understand/ I don't want any embarrassing dialect-differences making me say "I'll stab you if you like" or something odd like that.

I live in Mexico, and this is how we would say that, so you're pretty safe.
