On the corner of a cobbled road sits a quiet little gallery. The windows are full of portaits and paintings depicting the citizens and sights of Gaia. Upon entering, the customer is greeted by bright colors, upbeat music, odds and ends, and a curious looking woman sitting by the counter. Most likely, she's sipping soy latte or doodling in a small sketchbook. You walk up to her, and she looks up at you with a quiet smile...

"Welcome to the Port Gino Gallery."

She gestures to the walls, on which her work hangs. There are so many paintings, some of them don't have room, so they're stacked in bins or simply leaning against the wall. In the back of the studio is a small staircase, but it has a rope across it. Perhaps it would be wise to stay on the first floor? When you turn back around, you find that the pricing chart is hung amidst the art, painted directly onto the wall. How about a look?

Portrait One: The biological family

Five people in this portrait- myself, Orasteele, my son Aoshi, her cousin Synge, and our baby boy, Ransom. Please see the enclosed pictures for assistance; I shall get a description of Synge for you from Steele ASAP, since I don't have any pictures of him yet.

Notes for this picture: Brit is 5'1", Steele is 5'4"- the boys are quite a bit taller. Aoshi is very romantic, a pretty boy and proud of it, and about 23- check the family post of the nursery for his picture. A larger version of the same can be found at our home here in Port Gino. He has blackbird's wings, and Steele has elven ears.

Portrait Two: The eldest adoptees

This portrait is of four- kind of. The family members included are Ladanya, Cypris, Lilka, and Cypris' fandangle, Ailes Argent- I don't know what your opinion is of floating, plate-sized gears. Lada is the oldest of this batch, a teenager; Cypris is transitioning into childhood, and Lilka is a toddler.

Notes: Cypris can be found here. He is a bit older than this picture shows, since he has completed his child quest. He usually wears nice clothing and a top hat- vital to his picture is a silver cross pendant. Ailes can be found here.

Portrait Three: The youngest adoptees

There are three in this picture- another kinda, as one of them is an egg! The children involved are Freidrick, who's just a little older than a baby, Liotti who appears around 15-17, and Steele's CKY Eggu. Lio would most likely end up holding the Eggu, as he's fond of it.

Notes: Lio isn't fond of bright light. The eggu has developed a fondness for hats. Frei ADORES sparkly things and flowers.

Portrait Four: THE CHALLENGE!!

Now, the question is...can you get all of them in ONE picture?

Faevan busied herself about the shop, straightening a few wall hangings and sweeping the floor, but ther was only so much you could do to a place when it was already immaculately clean. With a sigh, she moved the rope across the stairway aside and meandered up the staircase to her second floor studio.
Ironically, the only room in the building that needed cleaning was the only one she had no desire to clean. Stacks of sketch paper were piled around the room. Sheets plopped on a big oversized chair in another corner. There were a few drafting tables, and even a sewing machine in another section of the room. And of course, pencils and papers everywhere. The one organized place was lit by a soft blue light. A small laptop computer rested itself on a folding table, a painting program open. Faevan lifted the stylus half heartedly for a moment before replacing it. She didn't seem to have the heart to create anything.

"Maybe this was a bad idea?" She said aloud, wondering if anyone in Port Gino would ever have need of her services. Should I just return to Durem?

"You know, you really ought to ask for directions once in a while! A person can only be so stubborn.."

"Oh, hush up! I'll ask, I'll ask! You happy now?"

In from the snow dusted streets enter the pair of quarrelling siblings. One would never guess their relation, and it was less likely that they know about their twinship. The taller of the two, a lime haired fellow whose suit made the snow blend in, pushes through the door ahead of a shorter, blonde girl dressed in blue and white.

Getting past their shivers, the two turn in opposite directions to poke around. Their reason for arriving at the shop obviously slipping their minds, an identical passion for artwork shoves in to take its place.

"Ohh," gasps Phoenix, adjusting her beanie down over her ears. "Take a look at this one!"

Across the shop and already eying another piece, Pippin grins widely. " 'ey, these really aren't that bad!" Straightening up, he joins his sister's side; it didn't feel all that right to poke around without the shop owner keeping watch. With his luck, he's probably knock into something and break it.. and with their budget, further strained due to Christmas, there isn't anything to spare for a "You broke it, you bought it!" policy.

Phoenix rubs her frost-bitten hands together to bring them back to life. "You think they do portraits? We haven't had anything done of us in a while.."

Pippin snorts at this remark. A picture? And, more money spending? He raises his hands in protest. "Nuh uh, we can't just go spendin' 'way on those things.. 'Sides, we got one done uh.. a month.. or was it two?.. ago. Nothing's changed much."

Sighing softly, Phoenix puts her hands on her hips. "Oh, you just like to ruin all my fun, don't you?" Shaking her head, she dismisses him with one of her own hand motions. "You can go on ahead and do some 'budgetted holiday shopping' yourself, mister. I'm going to stay around a while."

Shrugging her off, he goes over in his head the primative understanding he has of girls while leaving out the way he came. Alone now, Phoenix continues to browse.. Guys are pains, she concludes silently. It's just a painting.. And I haven't gotten him a gift yet..

[Sorry for the length.. XD; I just wanted to give you a feel of their oh-so-loving relationship. XD]

"Hello?" A quiet voice called from the stairs. Faevan descended, looking at her partons with a warm smile. "Welcome. What can I do for you today?"

Although caught off her guard, Phoenix manages to whirl around without knocking anything over. Tipping her beanie down past her eyebrows, she smiles widely.

"Are you the artist here?" she bubbles, taking a few steps away from where she was previously viewing artwork. "Very lovely collection of work, indeed..!"

"Thank you." Faevan flushed slightly. "I apologize, most of it is a bit old, though, And I have no work of this lovely town yet." She explained, gesturing to the city scapes before her. "I grew up in Durem, so I only had the city to learn from." Remembering herself, she held out her hand at the woman. "I'm Faevan, a pleasure to meet you." Her smile widened a bit, and she took off her sunglasses to get a better look at her customers.

Running late for work (which she shouldn't be going to yet ANYWAYS), Brit checked her watch and slipped a large manila envelope under the door of the gallery. Not enough time to stop and talk to the artist...she hoped the contact information included in the envelope would be enough to get the ball rolling.

The note inside reads:

Dear Faevan:

We've finally gotten moved in! I was so excited to see your shop when we passed by a few days ago- do you have time to handle several commissions for us? I understand it's a very long list, so please feel free to turn us down or put us off as long as you need.

Phoenix grins in her reply, shaking the offered hand. "The name's Phoenix, great to meet you too! I came here with my brother, but he's already buggered off," she says with a quick eyeroll. He's most likely off .. chasing squirrels or something, for stealing his limes.

"I've never been to the city, myself. It's such a busy place, isn't it? Out here, people can really take their time to just enjoy things.." A contemplative look wipes over her face for a brief moment, but nothing more than that. Her bright silver eyes tear away from the artwork once again.

Brushing back hairs that escaped her beanie, she smiles gently and leans her thumbs in her pockets. "Do you take commissioned work, by any luck? I thought I'd throw that out there, 'case there's any way I could get something done. Portraits are a rarity in a family such as mine. If you can get at least four to sit still, heck, it's a good day!"

Faevan smiled at Phoenix, laughing a bit.

"Yes, we do comissions. And i can work froma photograph is sitting is a problem. I usually like to make a day of it for my customers though. I order in a lunch and get to know them. But whatever works for you." She looked away, noticing an envelope sliding under the door. "Odd...excuse me please." She got to the door too late, and couldn't see anyone out on the sidewalk. "Oh, well. Sorry about that." She placed the envelope on her desk. "I'll get to that later. Where were we?" She adjusted her glasses, looking at Phoenix through the red lenses.
