Have you nottised that most music videos by men have women with big chests, and in skimpy little clothing dancing around ?
also in eminiem's video " a** like that" the messgae he seems to put out is all he cares about is the womans body. not how she acts. i hate when men well when anybody, cares olny about his or her appernce and not what the person's personality is.

THis is the reasonthat I really do not listen to rap or hip hop. i really don't like how the artit's degrade women by having them in skimpy clothing and just talking about sex. Now granted, not all hip hop and rap is like that. There are a few songs not like tht at all. I alos lnow that other music genres sing of the same thing, but I mostly hear it in rap. It is disgusting so I don't listen to the song or watch the music videos.

ugh. i hate most rap music videos. they all have the same stupid image of what women should look like. its so sickening and i am surprised the girls are not ashamed for being in the videos ESPECIALLY since they're just in it for sex, money, and fame/publicity.

i don't say "zomg i hate rap!!!" because not all rap is like that. peaches, gravy train!!!!, even some more mainstream stuff like [most] kanye west isn't about degrading women. i enjoy a lot of rap.
however, i think we definitely need to do something about the image of women projected in these videos. i want a shirt that says "PLEASE OBJECTIFY ME" or something along those lines, because that's what those women seem to be screaming. they're simply promoting the mindset that women are nothing more than sex objects.

Hear, Hear. That shirt sounds like a great idea to get the word out. The people in this forum are already one step ahead of most teenagers. Our peers listen to the music and watch the videos that support the degradation of women. Their excuse is that they only listen to the music. Has anyone out there listened to the words or looked closer at the music videos? I do like rap and I do like hip hop and rock and roll though I prefer not to listen to the sexist parts. My friends don't understand my opinion in this matter, so a t-shirt would me a great way to make a stand and tell everyone why I think this way.

it drives me nuts how women act like that in music videos, it gives out a horrible message out to everyone!
I remember a long time ago, I was babysittting this 5 year old and we were watching tv. While I went to the bathroom, he changed the channel to MTV, and what was on the screen was horrific, Some rap dude I swear was having sex with a younger girl, and she was enjoying it. What kind of message is the media giving out to people? That we should all have sex with girls in skimpy clothes?

I personally don't worry t00 much about those videos, mostly because the only people who take them seriously usually aren't the kind of people I take stock in.
Though, again I'll say: There are way too many stupid people out there for that kind of stuff to be so common place in the media.
