Hello! My name is Zou and I will serve as your contest announcer. Yes, that's right, exciting isn't it? RPR is arranging a new RP contest with amazing prices. Join up, have fun, RP and have the chance to win some cash and cool items while you're at it!!!
While we're at it let me present the first contest we will be holding. We will have arrange an avatar fighting tournament. What's this you say? Well, basically the contestants will submit the avatar they want to fight with, then they will be teamed or paired up and fight against other avatars. The point is to use the items you have equipped on your avatar as imaginatively as possible. For example you can use your hat as a choking device or blind you opponents with your fairy dust, basically anything! The winners will be those who we see have the best potential and have been the most creative, not the actual winners. Have fun, be original and RP your hearts out! This brilliant contest idea was brought to you by Gale Overdrive.
If you want to enter this contest you should PM a screencap of the avatar you want to enter to me (Zou). We need a screencap of both the front and behind of your avatar, along with a list of your equipped items, so that we know about possible hidden or overlapped items. If you don't know how to take a screen capture, you can use Tektek Avatar Creator, but for maximum fun's sake we encourage you to create avatars with the items you actually do own yourself. Besides the more items you have equipped, the less powerful your items become, so overcrowding it won't automatically give you an advantage. Also remember that the pose you submit each item in, is the form of the specific item you can use (for example the flame sword can be burning or not burning, choose wisely). After each battle you are allowed to submit a new avatar, as a sort of restocking of weapons. Pets that die during a battle of course remain dead during that battle, but they will be revived and usable in your next battle.

The battles will last a maximum of 20 posts per player before the judges end them and select a winner. This limit has been created so that we can avoid endless battles. Players who haven't responded to their opponents post within 2 days will automatically forfeit their match. We're sorry, but we can't wait forever, so make sure you can actually be active in this competition before you decide to enter.
There is no limit to how many may enter nor is there any entrance fee, so there really is nothing to stop you from entering right now. You don't need to be afraid, you don't have to be the best RPer out there, but a certain basic level of literacy is expected. One liners are not forbidden, but your chances of winning with an RP consisting of only one liners are very slim.

Oh I can barely stand still, it is finally starting! Can you believe it, you will be able to see our captains duelling it out just for our entertainment? Yes, l they will give us a test battle, so that you all know how the battle is run. Even though I know you all would love to see these two really bash eachother's heads in, this battle will be limited to only 10 posts each, 10 posts each less than a regular battle. Enjoy! I'm sure I will at least.

I'm interested, but here's a question for you. Look at my current Avatar. Would the sword have to stay sheathed throughout the entire fight? My current avatar and ideas for it in combat don't work if the sword has to stay sheathed.

No it would not have to stay sheated. We added the rule because of items like the 'Fire flower', 'Western zodiac' and 'Mecha form' that change form completely when equipped in different positions.

 Hello again dear guild members. I'm here now to announce the beginning of the exhibition battle. Let's give both the contestants a round of applaudes *cheers* They both now have one post to get themselves ready and enter the fighting area. The fight is held outside on a big grass plane, which I have carefully examined to see that there are no stones or other unneccessary bumps to disturb the battle. Now please remember you are only allowed to use whatever you have equipped! To make this all clearer for the possible spectators, you have both been assigned your own color. Magni you are red and Yoder you are blue. All spectators can post their comments in normal black type. Have fun!

Standing out in the field, noting the distinctive lack of any walls, stones, or any other defining feature, he kneels down for a moment to feel the grass. Gentle breezes float across the plants, giving an almost aquatic look to the flat area. A sigh escapes his lips at the calm area, and the soothing effect they have on him. Still, there is work to be done.
Rising to his full height again, the tail behind him lightly moves from side to side in anticipation of the combat. Taking a long deep breath with his eyes closed, Magni steels his heart for what is coming. His eyes still closed, he pulls out the large Kunai-like blades on his arms, letting them spin for a moment on the pivot point at his wrists. Locking them back into place parrallel to his forearms, his voice bellows out into the air, taunting.
"C'mon boy! We all must die sometime!" His declaration made, Magni stands perfectly still, opening his senses to the world around him. Sight scans the horizon everywhere, hearing straining for any hint through the wind. Scent working to catch something on the light breeze, hearing for a response to his call. With all his senses straining to find his opponent, the draconic one hopes the sense of touch will not be needed to find Yoder.

Talon's shout of a challenge blasted through the late summer air to Yoder. Having diverged off of the dusty path between Barton and Durem, he came to a lush grassy field. The expanse was fairly uniform with gently rolling hills and large oak trees. The rows of opposing bleachers were all that interrupted the verdant landscape. Standing in the center of the field was who Yoder could only guess to be the referee. Her bunny ears and blue attire were plainly visible from his distance, and apparently his opponent was also there. He drew closer to the two as more spectators gathered. Some of the small crowd boo-ed at Yoder's sight while others cheered upon his recognition.
Taking his place beside Zou, he nodded to her in respect. His adversary was standing directly in front of him, and Yoder could feel anticipation welling up inside of him. Then again, maybe it was fear. A light wisp of wind rustled through the surrounding foliage, some of which had already begun to turn. He gripped his katana more tightly and responded, "So, I'm here. Shall we give it a go, sir?" Bowing slightly, he took a defensive stance as Zou gave the signal to start.

A moment passed, marked only by a light gust of wind rippling across the live floor of their battlefield. Sizing up his oppenent, Magni smirks at the array of weapons. Either this one came prepared, or is hoping an arsenal will make a difference. Time will tell . . .
Slowly walking forward, Magni motions for Zou to step back. Her place is on the sidelines. Stopping only four feet from Yoder, he begins to speak softly, neither bellowing as before, nor whispering into the wind. "Sir? Here, Yoder, we are equals. On the field of battle, with no quarter asked. There is only one thing I would point out. In combat-"
Without warning he explodes into motion, lunging not foreward, but down. Planting his kunai blades into the earth, he uses the pivot points on his wrists as a fulcrum and his momentum combined with a leap off the ground sends his body into an arc. Leading now with the heel of both his boots and the ridge of his muscular tail, he finishes the thought.
"-One must always be ready!"

At Magni's sudden attack, Yoder took a step back and rose his right gauntlet-clad hand to block the impact if it were to make contact. His adrenaline rushed throughout his body in an instant as his thoughts raced through possible tactics.
Angling his wings, he relied upon their power as they propeled him 10 feet away from Magni. His wings had no use for actual flight, but they could help him with speedy manuevers and safe landings. He replied to Magni saying, "You might also do well to remember that." He brought his sword behind his body and rushed towards Magni, clawed gauntlet forward.

The smirk evaporated from Magni's face just as fast as it had appeared- at the exact moment his summersault completed without connecting with anything more dangerous than grass. Hearing his taunt retuned in a passive, matter-of-fact tone, his face becomes a bit of a snarl. "Shimatta!"
With only moments to spare before Yoder gets in range to use his weapons, Magni falls back upon the ideology of his previous incarnation- that of a beast named Talon. Beasts do not strategize as much as go on instinct. Most of his weight is still on his arms, keeping him from quickly deploying his blades in this position. Instead, he rears back on them, pulling his body to a more comfortable position for his arms to work.
Drawing his legs up for a defensive series of kicks while his balance recovers, his true objective again is to use something most humans do not think about- a tail. Kept low in the grass, it swipes out with near-blinding speed along the verdant floor. The hit won't do much damage, but it will set them both on equal footing while he flips back to a fighting stance.

Not realizing Magni's long and thick tail, Yoder rushed headlong into a reptilian round-house. The trip-up caused Yoder to lose his balance. Magni's tail having hit his shins, he began to fall backward, as Soon as he hit the grassy ground, he rolled backward while standing up. Though doing so would put him at a slight disadvantage, he stood as quickly as possible, throwing off his balance once more. Stabilizing himself by placing the point of his blade firmly on the ground, he cracked his knuckles and partially kneeled down, His crown of spikes pointing towards Magni, he hoped a trick tactic would work. Reaching to his side, he pushed the hilt of his blade against a rib. A button pressed down and the sharp shells fired off, though not very fast. Yoder knew that if Talon was able to dodge this, he would be in prime position to counter-attack. Still, the risk was worth it.

Finally! Magni's smirk returns again as his fleshy tail connects. No longer at this damned disadvantage, he flips up over himself oblivious to Yoder's actions. Landing on his feet, he has enough time to look up and see his opponent taking a knee. With some effort, he extracts his one blade from the earth as shells are lined up with him.
Unaware of what that crown was set to do, the shot takes him off guard. In desparation, Magni rips his other blade from the ground, sending a divot of earth right at Yoder's head. In the same motion, Magni strikes one blade with it's twin, sending the pair into a spin. Holding them defensively before him, several of the shells are deflected by the whirling blades. Three, however, break through.
Two of the shells hit his armor with a metallic clink. A third, however, strikes his left bicep with enough force to stick into his flesh. With a feral growl, he reaches over and yanks the spiral offender out of his arm, a trickle of blood moving down his arm as he charges forward, throwing the shell ahead of him, a shower of red droplets in it's wake.

Yoder removed his now-useless crown the moment his shells had been fired. Looking up just in time to have a clod of dirt flown into his face, Yoder was caught off guard. With a sweep of his hand, most of it was off his face, though his vision was still somewhat impaired. The projectile Magni had thrown back at Yoder struck his mask as he was rising from his kneeling position. His mask cracked at impact and fell off his face, revealing a rill of blood leaking from where the spike had struck his forehead. Seeing Magni run towards him he held his sword horizontally at his sternum, the side of the katana facing the oncomer. He quickly removed his zorro mask, restoring his full vision (as the dirt was stuck to his mask, not in his eyes). By now Magni was upon Yoder and he firmed his defensive sword stance.

The divot was never meant to be fired, but Magni decides not to question good fortune. The shell managed to give a similar wound to Yoder that it gave to his arm- and that brings a smile to Magni's face. Barreling forward, he sees Yoder take a defensive stance in his low position. For the first time, the enraged man saw his enemy's face. It does little to stop the advance.
That part of Magni that is conscious realizes that this defensive stance must be broken. Still, he is not wholly rational in his charge. Instead, he raises his left arm to bar his chest diagonally, the kunai points beyond his right shoulder and left midriff in defensive position. His right, however, is brought underneath in a coiled position.
As he closes the final few inches in that charge, his left arm rushes the sword, blocking it as best he can while his right shoots upward in an arc. The motion causes his kunai to pivot on it's mount, so instead of a deadly blade, a vicious uppercut now races toward the unprotected head of his opponent. Certain of the hit, and the removal of Yoder's balance, the strike is accompanied by a vicious war cry and a fanged smile.
"rrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!"
