The ragged form slept in a deathly manner, seemingly dead, a body of bones and ragged skin, eye sockets sunken, mane and ears torn in places in raggedy tufts. Rather than ramaining in it's deathly sleep though the body moved and lifted itself fromt he ground the form taking in a long slow bone rattling breath. It was dawn and time to move on, his domain never stood still nor slept but occasionally it was quiet enough for him to rest through the night time hours to waken from a deathly slumbre where his dreams were haunted by the whispers of those falling in to his domain.

Every bone creaked and groaned as he slowly painfully clambered to his paws. At least it looked painful, the face and those stoney grey eyes made no change as he shifted to an upright possition. Ypright finally the bone thin frame seemed as if it must fall back in to the sands from whence it had come as it shuddered with the breath that garggled through his lips.

He spoke not a word to the day before him his head lolling as he took his first step towards the voices that called him. It was another day of duty as always for the god of famine.

Kenzi had been sleeping quite peacefully, snuggled up beside the bone body. She didn't mind what he looked like, as long as master continued to praise her for following closely behind his every move. Praise excited her the most, as her dog like mind always lept at the chance to make Master a happy thing. As he awoke from his slumber, the chatter of bones and body made her peer an eye open curiously. Had the Great Jaddis awaken already? It was nice to open onces eyes to the one they were obedient to. She too, stood up, following the orange god's lead. Shaking her soft, gentle fur, she lightly wagged her long tail. Excitement grew in the heart of the young Goddess.

She padded lightly up to the black-eyed God, The Famine Lord. Kenzi sat beside him, a smile on her maw. "Good morning, my Master Jaddis. How did sleep treat you? It made me feel quite regenerated!" She happily spoke, a jumpy rasp in her voice.

The shakey figure paused midstep to look upon his 'servant' his stoney eyes acctually watching her, this wasn't something that the ragged body did very often, he had long since distanced his mind from the bones and sinnew of his body, so that the carcass that walked barely ever reacted to the voice that spoke in it's hauntingly dissjointed manner. "You are awake.." The voice whispered once again those eyes curious as to why the female continued to follow him like a dog. Heknew full well that she was obedience but she was more a creature of life than a creature of death like himself. Letting a rattling breath shake his body he started to walk, each step seemingly more painful than the last. "Just as well."

His tail dragged the ground as he padded onwards his head low, his long raggedy mane almost touching the ground his head dangled so lifelessly. "I sleep as well as any thing Kenzi" Again the question arose in his mind why hedidn't just tell her to leave, he had no need for a servant in his wanderings. Perhaps something from the past made him wish for her to follow him, to walk beside him. Once upon a time he had had companions, in the days when things were different, darker than now, perhaps he did acctually desire a companion? He had stalked the earth for long enough alone, he supposed, perhaps it was time to attempt a partnership. But with obedience? A stranger companion he decided he could not have picked.

"I'm glad to hear you slept well, Jaddis." She nodded, gently rubbing her fur against his cold, bony body. His side felt warm to her, and she didn't know why, but it was a great feeling. Then she looked up into his stone-cold eyes, still smiling warmly with every moment. Why not be excited? She had nothing in the world to be sad about, as long as Lord Jaddis was content and happy with her company. She paused her tail, and then stood up with a leap.

"So, what are your plans for today, Master? Shall we seek the Famine in the rouge world once again?" She never minded his duty, and honestly, just following him around made her happy. Maybe it was simply because she was acting as her domain was.

The bony gods brow creased, the face acctually looked confused which was a hard thing for soemthign with so little mucle in it to constrict and turn the face in to an acctual expression. "We go where my paws take me Kenzi, you know that." The face once again fell into expressionless guise as he took another step forwards.

"Kenzi, you baffle me." The odd voice which never truely came from the body of the famine god echoed in her ears and acctually for once, sounded confused. "Despite what you have seen you still follow, my servant, even after what has been done, you still follow, obedient. I know your domain, do you follow me of your own accord though Kenzi? Or because you think you must?" Why he had to ask this question he was unsure. Perhaps he even desired a friend on his journey. Kenzi beleived herself his servant though he asked nothing of her, truthfully he needed nothing to sustain the immortal body of bone and sinnew. The mind though that had travelled through time and accross distances unknown, desired a friend? Is that why he did not tell Kenzi to leave and find herself another master? He had not been this purturbed for centuries..

"I suppose I do know ... but, its nice to ask every now and then, right, Jaddis?" She bounded towards him, smiling wider. "Why does the sights of famine give you the idea that I would want to leave you? I enjoy the company, and ... anyways ... your my master. I must follow your lead, no matter where you go, no matter what you do. Even though I must follow you, a part of me really ... likes it. A lot." She closed her eyes and tilted his head down towards the ground.

"I really like you, not matter how you look, no matter how cold your body is, what you do. Those things do not matter to me."

The god of starvation listened to her words intently though his body did not react to her words. He managed to take one of those body shattering breaths as he struggled along, making his slow, endless way towards his next task. There was silence for a long time, he could think of no more to ask of the happily playful goddess, but he certainly gave him alot to think about.

Certainly the god of famine understood what Kenzi felt and perhaps, some time in the past he had even embraced the feelings of which she spoke to him. Now though, now after centuries of distancing himself from his body, he could most certainly not return the feeling she had for him. He had no way to.

He let out that loose raggedy breath to break the silence "That is good Kenzi." He did not know what else to say to her, should he attempt to pervey a feeling which he did not have to please his little companion? He did not know so continued his silence letting the thoughts roam his mind freely.

She nodded. "I promise, Jaddis. I would never go against you, or lie to you, for that matter." She flicked her tail in his direction, as she stood up and awaited orders from the male. She couldn't wait to travel the lands. Even though his bidding was not so wonderful, she still wanted to stay by his side. It was just her obedient nature, taking control of her. She still had feelings for Jaddis, though. There was just something about his quiet nature that she really liked. It also meant they didn't have to argue all the time, or other ridiculous things. Silence was a good thing every now and then, right?

She extended her wings and looked towards the horizon, watching the sun with her brown eyes. Her blue wings beated lightly, making a slight burst of wind.

Pale ghostly eyes looked over the smaller female and he shook his head, it was very unusual for the body to react, it had long ago become a different entity from the skelinton like body of the god. "I do not understand." His voice echoed in her ears suddenly. "I cannot fel for you Kenzi, you must know that by now." His sallow furred head shook as if it must dislodge from the neck and shoulders.

"Do you not wish to lead your own life? The servent to noone but yourself? Did the fates bring you to me? They have never brasught me a companion before, I cannot feel for others. You must see this so why do you follow me?" He let out a slow breath then, these were questions his aged mind needed to ask. He had never asked for a companion and the fates had never provided him with one so why was it then that this little goddess had chosen him, him of all entities to follow.

"Yes Jaddis, but ... I can see what others cannot. Though you cannot express yourself to a full extent, I just know you were the right choice. No, I did not come by your side on my own originally, that was just my domain calling out to me, telling me of a great opportunity, the ability to finally go one on one with another God. But, after all the time i've spent with you, i've realized that even with an emotionless face and body, obedience does not matter. Even if you forced me to leave right now, I would ... not be harmed. I really cannot help why the greater gods have given me this confusing domain, but I can't change what I am. I am simply here because this is what my calling was. Though, i'm now following you on my own accord, because I honestly enjoy your company. Before I met up with you, I was quite lonely."

She looked to the ground, sighing. Did Jaddis really think that she was not telling the truth. "The fates brought us together, and the fates will keep us together until the dawn of time."

The ragged god let out a breath, it was slow, forced and it certainly did not shake his form as it usually did. "Then follow me Kenziyour companionshipo is appreciated." His bone thin head nodded then as he padded onwards, his grey stoney eyes lifeless dead. He could not tell kenzi of anything he felt, if infact he did feel anything. To do so would cause him great pain and perhaps even tip the bone thin body in to death. He did not want that. Far from it he liked to live. He could admit that. His exsitance though unusual did not make him unhappy and certainly Kenzi's presence did not upset him either.

The words though cold and calculating were certainly true and his ears flickered as she spoke. "The fates, yes, they weave us an unusual path Kenzi, one which I doubt either of us could possibly have forseen." A small uneartthly laughter echoed then, that dissembodied voice always directly going in to her ears. "Perhaps I will understand them one day."

"I'm glad its appreciated, Jaddis." She nodded, and then padded forward as she followed the ragged body. She seemed rather content with it all. There was really nothing wrong with the god, despite what he looked like. She simply took him for what he was and asked nothing more of him. Simply his presence was enough, for now. Kenzi simply beated her wings rapidly as she caught up with the male.

"The fates can be a strange thing, master. Though, even through all of it, i'm kind of glad that I was given the chance to meet you. I never even expected for this to occur, me following you around the lands." She nodded with his laugh. "Yes, someday you'll comprehend the ways the divine powers work between one another, right?" She wagged her tail contently, and then fluttered into the sky, awaiting the God of Famine.

The shakey god looked up as kenzi alighted. He didn't fly much, if at all, infact he could not remember the last time he had flown. He had no need to fly his battered wings proof of that, though he could obviously fly without them, usually gods with full wings flew. Batting his tattered wings once he continued to walk. He did not wish to fly it wans't something he did.

"In the centuries I have walked this earth, I have never yet understood them, it is perhaps then that I am not supposed to. I simply follow the path that is chosen for me. If you are a part of that path I can but appreciate your company until you find a different way." He walked on silently then, his skull like head lolling. "You remind me of a butterfly flittering like that." His lauigh again then whispering in her ears, to compare the puppy like goddess to a butterfly, he was certainly getting very used to having the little goddess around.

"I try to follow the path that is given to me, but ... sometimes I stray from my fates. Its also good to go wild and crazy and have all the fun in the world, as well!" She continued to beat her wings carefully as she soared through the skies, her blue wings reflecting the sun's light. As Jaddis mentioned butterflies, she hovered back down to him with a grin on her maw.

"Thats cute, a butterfly, eh?" She flittered around more playfully, she was full of energy!

Jaddis' laughter echoed quietly in her ears as for once the body reacted with his words andnodded. "Yes, though I would say that butterflies are far more neusance than most other bugs, they could I suppose be described as 'cute' as you say." He took a heavy step then paused to look at her flittering about. She was always so full of energy, it sort of granted him a little of his own though not enought o make him move any faster.

"You're certainly as flighty as a butterfly."
